I just had the best nut blends I've ever eaten. The applewood smoked almonds, and the trailmix are unmatched by any other brand I've tried.

I recently stopped back into The Hive to pick up a bottle or two of mead to bring to Girls' Night…read moredinner. I contemplated also buying honey but figured the hostess already had us covered with charcuterie, ports, olive oil and balsamic vinegars. I didn't catch the name of the man who helped me out, but he was super knowledgeable. I tasted more than a handful of different meads, ranging from bright and sweet to hoppy, to notes of cardamom and pine, to a thick almost port-like consistency, to a dry one. I also noticed one local brand, Strad Meadery represented as well. This wasn't a formal proper sit-down tasting as I was short on time, compared to when I did the actual honey tasting and they had a UC Davis Honey Flavor & Aroma Tasting Wheel to go along with. Ultimately I ended up purchasing a bottle of limited edition Sky River Chamomile Mead (Puget Sound, WA) and a specialty small-batch Monarch Series bottle of SideTrack Meadery's Celebratory Cyser Apple Mead (California Bay Area). We shared the Cyser which was great, and saving the bottle of Chamomile for a future date. I'll be back soon for lunch or to catch live music on the pollinator garden patio!

Once they opened, we did the honey tasting, and there was an incredible number of honeys that we could taste there were 7 of us and we each tried 14 honeys, 2 nut butters and 2 fruit spreads. I have to say that the tastings are the highlight of this visit because I had no idea what an amazing variety of honey wecultivate here in the Sacramento Valley. Also, my favorite honey was from Hawaii flower that's only grown on the big island... which I had to buy. The honey is insanely expensive, but when you have something that is so unique, it's worth it. After all of that tasting, I thought I was gonna have a diabetic overload, so we went and had our savory lunch. Each one of the seven of us purchased one item and asked for it to be sliced up so that we could all share. I have to say the only item on the menu that I went crazy for was the real Gouda cheese and bacon and peach sandwich. It was absolutely divine. I also really enjoyed the whipped goat cheese with honey although the nectarines on the side should have been sliced up and incorporated so that more bites could contain them. Prices are a little steep, but the atmosphere is lovely. It was a very warm day. We had the misters going. Some people didn't like getting wet, but that's OK. There was other places where you could sit and not get wet. I would definitely come here again with people new to the area to do the tasting that was super fun and I would also like to get a tour of their operation. While they don't actually harvest the honey here they contract with the local, single hive owners and they have an amazing amazing array of honeys. They do all of the packaging injuring of the products here. I was super happy to hear that they partner with the ally in a Sacramento to make their hot honey and some infuse honey's. I love shopping local and this made me super happy farm to forget it's greatest.

The location is perfect right in the heart of downtown, surrounded by history and that small town charm Woodland is known for. You walk in and immediately feel the character of the place. It's not manufactured, it's real, and that matters. The atmosphere is on point. It balances upscale and relaxed in a way that works whether you're there for a date night, business dinner, or just grabbing a drink. The lounge has great energy and always feels alive without being too much. The food speaks for itself. Consistently high quality, fresh, and well executed. You can tell there's intention behind every dish, not just going through the motions. For the level of quality you're getting, the value is absolutely there. Service is a big reason this place stands out. Christy is amazing. She genuinely cares, remembers people, and makes sure you're taken care of the right way. It never feels forced, just natural hospitality. This is one of those spots that's become part of Woodland's identity. You see regulars, new faces, families, and business meetings all happening at once. That kind of mix only happens when a place is doing something right. If you're looking for great food, strong atmosphere, real service, and a place that actually represents the community, this is it.

This time, three of us ordered burgers, and they were some of the driest, most flavorless burgers I've ever had. Burger Saloon, I'll never betray you again. The experience itself felt unreal. We found out our waitress was on her 4th day working and she literally quit after taking our order. You truly can't make this stuff up. Another server had to come retake our order, and even then things still came out wrong. I asked for no cheese because I'm lactose intolerant, but my burger came with cheese anyway. Out of 7 drinks ordered, 3 were forgotten. One drink specifically requested no sugar on the rim and came out with sugar. I did feel bad for the replacement server. He looked incredibly nervous and was visibly shaking. Despite all the mishaps, we still left him a good tip because it honestly seemed like the whole place was struggling that night.

And if it is, they tend to have enough people working. I rarely have to wait in line. Second, it's clean. As in immaculate! This matters to me so much. The people who work there are extremely helpful. Employees will ask you if you need anything, even before you can ask them. The deli and Butcher area is wonderful. The food is fantastic and they are very fast and efficient. The bakery! Need a cake? Need anything? They can help you. The store is larger than the Mace Boulevard store but smaller than the Covell store. Honestly, it's the perfect size. I don't get lost and I can find everything I need. It's also oriented slightly differently-- it's not square-- which for some reason seems to help me find things This is my go to place for groceries!

Twelve dollars. This same sandwich at Sprouts is 5.99 and has more cheese on it. I get that Nugget is a local specialty store, but this is outrageous. I also had the red potato salad and couldn't eat it. It was just not good, barely any flavor except dill. I don't know how you can make such flavorless potato salad. I'm sad and still hungry.

They make their own syrups, which is so hard to find! We got the cascara latte and honey lavender.... I have never tasted cascara but it's the cherry of the coffee bean and it's one of the most delicious coffee flavors I have ever tried! They put cocoa and citrus on top and whoever made these syrups is a genius. They nailed the flavors, this tastes like they've been perfecting these syrups for ages! The honey lavender latte, was the best I have ever had! And I try them at most coffee shops, they made this one PERFECT! I can taste the quality honey and the lavender is infused perfectly! I can't stand when other places use junk honey, this place was AMAZING!
