The technicians (2) arrived on time, provided an estimate (replace two sets of attic stairs (wooden) with aluminum stairs) and when we accepted the bid began work immediately. The job took several hours and apparently required more help as other techs were brought in to help complete the task. As a side note, we appreciated this being done as we have had projects done before where more help was needed and there was a delay in the job completion while everyone sat around and waited for the help to arrive. The group from "All in 1" did not delay bringing in other folks to help. When the job was completed they cleaned up the entire area and stacked to old material neatly outside for bulk pickup. Costwise: "All in 1" was within the range of other companies but is on the high side for the DFW market, but we felt we got our dollar's worth for the task and would use them again. read more

The whole experience was great. We had an expansion tank leak upstairs that left all our insulation wet, and the roof in our closet collapsed. Ryan and team were out first thing the next day to clean the mess and start the drying process. When they left at the end of each day, the area was picked up and plastic was taped well so there was protection and we could still access the washer and dryer. The quality of their work is reliable and exceptional and Jaco is knowledgeable. His team is punctual. He provides a three-year warranty on labor. PSA...Highway robbery! I was charged $480 to replace/re-key one standard door knob dead bolt combo. The dead bolt portion did not even need replaced. $280 to hang two mirrors. I could go on. I was given a quote and was floored but really needed the things done so I went ahead with the work. I did call the manager just to voice my opinion about the extreme prices, to which I was given a confusing explanation about the price vs the cost. What? We wanted an upgrade and hired All in 1 Handyman to install new cabinetry and a new sink. The cabinets that we ordered were an 1/4 inch too large for our laundry room, but they knew how to resolve this issue. High attention to detail. They made sure that the cabinets were aligned perfectly and sealed gaps with caulking where the cabinet meets the wall for a clean look. Very professional and pleasant to work with. Do not use their service. I called them to work at a window and a door that leak in heavy rain. Justin came with another guy. Justin worked on the window and the other guy worked on the door. Justin told me that their work was guaranteed for a year. Justin, before he left, gave me a pamphlet of the company indicating that their work warranty was three years. He said the warranty was even better. The next day, it rained. The window and the door still leaked. My wife called them to come back to repair the leaks. The manager, Aaron, told her that there was no warranty on their work and refused to come back to fix the leaks. read more

These guys are legit. I feel so lucky to have found them. First of all, they are super responsive and considerate of your time. They'll give you an arrival time estimate, and if they are going to be late for whatever reason, they let you know. As someone with an extremely tight schedule, I appreciate this so much. Second of all, they know what they're doing and they do quality work. It's equally amazing that if they can't do the job, they don't pretend that they can! They charge by the hour and are really good about estimating how much time the job is going to take, and sticking to that as much as possible. If they are done before the hour is up, they ask if you have other little handyman jobs to take up the full hour. They're honest and ethical and really great communicators. I've used them twice now. The first time was several months ago to fix a couple of bedroom doors that had never closed in the 4 years since I bought my 70 year old house. Jaco did a fantastic job on this. The doors work perfectly. He was great about communicating the status of the job as he went. There were a couple little snafus where the repair didn't go as planned & he thoughtfully worked around them to find alternate solutions-all within the time originally quoted. He cleaned up after he was finished, didn't leave a trace. Today I called them because a giant piece of sheet metal came loose from my patio cover in the recent storm and was slamming against the side of my house every time the wind blew. I was hoping they'd be able to just secure it down again. Unfortunately, because of the location of the sheet metal and the construction of my patio cover, this job was beyond their scope. But they didn't just leave me hanging. Diedeliff and Ricardo removed the loose metal so it wouldn't make anymore noise, helped me dispose of it safely, and quickly texted me a referral for a trusted roofing company who they think can help me. And didn't charge me. As a woman, it's sometimes a struggle finding people in this type of profession who won't try to take advantage of you in some way, but I 200% trust them to handle the handyman jobs that come up around my house & would refer them to anyone in a heartbeat. I had an approximately 2 ft by 3 ft hole in my drywall from a plumbing repair. All In 1 came out and gave me an estimate of $750 to repair the hole. I thought it might be a little excessive, but I'm not an expert and decided to go ahead. I couldn't do it myself anyway. They did a good job repairing the hole. The old paint I had did not match the paint on the wall when applied to a sample and dried. They charged me an extra $200 for specially matching and buying the paint. Total bill: $1,030.00, still maybe not too bad. They painted a lot more than just the area of the repair. They painted around a corner and part way up to the ceiling. The original repair was a short distance from the floor and mostly behind a dresser. After waiting a few days for the paint to completely dry, it does not match at all and is basically large blobs on two walls. (They say they informed me that the painting had an 85% chance of matching, but I don't recall being told.) They estimate an additional $1,200.00 to come out and paint the two walls, with what I assume is the can of paint that won't exactly match the other walls. Needless to say, I'll find another way to get the painting done. $2,230.00 to partially repair a 2x3 hole in drywall now does seem excessive to me. Also, seems to me if you spectrally match a color, you should get that color. It's not like you used the name of the old color and didn't match because of aging? read more

I need to correct a few inaccuracies in Jaco's response: 1. On the day of the job, while Jaco and I waited for his assistant to arrive, I asked him what other kind of work he did. I don't remember his entire list, but he mentioned electrical. When he was working on the attic ladder (he was in the garage, I was inside the house), I heard the alarm chime like a door had been opened. I started testing doors and realized one zone had stopped working. I don't know very much about electrical matters (and I didn't want to seem like I was accusing him of something, since I am not an expert), so I didn't make a big fuss of it at the time. But my husband (who is more savvy than I) confirmed that the wire had been cut -- and my husband repaired it. How can I trust an electrician who doesn't know or can't admit when he's made a mistake? 2. "A few days before our appointment you called me to request a discount off the originally aggreed estimate. I agreed to a $50 discount." I called a week before he was scheduled to come out, because his estimate was the highest of the three I had requested. I was going to cancel my appointment with him and hire someone else, but he agreed to match the price (which included paint). If he didn't want to do it for the lower price, he should have just said no and let me hire someone else. The end of a job is not an appropriate time to start renegotiating scope and price. read more

The guys that came out were very nice and accommodating with time. Unfortunately, the pricing was just egregious for tearing down a 6'x8' non load bearing closet wall. Moving the existing electrical over, moving the existing door over for the new closet and installing 3 light cans. Texture the wall that's it. Just the haul away for an 8' long wall and maybe extra small wood pieces was over 600.00. I don't care how you slice this up it's ridiculous. read more
