My first time in to Blue Note was the 2019 Yolo Farm to Fork Swirl and Slice Food, Wine, and Beer Walk. My work recently had a gathering and the weather was great for patio seating. Booths, umbrella tables, and bigger tables. Dog-friendly! Since it was Tuesday, the food that day was Heavy D's which had street tacos, nachos, quesadillas...I got three tacos, asada, pollo and adobada. They also had carnitas! Next time I might go for one of their pizzas or pretzel offerings, and an actual beer. I stuck with a non-alcoholic mango cranberry slush although they did also have some NA beer options as well. Water is self-serve inside near the patio entry, bins above the trash cans to bus your glasses. Neat to see their calendar has events such as industry night, trivia, run club, game night, Scottish country dancing, live music (rock, folk, funk, R&B, jazz, blues), arts & crafts, even a luau! read more

Wrapping up our vacation with some wood fire pizza and beer. For pizza we had the confession. It was delicious with some really nice cheese pulls. I particularly enjoyed the sausage in the pizza as it had really good flavor. I had a flight of beers ranging from sours to a hazy ipa. I particularly enjoyed the Haze Zeus with the pizza. The service was order at the counter and pick up food when the buzzer beckons. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We choose I door as there was a band outside. My wife and I had a delicious pizza and beer. The pilsner choices were great while my wife ordered a nice lager. The pizza was a half cheese and half pepperoni. The flavor was outstanding! The atmosphere was vibrant for a Friday afternoon at 4:30. Lots of locals visiting enjoying a cold beer, chatting it up. The front cashier was friendly, explained the variety of beers for our palate. The place was inviting and spotless. Wood burning pizza ovens added a nice flavor. I would definitely go back for the beverages, food and coordinate a time to enjoy live music and be taught some line dancing. Way to go Blue Note! read more

What a beautiful brewery in stunning Woodland California! 15 minutes away from the airport, opens at noon so it was a perfect spot to chil right before our trip back home. Staff were kind and had great recommendations according to each of our palates. You see a variety of locals and visitors just hanging out having a good time and though we didn't get to see it, there is live music later during the day. I was in the area recently to assist our local Community Ambassador with a Yelp Elite Event in Davis, and asked her for a nearby brewery recommendation. She suggested Blue Note, located just up the road in Woodland, and mentioned they also served wood-fired pizza. Yes, yes, and yes! We met there on a Friday afternoon, just as they opened, and watched the place fill quickly with local beer-lovers. I grabbed a pint of their Los Cabos Mexican lager (with a slice of lime, of course), and she tried their rice lager, and we sat down for some co-working. OMG the Los Cabos was delicious! I've developed a huge fondness for Mexican lagers over the past few years, and this one ranks right up there as one of the best I'd had. It was cold, crisp, and the perfect antidote to a long week of work, travel, and events. In fact, it was so good, I got a second pint to enjoy with our pizza. For food, we ordered their Learning Garden pizza and added chicken. This yummy pie featured their homemade red sauce, gooey mozzarella, red onion, mushroom, and artichoke heart - topped with tender, fresh-smoked chicken. It paired amazingly with the Los Cabos, though I suspect it would be delicious with just about any beer. I really loved this space - it reminded me of some of my favorite PNW breweries closer to home, with its spacious interior with exposed brewing equipment, large patio with heaters, and incredibly friendly service. I mean, the beertender even remembered me by name as we left - impressive! My only regret is I'm not there right now to enjoy a pint, and maybe try one of their yummy sounding specialty pizzas (I missed seeing that menu until we'd already ordered our food). Blue Note Brewing Company is about a mile from my house, and a spot we hit on a weekly basis. My go to drink is always one of the ciders, and my spouse enjoys 9 lives. My favorite days to go are Taco Tuesday for Heavy D's Tacos, or Thursdays which is our normal date night, where we enjoy pizza from their pizza oven. They do trivia nights, runs, book clubs and other events. Staff are great and weekends they typically have live music. My sister & I came here Sun 5/18 to see the incredible Papa Day Blues Band. We sat outside under the covered patio and shared a picnic table with another couple. We went inside, and ordered a few beers. After getting a few tasters I decided on the City of Bees $7.00 & my sister got the Chewhoppa $8.00, which were both good. For food we ordered the Cheese Bread $12, which was actually a thin crust cheese pizza with garlic butter, which was then cut into strips. My sister got an order of Classic Pizza Rolls $9.00 both items took about 15 mins in their incredibly huge wood fired pizza oven, and were deliciously hot & crispy. The ambiance was lively on a Saturday afternoon. We got an IPA, a Pumpkin Ale and The Key Lime Pie Sour and all were really good. The service is counter service but the staff was friendly and inviting and happy to provide samples if you can't decide. I like their rules posted about children in the party, in this day and age I wish every brewery adapted them as the recent trend of hosting kid centered events at breweries has gotten out of hand with kids running rampant and parents checked out not caring their kids are annoying the other patrons. read more

