This coffee shop was recommended by my son who lives in a nearby town. It's a bit off the beaten path, but it is worth the small detour. It's the best place to get a cold brew of coffee. A coffee shop in Rockingham recommended it because they got their coffee from them. My son and I have been going here for a few years. Cactus Creek is a locally-owned shop that does its own coffee roasting. It's a to-go place where you can buy bags of whole bean or ground coffee (and bottles of flavorings), but I could also see this as evolving into a go-to place for relaxing while you have your specially roasted or flavored coffee. Maybe someday they will. Although Cactus Creek specializes in roasting and selling beans and the accoutrement, they also have a coffee bar in the corner. The coffee drinks are all reasonably priced and consistent with other places, but because you know it's a local place and not a chain, the coffee seems to taste better I was able to buy the single serving coffee packs to try out before I make the commitment for a full bag. Most of the available flavors for ground coffee were too sweet for my liking but there were one or two, cinnamon and pumpkin spice, that if they taste as good as they smell, I'll probably enjoy a lot. The employees are really good at helping you pick something while explaining the differences between the different beans. And if you ask nicely, the woman who designed the Cactus Garden out front might allow you to take one of the prickly pear blooms/fruit when it's in season. The fact that this place roasts its own coffee, and they know so much about coffee, puts it head shoulders above any other cafe I have been in my entire life. Full disclosure: I have not tried their coffee, I am reviewing based on the customer service only. Was seeking a tamper for my husband as a last minute stocking stuffer/gift. Looked up Cactus Creek and decided to give them a shot. Spoke with Mike who searched his office but could only come up with a used one that he didn't feel right selling me. The young woman working there did a quick search on line of where I might be able to find one in the area. I was really touched by the service and time spent helping me out. They are located off the fray from 15/501, but definitely worth checking out in lieu of other coffee chains. I would return in a heartbeat next time I'm in town. read more

Not a convenient location, but a great cup of coffee. I prefer a nice clean espresso, and was not disappointed. Great variety of flavored coffee as well, smells great inside. If you like a flavored coffee, they have a great variety. Most are flavored in the roasting, not by adding a sugar syrup after the brew, so a milder flavor, with a great aroma, and less sugar. This vendor is great. They are family in business and family oriented in hospitality. The coffee is superb. We travel to the area to see kids and grandkids and Cactus Creek is always an early stop. We have purchased two excellent tampers also and the service has always been the best. It's been several years now and it's the same, not fancy, but teriffic smelling place. read more

I make our lattes at home and this is absolutely the best place to go for good, rich coffee.. a multitude of flavors are available if that's your thing but for me..a plain latte is telling... and these folks know theirr beans!!! read more

I was in town for work and found this gem. They roast their own coffee and are much better than Starbucks. It was a very friendly atmosphere with great coffee and great prices. For a small cup of coffee it was 99 cents, including tax. If you live in the area they have an awesome coffee mug deal I highly recommend. read more

Visited this location this past Saturday for the first time to try out their locally roasted coffee. Picked up 2 ounce packages of their Roastmasters Premium Blend and Colombian Supremo beans to experiment with. After grinding, brewing and drinking these two products I must say that the worst grocery store coffee is superior these selections. No aroma and weak taste. Almost undrinkable. I could not differentiate between them by flavor. Both were equally bad. I hope this is not typical of the other varieties they sell. That said, there is no reason for me to go back to this business. read more

We have been going there for a few years now and really enjoyed the coffee and the service, that is until last Christmas. We were treated very rudely to the point where we had decided we were never going back again. Then we decided that maybe it was just a certain person having a bad day and we'd give them another chance. Well!! We gave them another chance and the service was still horrible, things were rung up wrong and we left with a feeling of not wanting to go back. Cactus creek has amazing coffee and the staff is wonderful! If you love coffee I would highly recommend checking them out. I love that you are able to purchase sample sizes so you can try out several different kinds before buying a large bag and finding out it's not quite what you are looking for. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You can purchase regular varieties of coffee, flavored beans, syrups, and a variety of other coffee related items. It may be a little more costly than what you can buy at the grocery store but it is worth every penny! read more
