If I could give this store six stars, I would! I've only recently discovered the Woodland location. I shopped in Davis for years. I love Woodland even more. First, it is rarely crowded. And if it is, they tend to have enough people working. I rarely have to wait in line. Second, it's clean. As in immaculate! This matters to me so much. The people who work there are extremely helpful. Employees will ask you if you need anything, even before you can ask them. The deli and Butcher area is wonderful. The food is fantastic and they are very fast and efficient. The bakery! Need a cake? Need anything? They can help you. The store is larger than the Mace Boulevard store but smaller than the Covell store. Honestly, it's the perfect size. I don't get lost and I can find everything I need. It's also oriented slightly differently-- it's not square-- which for some reason seems to help me find things This is my go to place for groceries! read more

I'm so disappointed. I guess it's my fault for not asking the price, but I paid $12 for a sandwich that was nothing but sliced sourdough, mustard, 2 or 3 slices of cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Twelve dollars. This same sandwich at Sprouts is 5.99 and has more cheese on it. I get that Nugget is a local specialty store, but this is outrageous. I also had the red potato salad and couldn't eat it. It was just not good, barely any flavor except dill. I don't know how you can make such flavorless potato salad. I'm sad and still hungry. read more

This review is based on a catered food. Caesar salad: the lettuce was crisp and fresh. The croutons were herby and garlicky. The dressing was standard. Quinoa salad: it has great flavor and was not salty. I enjoyed the edamame for extra protein. Roast beef sandwich: the beef was tender and the bread was soft and chewy. I would've like it with some horseradish. Veggie sandwich: the mushroom, eggplant, arugula, and roasted pepper really works well together. I enjoy this sandwich. They stated they had someone call out and he did not prep and needed to help the sandwich area who already had 4 people making sandwiches. I asked for a few and he told me he has no time. This review is based on today's (06/27/2026) experience at the cafe. We prefer the smoothies at Nugget over Jamba, however, today was a bad experience. We are at the counter ordering our items, speaking to the employee and she is looking out the window the entire time. We ordered 2 smoothies (without whip) and an Acai bowl. We get an our smoothies with whip and the bowl. The smoothies were like juices instead. Not thick... very liquidy. Not the usual quality of drinks. Went back and asked for whip. We got our whip and a whole lot of attitude to go with it. Horrible way to spend $40. read more

Love Nugget - though we tend to go to food4less (same owner to my knowledge or wouldn't post that) in town more frequently, we come to Nugget for special items, often from the Secret Special and to get fancy cheese. Service always friendly, food fresh, and good variety. Great deli and meat counter with ready to eat food options. Last year we got tomahawk steaks for Father's Day on secret special, I'll be headed back this week for another one (or three)! Ambiance of a high quality grocery store. Recommend. read more

UPDATE-PROBLEM SOLVED. THANKS RODNEY! Nugget is still a great market! Ordered a two bone standing rib choice roast for Christmas. Paid $92 for the thing but we always cook one for Christmas. In the past the meat from Nugget has been really good. Not this time! It was grisly and overly fatty. So disappointing especially after cooking these roasts for Christmas for the past 40 years. Very sad. I will be looking for another source for standing ribs in the future. read more

I've used nugget market for years for ordering cakes and cupcakes for my daughter and her birthday, which comes around in May. This weekend in particular we just got a diagnosis that she has gluten allergy so she's gluten-free now and I ordered 24 regular cupcakes for her friends and a few for her gluten-free. They were so helpful. Absolutely great about a week ago whenever I called to accommodate this request. I called this morning because I need to get them one hour earlier than I had planned so I asked to pick them up at two rather than three and here we are 10 AM and I can actually pick them up now. They're ahead of schedule. I love it. This place is the best. I recommend them hands-down. Maria helped me this morning to let me know and I just want to thank them for their awesome customer service and being ahead of schedule. They took a lot of stress off of me today and I appreciate that. I highly recommend them for all of your bakery needs. read more

Kaylene went above and beyond to ensure that my son's 1st bday cake will be everything that I'd asked for. It was beautiful and delicious! I have been ordering our celebratory cakes from this location for the past few years--baby shower, birthdays, theme cakes, etc. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the store is always nice and clean. they decline to cut a full cake for 2 slices on a friday... mind you, this is at the end of the night on a FRIDAY LOL. the same place that has no issue selling old cakes that have been packaged days before and dried out. ridiculous. if someone wants to buy slices of a fresh cake at the end of the week and night... why not? just straight up annoying and makes no sense. so i guess they're ok with selling this untouched cake on the following day Sat/Sunday DRIED OUT!! kudos to whoever does or doesn't buy this cake on the weekend or PAST the weekend. they obviously care more about selling the cake as a whole PAST its date than selling it in slices when its still fresh. read more

Great place for groceries but it would be nice if they got rid of their gray plastic bags. They have a strong oder that irritates my nostrils. Possibly toxic? So I decided to switch to paper instead. But for those that get plastic, I'm just letting you know. Also, it would be nice if cold Chinese food was available again instead of hot because I can't purchase hot with my ebt. Deli department and the coffee and juice bar have zero personality. We've been coming to this location for almost 3 years and it's always the same experience with those two departments. We are always greeted at the bakery or at the cash registers and treated nicely, which we appreciate. The only other thing that really bothers me is the dust build up on the ceilings, vents, etc. I've worked in a grocery store, cafes, restaurants and that's a big no, no. Especially around food! Customer service is really important and thank you to the staff at Nugget that actually care and make an effort but as for the deli and coffee/juice, you guys need to be better. read more

I am a frequent Nugget shopper and have always had a pleasant experience with employees until recently. The past two times I have gone to the juice bar, the customer service has been extremely poor. There is no greeting, and the employees taking orders are constantly having conversations with each other as I am ordering. The most recent time I went, the employee taking orders was a rather short guy with brown hair and he did not speak or have his full attention on customers. I'm a big fan of the smoothies and bowls, but I wish my experience as a customer/guest could be better. read more

I think that people should know what to expect when going to a grocery store like Nugget- it's more expensive than Walmart, Grocery Outlet, Raley's, ETC, but they also try to source from local businesses so of course it's going to cost more. They also take time for their staff, which is knowledgeable and courteous. On multiple times I have asked staff members where something is and they will literally walk you to the product or try to find it for you. Most other places will just tell you what aisle to hunt down. Personally, I have also had the best experiences at the meat counter and with their butchers. I have always gotten very high quality cuts of beef and fish at this Nugget, which I definitely appreciate since the cost can be quite high. At Nugget I have never had any staff be rude to me. At another local grocery store, whenever I go to the butcher counter and ask for steaks or a pound of shrimp, I always get an attitude like I am taking the guy away from something else. Literally every time I go into the other place, I feel like I am interrupting his day by asking him for two steaks out of the case. Nugget Market has the friendliest staff and never have surly service. The cheese and wine selection is amazing if you need another reason! They have the little bin of leftover bits of cheese if you want to buy a couple of those and try something new. I feel like a 1/4 of their store is dedicated to wine, beer, spirits, and cheese, which to me is a good thing! If you're lucky, their is an attendant in the cheese area who can help you choose a new cheese based off your tastes.
