Went for lunch at 1230 on Thursday. Only 2 ladies working so service was a bit slow. We ordered the birria dip, smoked meat platter, chopped blt salad with shrimp, brisket sandwich and the dirty fry bar. The shrimp had a heavy salt coating, which I didn't care for. The brisket and birria sandwiches were amazing. The smoked meat platter was some good and some not. The turkey was heavy white pepper and it detracted from the flavor, the brisket was amazing. My husband and I have been regulars for a while. Decent food, overpriced drinks, but okay for a 'splurge'. But what is up with the half-naked wait staff? It seems every time we have gone in, more and more skin gets exposed. Yeah, I'm old fashioned, but if you want a 'classy' place, which the interior is, put something on your staff besides string tank tops and skin tight jeans or shorts . Heck, even gyms don't allow that sort of stuff. Come on. Peoria needs a classy casual place, not a peep show! Don't expect us to come back. What a disappointment. read more

They run a burger special on Wednesdays. For $15 you get a burger, fries, and beer. It's a really great deal! Their food is delicious and so was the beer. We sat at the bar and watched the end of the US vs Bosnia World Cup match. The seats are pretty comfortable and the service was excellent. Been a bit since I've been. About 3 or so weeks! I hadn't been in on a Sunday, so here is what happened! Greeted at the door and sat promptly! At the back wall where I can see everything! It was fairly busy at 1:00 pm, a lot of staff and they were on it . The food was good as always. I appreciate that they have brunch menu. And it gives you a good selection to choose from. Today PAB burger and dirty fries! Wife had brisket sandwich without the egg! Both were excellent! Requested an old fashion and it was excellent tasted just like the others that I've had from other bartenders. Being consistent with food and drinks is impressive especially the drinks! An awesome early dinner on PAB's nice patio. We took advantage of great Happy Hour pricing for food and drink. Our server was patient, helpful, and kind. And did I mention patient? I don't drink much beer any more but I appreciate a good brewskie. She took the time to share some samples and make recommendations. I ended up with the Coffee Stout that was smooooooth and creamy. We also had chicken bites which were phenomenal; Mac and cheese fit for a princess, buffalo cauliflower, and, of course, those dirty fries. I do have to say that I think they've changed the dirty fries since the last time I was there. I remember them as skinnier and lighter and not as heavy. Am I wrong? It's been a while since my last visit. I love it when I bring a guest to an establishment that makes a positive impression on them! I highly recommend PAB. SOLID local restaurant/brewery. The food is made from scratch and very good. We ordered the dirty fries with BBQ, Ranch, Aoli, and cheese fondue. My favorite sauces are definitely the house made BBQ and the Aoli. I think the cheese pairs well with the pretzel app but I feel the cheese fondue lacked a little bit of flavor compared to the other sauces. Delicious ranch here but the way! The fries have a slightly sweet seasoning similar to wingstop and they also taste like fresh cut potatoes. I also ordered the PAB Wings as my meal and they were delicious. They have a dry rub and are tossed in a buffalo sauce. The dry rub is perfectly salty, zesty, slightly acidic/sweet. The buffalo is not your typical buffalo that has a straight forward vinegar flavor and it's much lighter which actually pairs much better with that tasty dry rub. It is paired with pickled veggies. Personally I still prefer celery/carrots just because it's a classic and is much more mellow to pair with the flavorful wings but I am a pickle lover so I still enjoyed it. I am a beer drinker but I don't necessarily explore a lot of breweries unless I'm there for the food. I really enjoyed one of their beers I ordered and they also had one of my favorite beers - Cali Creamin. They do have a speakeasy located in the restaurant called Barley and Smoke which requires a reservation to visit. To enter you must go through the kitchen and I definitely want to visit it sometime in the near future. Service was great and the food came out in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is fairly small but every time we have gone, which is twice as of now, there hasn't been a wait. Very casual and there is also outdoor seating. Our waitress both times were great! I asked about the speakeasy this last time and she gave me a print out which was sort of an invitation to the speakeasy. I'm glad I asked so I can make a reservation. I would highly recommend this place! Delicious food, good beer, and exceptional service! read more