What an amazing place for brews. Stopped in Woodland for the night and dropped by this brewery for dinner. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Loved that they had live music that night that I was there. Pizza was better than ok. I won't complain. I suppose I was just surprised with their last call on pizza being earlier than expected. But let's talk about the beer. I love IPAs and they have quite the selection. I got 3 tasters and opted for their Nine Lives West Coast IPA and the Double IPA. Tubule Note Brewing Company labels themselves as a nano-brewery. I'm not sure what that means. What I do know is that they have quite a nice variety of beers. They also serve cider and wine. The beers range from the standards such as pilsner, various IPAs, pale ale, and kolsch to a rice lager and a pumpkin ale. Many of the beers are "gluten reduced." The beers are good and the ambience is too. If you like beer, I highly recommend giving Blue Note Brewing Company a visit. read more

Wow just wow..This place is spectacular..I went here to see my friends band..So so much parking and it's free..sweet..As you walk into the brewery your surrounded by venders a tie dye clothes place a place to get cool authentic homemade kitchen supplies and so much more.. Then you're semi turned to an huge outdoor seating with tons of benches facing the stage and the live music was playing..The acoustics were awesome..We walked into the inside of the brewery and this place was giant reminded me of a huge barn like feel.. They had a large selection of beers on tap and bottle water for all you non drinkers. We found a booth and were able to stay cool inside for awhile hear the music and drink our beers.. I was here with My in-laws and wife..We all enjoyed ourselves and got many different types of beers and even walked a bit outside to see the different bands perform.. Luckily I took many pictures so you can experience what your visit here may be like .. Definitely worth a visit to see your favorite band and get a nice cold beverage.. read more

It's been several years since I last reviewed Blue Note and I'm excited to say that their beers have come along way! When they first opened, the beers were okay, limited, and standard. Now they have new twists and taps almost every week, with a variety of styles where just about any palate can find a brew or two to enjoy. I've been here 4 times in the last month and find myself looking forward to returning to see what's new! The Heidi Kolsch is my go-to favorite. It is light, crisp, and not too sweet. Their IPA's are tasty too, with some diversity in the mix from hazy, tropical notes, to bitter, citrusy notes. I'm hoping they might do a throwback to the early 2000's when floral IPA's became trendy... I miss those, but know I am the minority. The service is always friendly and accommodating. Last trip, my server innovated and poured me a half-half of two IPAs that I liked, but were too "much" of one flavor each. Combined they were awesome! (Citra Kai Orange IPA and Those Darned Customers). Most evenings they have a food truck, too. read more

My friend and I were heading home from a trip to nor cal and I needed a driving break. I found this spot through Yelp! It was in Woodland on our way down the 5. When we got there, there was live music from a band playing 90's covers. I really enjoyed the band. I got a pint of beer and ordered a personal pizza from the onsite mobile pizza truck. "Favorite Brewery in my Favorite Town!" If you're not familiar with Woodland, you are in for a real treat. Drive or bike around some of the beautiful streets nearby. It reminds me of Mayberry! If you don't know what Mayberry is, that's because you're too young. Ask your grandma. This business is open, but you have to take your beer outside. The day that I visited they also were grilling hamburgers. Hamburgers and beer--just what the doctor ordered. To comply with local laws, you have to get a food voucher. That is, you can't just order beer. Today I ordered a kolsch called Heidi for $6. On a warmish summer afternoon, it doesn't get any better than this. To be honest, I was a little preoccupied when we came in on a cold rainy day for a cold one. My son, his wife and this new bundle of joy, my grandson had my focus. I've been to enough of these tap houses to know what to look for and they hit all the marks very well. Outside covered seating, inside seating, walk up bar, selection board, friendly service and a very clean set rest rooms. I was kind of tired...lol. I do love seeing the brewery brewing. Their beer was great, however, the day we were there they didn't have any food in the brewery just a food truck parked outside. It was Mexican food and resembled fair food. The nachos were a bunch of chips in a basket with squeeze cheese put on the top and the tacos were I guess authentic, no salsa or cheese. Not very tasty. I only hear good things about this place so I decided to try it Friday night. I don't have a driver's license at the moment so I carry with me my Government issued Passport identification card. When I went up to purchase a drink she asked for my ID and I, of course, handed her my passport card. She proceeded to tell me that she had never heard of passport cards and basically told me I was making it up. She was very young looking with a short pixie cut (red hair I believe) and I told her no it's real I use it on airplanes and everywhere I go. You can scan it. She just looked at it and said that it wasn't real. And she wouldn't help me and maybe if I go to another bar they might "believe me" And mind you: I am about to turn 24, look my age and am fully tatted. So I don't even look like a person who would need to fake it. It was extremely unprofessional Recommendation: maybe have some training for the bartenders on what passport cards are. I've been to Blue Note about 3-4 times since they opened. Which is not a whole lot considering my affinity for craft beer and their location. I know, I feel like I should give some more love back. Because Blue Note is a truly cool spot and they make some tasty beer. If you're coming from out of town do not follow the GPS as it will take you to Dead Cat Alley (yup, that's the actual name) but drive on on Court St and park in the back. The back patio is nice, comfy and spacious and there is no lack of seating inside either. No food, but you can BYO. BArtenders are all very nice and quick, they'll also let you taste first if you can't decide if you're ready for a full pour of something you haven't tried. The beer is pretty good and Hopamine Pale is my go-to pretty much every visit. Next time I'm in Woodland I'll make sure to check out Blue Note again. They've been around for a while now and with the very cool setup and improving beer, there's a lot in store for the future. read more
