The technicians (2) arrived on time, provided an estimate (replace two sets of attic stairs…read more(wooden) with aluminum stairs) and when we accepted the bid began work immediately. The job took several hours and apparently required more help as other techs were brought in to help complete the task. As a side note, we appreciated this being done as we have had projects done before where more help was needed and there was a delay in the job completion while everyone sat around and waited for the help to arrive. The group from "All in 1" did not delay bringing in other folks to help. When the job was completed they cleaned up the entire area and stacked to old material neatly outside for bulk pickup. Costwise: "All in 1" was within the range of other companies but is on the high side for the DFW market, but we felt we got our dollar's worth for the task and would use them again.

The business is family-owned, and while there's nothing wrong with that, if you weren't part of the family, you were often viewed as an outsider. You were frequently judged and criticized for how you worked--even when you were following their instructions. They would change things at the last minute, sometimes within hours, and if you didn't adjust accordingly--without even realizing--they would criticize you, questioning why you were doing something, even though they were the ones who put that process in place. When the owner spoke to customers, he spoke to them as if they were ignorant, often judging them based on how they sounded on the phone, making them feel uninformed. He also had a tendency to speak over them, cutting them off every time he spoke, never allowing them to fully express themselves. The pricing tended to vary significantly depending on the perceived scale of the customer's property--those with more expensive homes often received much higher estimates. When an estimate was presented, if the client didn't respond in the way the owner wanted, he would instruct the technician to raise the estimate dramatically, driven purely by emotion and frustration, just to get as much as possible. And if the customer didn't accept, he would have the technician dismiss them, making them seem unreasonable and not worth any further time or effort. The owner claimed they were doing the Lord's work, wanting to be good stewards, but in reality, this felt conditional--their investment in employees or jobs depended on the value of the work. Furthermore, they pushed their religious beliefs onto certain employees--those who didn't attend the same church or didn't share their views were often judged and made to feel unworthy. I think it is extremely important to point out that if you are a particular ethnicity then you are automatically disqualified from their services in which they will come up with a reason not willing to help you. I want to be clear--I'm not coming from a place of hostility as a former employee; I am simply concerned for future customers and employees who shouldn't be treated this way. If the business truly claims the values they profess, then their actions need to align--right now, what's happening is the exact opposite, and it's not good business practice.

Michael is very pleasant to work with. My wife and I felt very comfortable choosing him due to his positive attitude, his professionalism and the fact that he really listened to our needs and expectations. We explained that our primary concerns were making sure that the door was properly sealed so that there were no air gaps or places where water could penetrate. I know that some people will read that and think, "Well of course that was your expectation, those points are a given", but stop and think - do you really believe that every handyman takes the time to do a thorough job? They don't. Some do the bare minimum, and often charge you above market price for their shoddy work. Michael@Legit Handyman is the opposite of the "turn and burn Chuck with a truck". He is kind, thorough, and reasonably priced. He takes the time to fix things that were not done properly previously, like sealing unseen areas behind the trim. Another important point is that he doesn't bid on projects that are not his specialty. He doesn't "fake it to make it". If he is not sure that he can leave you satisfied that you got a great value for his service, he will tell you that the project is not something he is comfortable with. We appreciate his honesty and integrity! That said, there are MANY projects that he is comfortable with, and after seeing the quality of his work, we scheduled other work. Again, Michael impressed us with his skill, professionalism, price and kindness. We have scheduled a third project with him. My family really likes Michael. Even though he has customers to get to, he takes the time to talk to our autistic son about the projects. Our son thinks Michael is amazing, and my wife and I agree. I very highly recommend Michael@Legit Handyman. He does amazing work for a great price.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! The door itself looks great and appears to be high quality…read more Unfortunately, the experience with Freedom Iron Doors was extremely disappointing. Our original contract included a glass-opening feature. During the process, Mika created revised work orders that removed that feature without our knowledge. When the door was installed, it did not include what we had originally agreed to. When we raised the issue with the owners, instead of working with us toward a solution, they threatened to place a lien on our home because we withheld a portion of the payment due to the installation not matching the contract. Even more concerning, we were told that if we did not pay the full amount, our house could be vandalized. That type of response was shocking and completely unprofessional. For the amount of money spent, the customer service was unacceptable. They showed zero interest in resolving the issue or making us feel like valued customers. Ironically, the door itself gets a lot of compliments. Seven or eight families who have visited our home have asked for the company name because they liked the look of it and were considering something similar. Unfortunately, after sharing our experience, we told them we could not recommend doing business with this company.

He quickly listened to what we needed and found he didn't have all parts. No worries, we had some projects he could do and we would get the missing parts from Lowe's. Quickly installed the kitchen faucet replacement and hand held shower head. Once we had the missing parts, he was able to install the grab handles in the shower and toilet area. All of this work was done in a very reasonable amount of time. Rodney cleaned up any debris he created and we couldn't be happier for the results. Will definitely call back Rodney and Ace Handyman Services again if/when needed!

In the end, the door was absolutely perfect. The door to the house is level and reinstalled properly, the pet door is aligned well, works perfectly and couldn't look better. In addition to the pet door, we also had 5 ceiling fans installed. They were all installed perfectly. No wobbling or balance issues at all. They look great and operate as expected. We will definitely be using Ace again in the future for our handman needs. My husband is totally sold on the idea of calling them for the work instead of stressing out and sweating it out when something is needed around the house. Thank you Ace for your professionalism, great quality of workmanship and timeliness.
