There are so many breweries, taprooms bars around the valley. Whatever you choose to all them there's definitely a chance you'll find one you love or have. We stopped on our way to check this spot out since we didn't know when we'd be in the area again. You won't find food at Cactus Taproom so if you're looking for a glass of whine, beer or a little of both this may be your spot. What caught my eye was they offer flights. I love flights because you get to try a little of quite a few to see what you like or don't. When we pulled into the lot I was surprised at how small it is. There is a bar of course, a handful of high top tables and a small patio. The place was packed. We somehow managed to snag the last available table. It was full of definite locals as many seemed familiar with each other. There was one man running the bar and though very busy he was friendly, patient and no one seemed to be having to wait long for drinks. The place was clean. I thought it was cool that they offered many fridges of different beers etc to purchase and take home or of course drink while there. If you read my reviews I love sour beers and this is part of why we came here. I tried both they had on tap and unfortunately wasn't a fan of either. We will have to come back and maybe try a few in the fridge section. I didn't want to try anything else and risk mixing wine etc. good local spot of just wanted to have a few drinks alone or with friends. read more

Very friendly service. The staff were very kind and helpful. The NA stout and pretzels were great. I personally can't quite give this place a 5 star because as a sober person, it's a little harder for me to enjoy a place where they don't have appetizers or snacks other than prepackaged items. A very fun spot with a robust selection of craft beers for all types of tastes. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and always spot on with their recommendations whenever I am on the fence with what I want to try. Several canned selections are also available in their coolers that you can't find anywhere else so we always try and grab something new to take home with us. It's smaller than most taprooms I've been to but rarely overcrowded so it still has that quaint neighborhood feel. A must stop to grab a pint or two for almost any occasion. read more

I feel like we were misled coming here. We were looking for a craft brewery. This place is advertised as a craft brewery, but they don't make their own beer, and if they do, they should put it on their menu, because it's not there. If they just sell other places beer, you can get that anywhere. If they do sell their own beer, they should advertise it, because they don't. We also looked up a place for food. At the bar it says "outside food welcome." They have chips and jerky. No menu for food. No food. If you like IPAs and sours, this is your place. If you like sitting in a small room watching professional disc golf and MMA fighting, this is your place. If you're looking to try small batch, craft beer that is locally sourced, this might be your place, but if you're looking for a place which brews its own beer and has food, you'll have to go somewhere else. read more

Great place to sit down and try some excellent craft brews! Knowledgeable staff can really help if you're looking for something specific. Further it's an awesome place to pick up some take home stock! Rare to find a place with so many choices of both local and non-local craft beer that you can try and then buy some to take home. They also serve wine and snacks, but here's a really cool kicker, they allow OUTSIDE food in their establishment! So if your local food purveyor doesn't have a beverage that agrees with your pallet, get their food to go and drop in for a pint or two to go along with your food. And p.s. they don't require you to bring enough to share. Most places offer several IPA's these days and the standard boring brews, but these folks have so many different types of brews from IPA's, Wheat beers, Stouts and more! This small beer pub is one that you really should try. When you enter there is a L-shaped bar and tables in the middle of the pub and a small outdoor seating area. There is a rotating number of draft beers where you can find something for everyone. Ipa's, Sours, Ale, Cider and more. There are glass door refridgerators on one wall with more selections to enjoy there or take home. They can also fill growlers. No food service unless you call gourmet pretzels a meal. Had a quick turn around trip to Phoenix for work and decided to visit my friend and her amazing family who now live in Surprise. I wanted to have a drink with her, away from the kids and treated her to a place where she could have her suburban glass of wine and I could try a new local brew. I knew she would rather be away from the "city" and seeing how there was nothing in Surprise that looked tolerable from my perspective, I used yelp to find Cactus Taproom in nearby Peoria. Tried the Dankworth IPA from Wren House Brewing Company. It was delicious and definitely suggest it. What really made this place a five-star review wasn't the delicious beer, which definitely helped, but more so the great atmosphere provided by this spot. Folks having fun, knowledgeable and friendly employees, and its affordable. I noticed that you can bring your own food or maybe bring in food from neighboring business too. If you are feeling hungry, they have snacks and you can order from The Rec and That Place for sandwiches which are both delicioso! This is one of my favorite taprooms and a bonus that I live nearby. We brought a pizza from across the street, as their food choices are limited to snacks. Patio small but nicely set up. Music a bit loud but good selections for a younger crowd without scaring seniors away. Not the run of the mill standard bar beers or the single local ale, but good stuff you aren't picking up at most places. Both on tap and in the coolers. Been coming here since they've opened, my home base when parched. Tyler and Carrie are terrific, and their operation is a reflection of them, and the real reason why us "locals" come back.