I checked out Peoria Artisan Brewery on a dreary Wednesday evening for dinner and some brews. Located in a shopping center next to a sports bar, the parking lot was pretty packed but there were open spots. I made my way to the front and was seated at a booth in the corner next to the kitchen. Ambiance (4/5): While a relatively small bar/restaurant, Peoria Artisan Brewery has a lot of charm. This gastropub has great ambiance and you can choose to sit at the bar or at a table or booth. There's a window where you can see where their beer is brewed which is pretty awesome. My only real complaint is that they have single bathrooms, one male and one female. That means you're going to be waiting if someone is in there. Service (4.5/5): Our waitress did a great job taking care of us. The perfect mix of attentiveness, a friendly nature, and efficiency. While they close at 9 on Wednesdays, which is pretty early, they allowed us to stay a little later than closing time and didn't rush us to leave or anything. Drinks (4/5): Like I do at most breweries, I went with a flight so I could get a good variety. There were really only 4 beers that stroke my fancy on the menu: a hefeweizen, two lagers, and an amber ale. I'm not a big fan of IPAs or dark beers so this automatically knocked out some of the options. All four beers were tasty but they have different prices so keep that in mind: you're going to pay a different price for a flight depending on the beers you select. They also have a full menu of wine and cocktails which is not something you come across at a lot of breweries. Food (4.5/5): Our waitress told me that everything is made from scratch which I always appreciate. They have a special on Wednesday where you can get their burger with bacon jam, fries, and a beer for $13.50. Great deal so this is what I went with. No substitutions are allowed so if you don't like something, you're going to have to take it off yourself. They also ask you how you'd like your burger cooked. Mine came out juicy and the bacon jam added some nice sweetness to complement the fluffy brioche bun. Add some cheese and a large tomato and you have yourself a solid burger. The fries were also delicious and sprinkled with salt and pepper. You get both ketchup and an aioli as dipping sauces. If burgers aren't really your thing, they also have daily specials (including taco Tuesday) and happy hour (with discounts on appetizers and drinks). Plus, a full menu of other sandwiches, soups, salads, and entrees. And they have smoked specials Thursday-Sunday. I love good deals. Here's the icing on the cake. There's a speakeasy inside. While I didn't get a chance to check it out, I will definitely return to do so. read more

We were back in for a Saturday lunch on this last day of August. Again, the service and the food was amazing. We decided to try something new. We ordered: BURRATA - Tomato, Peach, Grilled Bread, Pumpkin Seeds, Basil, Balsamic Reduction to share as a starter. I loved this dish. The peaches were nice and hard, not mushy. I loved how they tasted with the Burrata and the tomatoes & acid were a nice touch. The bread on the side was also very good. Hubs commented on the bread as well. SMOKED CLASSICS - From Thursday thru Saturday, Chef Michael presents classic house smoked BBQ influenced by Southern and Southwest Cooking Style & Culture. Today it was the Pulled Pork Sandwich. The sandwich was pretty darn good. I also really loved the pickles and sauce. I'm surprised I ate almost the entire thing. I got lots of yummy burnt ends. The pulled pork was flavored well. BREWER'S SALAD - a special today of Farro, Arugula, Butternut Squash, Beets, Green Apple, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, & Brewer's Vinaigrette tossed in. (This vinaigrette was so yummy. It was made in-house with Freedom American Lager, Champagne Vinegar, Thyme, Mustard, & other ingredients) Must Try! WINGS - 6 or 8 w/ Pickled Vegetables Choice: Dry Rub, Buffalo or PAB Hot. We got eight wings with PAB Hot. Hubs said they were very good large traditional wings with a very crisp skin but moist meat. Nice, casual atmosphere just like you'd expect for a local brewery and in the 'burbs. Food was fantastic overall. We started with the Dirty Fry Bar, a great idea for an appetizer . . . you choose 4 sauces from a flight of 6 options. We went with the Cheddar Fondue, Gorgonzola Cream, Buffalo and BBQ with the Cheddar Fondue, Buffalo and BBQ being particularly outstanding. The Gorgonzola Cream was okay. Took a risk (I'm a more tried-and-true burger person) on the Bahama Mama Burger, but it was great. The patty was a good quality and the combination of grilled onions, pineapple and mango was actually quite tasty, none of the individual ingredients being particularly overpowering as I feared might be the case. Then came the chocolate cookie baked in a skillet with caramel and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. To say it was great is an understatement. :) The Blackberry Thyme Out was excellent and in a very appealing presentation. We sat a the bar which had just one person manning it, but it is a small bar and she did a great job. Friendly and attentive given it was a Friday night. read more

