Visiting Anchorage and decided it was time for a cappuccino. I was greeted by a young man who kindly took our order and prepared the cups for the barista. The older woman with glasses started my drinks. I could tell she was very stressed, overwhelmed, and didn't want to be apart of the process. She was telling customers "I'm busy right now" and "I guess I'll be making drinks until we close". I patently waited for my drink and watched her craft. I complimented her many times and told her how much I appreciated her hard work. It made her smile and I felt good that I was able to do that. I bet she is a really nice woman, maybe just having a hard day. But I wanted to pray for her and tell her she was important. I didn't judge her at all. I hope she finds peace. read more

Most of the photos of this place are WRONG! This is the Kaladi's inside the tiny New Sagaya! Service is generally good, they keep the lines moving. They have an area to drink coffee with free WiFi, I can't vouch either way for the quality though. This is where I go to drink coffee when the roommates and I realize we don't have any in the house and need some STAT. read more

Wow, this latte is soooo good. We drink espresso drinks every day and have pretty high standards. This place def has great espresso drinks. It seems like they dominate in Alaska - we see them in both Anchorage and Seward. read more

Great place to eat at, good prices, good food, and good coffee!!! My favorite thing to get here is the scone... It is amazing!!! Very nice service, although they sometimes need more workers, because of how many people work here.. They sometimes put to much or to less shots in the coffee, maybe the person can request how many shots they want. Not a very far walk from hotels, but can easily be missed if you don't see the sign. Good cafe in downtown Anchorage, it only cost us 15$ for 3 people, and we all left satisfied! Overall, this is one of the better cafes in the state, but some changes could be made to make this a five star restaurant. I really hope they get rid of the ugly blue tile too, but this is a good place for coffee and Breakfast! read more

This is my review and experience at this location /store (coffee shop) Charging .25 for a cup of water So this last Sunday, Feb 14, at aprox 11 am in the morning, I bought a cup of coffee. (a Mocha) at New Sagya City Market, downtown Anchorage. I went to the table and sat down to drink this when I realized my small dog was looking at me, like she was thirsty. So I walk back over and asked for a small cup of water for my service dog. The Barista said that will be .25 cents. I said , I just bought a cup of coffee. He said our cups cost .25 cents. They were not busy, and there was 3 people behind the counter. I walked away...I had just spent over $4. 00 for a cup of coffee. I have been there many times, purchased many cups of coffee in the past (I have lived here since 1981) so you can imagine how many cups of coffee I have purchase over these years. -Not only from that store, but every store the Kaladi has in Anchorage at one time or another. I expressed by disappoint by saying, I will never buy another cup of coffee here again, to which they just shrugged there shoulders. They are not exactly good people when it comes to being friendly or going the extra distance to make the coffee experience a good one. As contrast, the Kaladi store inside Midtown City Market has Very kind, friendly employees working there. And, I don't want to get them in trouble, but they have given me a cup a water before-for Free (imagine that) The bottom line, they can charge .25 cents for water but I will not pay that, especially after buying coffee first, or anything there) I will buy my coffee at Starbucks where they don't charge .25 for a cup of water. this picture is of my dog who was with me who I wanted a cup of water for her. And to be clear there is only warm to hot water in the restrooms, because they don't have separate cold and hot controls. If I was in charge, I would have fired all three of those people who wouldn't give a cup of water for a paying customer. I come here every now and then to get a Red Goat and a poppy seed muffin if I'm in the downtown area. The employees here have always been courteous and quick when I come in. This is my favorite spot to order the Kaladi drink. The barista that makes it here always adds the right amount of honey to it. Most places like this that are centralized in a grocery store are crowded during the weekends, but I actually enjoy coming here for lunch even when it is busy. The seating area next to the hot bar and L'Aroma deli is spaciously laid out and open with large windows to let in the sunlight to make the atmosphere bright and inviting. This is the complete opposite to the dining area of the New Sagaya on 36th which has no windows and feels like you're boxed in during the lunch rush. I also like that the store adds more tables and chairs outside on sunny days during the summer months. They provide free Wi-Fi here but the place has more of a cafeteria feel to it rather than a café to hang out for a little while. There is an outlet for your laptop or portable device next to the corner table outside the employees' break room. I have seen students from time to time studying here but for me, it's more ideal to meet up with friends or to take a break before heading back to work. Not to deviate from the subject of Kaladi's, I like that this location is away from the more congested areas of downtown like 4th and 5th Ave. and just down the road from the Park Strip. I wish Kaladi's had a standalone location right next to the Park Strip on the west end of downtown. This will be advantageous for the company as the Park Strip provides free parking as opposed to using the parking buildings or driving around constantly looking for an open spot on the curb and paying $2.50 for a couple of hours. They will definitely get a lot more business from working regulars and tourists if they can find a decent spot in that area. read more

Really really disappointed considering Kaladi Brothers Coffee gets my business EVERYMORNING! I normally get coffee but today I decided a red bull, worst mistake ever ! She filled it up only 3 quarters of the way because I said Light Ice, when I asked why she shrugged her shoulders and said," that's ours 16oz" but it wasn't even filled, I felt cheated and ignored completely as far as customer service goes! read more

Super bitchy barista (the one with the colorful hair). She's got a really bad attitude. This has been my go to place for coffee for quite awhile but I think I'd rather drink Starbucks than deal with her. I haven't had very good experiences at any of the Kaladis lately. Perhaps they are getting too big for their britches and customer service has gone south. It's a shame because their coffee is good (when it's not cold, old or served to you with a snarl).
