I want to focus on their modern technology which has failed !!!!! Here I am at Raley's shopping and I think I should really save some money by looking at the current ads. I whip out my phone using the Raley's app go to Weekly Ad. It pulls and I go town. I check what's on sale and start pulling those items from the shelves and placing them in my cart. I save over $4 on Oatmeal and $1 off those Aidells sausages. Then I go reading the ads they place on the coolers for salads. Buy 2 Fresh Express salads and only pay $1.97 each or so. So I buy two. and they come out to be $3.99 each. I've tried to buy these salads before and they always ring up wrong. I really should just give up on trying to get the savings on these salads, I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong to get this deal. So here I am cart full and checking out. I asked the cashier to make sure I got the deal on the sausages and all he sees 10% off. He asks me to pull up the ad and I show him on the app. I got to weekly ad and there it is. I'm not looking at some old email. The sent me. I'm right here on the app. He asks me what date it says on the ad. I show him that it says weekly ad. Well he scrolls down to the bottom of the ad and enlarges it to show me the date. He says this is next weeks ads. I said but, I'm pulling this up on the app and it says weekly ads, it should be the current ad. Then then bag boy speaks up and says the add will start Wednesday (Today is Monday)therefore the app is wrong for half a week every week. They need to redo there app and if it says weekly ad it should be the current ad. And if they want to stick with being a week off they should at-least put the dates of the ad in a font size you really can read without blowing it up. To add to this there is no way to look at the current ads on the app. Therefore this app is useless unless you wait to Wednesday to use it. As I was entering on take two of the day since I forget something's I did see a pile of paper ads by the front door. I guess next time I shops I'll have to be like those other people and pick up a paper ad on my way in. This really kills the idea of looking at the ad at home and planning the shopping trip ahead of time unless it's Wed. The checker wanted to know if I wanted to return those items, but by that time it was too late, I already planned my meals around those items and there would have been a ton to return and then I would have to replan those meals. And at that time I didn't know you could also get the. ad at the front of the store. If I hand known that I could have returned everything , started over with the current ad and gone from there, but after spending 30 minutes in the store already I was shopped out.. I just wanted to be done. And still after that that I went home looked at my recipe and realized I had forgotten 3 ingredients and had to go back again. Sadly to say, Yes, I was that shopper that held up the line when I had the checker do a price check on those sausages. I'm sorry about to the person that was behind me. Thankfully it was only one person. What I learned from this experience is if you want to use the app to shop flip it open at home then do this on Wednesday. Then you can plan your meals then and then go shopping. For me I'm a Monday and Tuesday shopper so this doesn't work for me. I can only hope that they go back to mailing ads and this way I can plan ahead. Circle the items I want at home and take the ad with me along with my shopping list.

You will find fresh produce, meat department, breads, canned goods, frozen foods, dairy products, coffee/tea, wine deals, candy, water and much more!!! One of the shoppers told us, "If you find something you like, buy more NOW"!!! It may not be here next time!! Good advice!! Overall, a nice place to shop. Employees were very friendly and helpful.

Today was our big outing to Safeway. We came to this particular Safeway because they have the DMV…read morekiosks. We needed to renew our registration. It's that time of year again. Going to the DMV is such a hassle and you can no longer get a number and talk to an agent to renew your registration on site. They will direct you to one of there kiosks on site for you to do it. So if you aren't a kiosk lover you're out of luck. You can also renew by paper, just tear off the bottom of the paper and mail it in with your check, but that takes time. Using this Safeway Kiosk is instant, you give them your credit or debit card and you're in and out in no time. You don't even need the paper they sent you to renew your registration on site. I have to say there is something glitchy with the yelp app. I took around 10 pictures today and only 3 pictures stuck. Too bad, they were a lot of great pics. I don't know what's happening. The same thing happened with my Sees's Post only 2 of the 5 pictures stuck. Just imagine lots more pictures. Such as the one of this year's superbowl napkins. They are selling them on an end cap at Safeway. The bad about the trip is the digital coupons that you clip on your phone didn't right up right at the register and we had to go to customer service for a price adjustment. For some reason my husband can clip all the coupons on his phone , but his phone number isn't linking to his account. He needs to scan the QR code from his card on this phone by the sales associate when he checks out. What a pain. When he has a chance he'll give them a ring and see if they can fix it. The customer service guy couldn't help us. He's the one that said give the checker the QR code to scan. This is making shopping at Safeway difficult and not efficient. We did get a lot of good deals or we think we got a lot of good deals. Pete's coffee was $7.99 a bag. Eggs were $1.99 a dozen. Chicken broth was on sale for 50% off in the clearance section and we grabbed 4. Then we went to the regularly section and it was on sale for only 99 cents so we put the clearance ones back on the rack and took the 99 cent ones. The bathrooms are locked up, you need a code to get in. I was lucky that the person in-front of me had the code. The bathrooms aren't spectacular. They are decent. They didn't smell bad and appeared clean. Clearance Rack- There are 2 racks out side the restrooms of clearance items. There appeared to be lots of good deals. As you heard above we though we were getting a good deal, but we weren't so know your prices before you fall for the 50% off sticker deal.