It took a bit to find two chairs that weren't covered in bird droppings, but honestly that's my only complaint. Everything else was amazing. The staff was amazing - friendly and hospitable. Upon learning we hadn't eaten there before our waitress brought us out a dinner menu so we could see a typical fare. We were there during brunch time, but jumped at the offer to have a brisket sandwich which wasn't listed. I also opted for a margarita. The brisket sandwich was fantastic. The meat was so tender it practically fell apart. The fries were great too - seasoned wonderfully, crisp but not too crisp, and the margarita was so good I had two! The other employees would pause upon delivering drinks or food to ask how we were doing and give future suggestions. It was a great brunch! read more

We also ordered the Southern Man medium rare which was a great burger, and we had the Dirty Fry Bar with all the sauces, the fries had a nice seasoning. This place has, by far, the best burger I've ever enjoyed. I've had a few! I ordered the Southern Man Burger and the beef was the star of the show. The Dirty Fries were good and salty and the beers were flavorful, original (especially for a craft brewery). Nicole was our server and was efficient and positive for a busy Saturday night. I created a flight of their own beers with a unique variety (Bodacious Blueberry, Honeysuckle Ale, Derailed Porter, Free Scottie Amber Lager) and added in a pretzel. Attentive and well informed server Taylor added to the experience. It will be even better to go in cooler weather when the garage door can be lifted and the outdoor dog friendly patio can be better appreciated for dining outside. Although the warm pretzel was good, the dip was bland and $11 for a pretzel is just too steep. Overall, my friend and I agreed the prices could use some lowering, but maybe they are counting on people using coupons or maybe there are happy hour specials, but this area shouldn't have Scottsdale prices if they want to draw local regulars. read more

Had an early dinner here, ate at the recommendation of a friend. All of us had a smoked meat combo platter that was really great. The cocktails were spot on, atmosphere perfect (from music to lighting to noise level) and our server was awesome. Our friends recommended this joint when we were craving burgers and i was very impressed! The fries were so tasty i wish we ordered more, it reminded me of Wingstop fries but with more spices. I split the PUB burger with my friend since I'm usually picky with my burgers but it was so delicious! I'll definitely order my own next time. It cost $2 to split which i wish our server would have told us because we could have just split it on our own lol. Either way still very tasty and a great experience. The blackberry margarita was also delicious and strong, i was pretty tipsy afterwards. 3Burgers, 2 Fries, and 3 drinks ended being $93 which was kind of pricey in my opinion during Happy Hour. My crony and I decided to try their burgers here. Service was amiable but very slow. I tried out their PAB&J burger simply because I've never tried a peanut butter and jelly burger ever before. Both of us agreed that the meat patties weren't very good. The cherry jam took up most of the flavor and there was very little peanut butter. Note that unlike other sit down restaurants, their burgers do not automatically come with sides and they cost anywhere from $14-$17.50. We both felt that the dirty fries was way better than the burgers. Also, this is the first restaurant ever to charge us an unannounced "open food" charge which we had no idea what this was. We've been coming here for years and I'm kicking myself over the fact that I haven't yet taken the time to review this wonderful location. Everything is craft and made from scratch on site so you know you're always getting the freshest beer and food possible. I am a huge fan of their pretzel. It's a great value during happy hour and cooked to perfection with a fondue style beer cheese dipping sauce. While they tend to lean on the IPA side for beers, I've never found something that I didn't like as a fan of lagers and blond ales. So there is something for everyone, even a robust craft cocktail selection at the bar. Their patio is one of our favorite spots. Always pleasant to sit there on a nice fall or spring evening and even better if you enjoy the aroma of the smoker they have out there like I do.
