The only good thing is views by the ocean are amazing! I pre purchased the combo pack with the ATV and camel Ride. When we arrived the front desk receptionist did nothing but upsell us. The private tour is not worth it. Yes you get to take your phone but the guide is not allowed to touch your phone. It's pretty hard taking pictures in a bumpy camel or while trying to be safe and drive your atv. It's pointless to do the private tour unless your willing to pay for the picture package. Might as well buy the pictures and save money on a private tour. We were able to get some pictures by using our tripod and also asking some of the beach goers that were near by...they didn't mind :) The guide had a attitude the entire time so that also was a bummer! Went here some time ago. The guy who came with us was horrible. My wife and mom had some trouble riding their atv and he told them to "f**** hurry up" in front of me. He cursed at them because we were left behind. The vehicle was too heavy for my wife's hands so it took her some time to adjusting. The guy who came with us was rude and an ass****. Overall it is very good experience. Just be ready to pay. Yes, there is a $20 entrance fee that is in addition to whatever price you paid. We had the camel tour and they did up-sell to do the ATV to and from the camels for $115 per couple..... I'm on vacation... why not. It worked out. We declined the insurance and had no incidents with damage. Yes they provide you with lockers at no charge. And no phones are allowed so you can be emotionally trapped into purchasing their high priced pictures at the end. Do not think you will take out your phone at the end to take pics at the computer screens. They are hovering over you like a hawk watching your every move. Definitely do not get what you pay for. We had already paid $130 per person, all 8 of us, in order to go on our ATV tours. When we arrived, with our own transportation, they told us we would have to use their not great ATVs. With these ATVs, everybody would have to be able to shift, unless we went up 2 upgrades to purchase the ATVs that do not require shifting. I would imagine most people would not want to shift an ATV. So now we've doubled what we all spent. But yet there's more... Then they said you have to pay for insurance, but if you pay the twice more though, they will graciously (lol) include that. But then they said... You can't take your cell phones. Sorry, we are in Mexico, and we are not all gonna leave our cell phones behind, as we are on the desert/beach with strangers. So they had to OK with a manager that two of us could keep our cell phones. Absolutely ridiculous. Then they wanted each to pay extra if we wanted to take pictures with our phones. That was another $35 per person. It could not just be one person, they required everybody to pay another $35 to carry our phones and take pictures. Is that even legal? I have to say, we've done the ATVs with other tour companies and we've always purchased the pictures. But, they didn't do this to us. Honestly, by this point, we were already to leave. We were getting nickeled and dimed to death. Ruined our experience. Yes, the ATVs were a blast, yes, it was fun riding along the beach, but not being able to share and take photos with your friends, really was ridiculous. About 30 minutes after we returned from our ride, we wanted to look at our photos that they took. But after all that, can you believe our photos weren't even ready??? So by the time we were ready to go, and they still weren't ready, we left without any pictures!!! We will absolutely never go back there, and certainly not recommend it to our friends. He kept trying to mark us up for insurance and when we opted out, he kept telling us that we wouldn't know how to drive the semi automatic, how expensive everything is, that we would be all alone with no one to help us etc. Our only options were to upgrade to an automatic or pay for insurance, both for $100. Finally we got to the check out and he marked up the exchange rate, telling us it was fixed, then changed it? Our group had an AMAZING time during the actual activities. Our goal was to do ATVs + camel ride. We were promised this + tequila tasting for $100. Unfortunately, once we arrived we were told that the $100 package covered the manual ATV but NOT the automatic. If we wanted to do automatic that would be an "upgrade" of $80 + insurance of $45 per person. To be honest, it felt as if these details were purposefully omitted when booking. The group decided on 2 person UTVs which was included in the $100. We then had the option of giving a credit card for incidentals (yeah, right) or paying $47 per vehicle. It was much easier for two people to split the additional $47 fee. Most of us paid in USD, however, one of my friends paid in Mexican pesos. The women at the front overcharged here. Luckily, we caught it & asked for the difference back. This seemed as if it was purposefully done because the women working the front (that took the money), didn't even verify/ re-count the money that was handed to her. It's like she knew what she'd done so she just gave it back w/o a fight. The tour guide was AMAZING. Great safety instructions, charisma & energy. We tipped him well. They don't allow you to take personal photos. You must leave all of your belongings in a locker (this is free). There are photographers stationed around the course to take your pic. After you're finished you have the option to buy the photos. They offered us 1 for $20 or all of them (200+) for $230USD (total was 252 w fees). Those in the group that wanted photos just split the cost. We were given a link to download the pics & a USB with the photos on it. Once we left I realized that the link is only good for 6 days (we weren't told this). Also, after downloading 5 -10 pics the system kept booting me out of the site. I had to repeat this process quite a few times-annoying. The photos themselves were GREAT though! The tequila tasting was short & sweet. Overall, the hidden fees seems a bit "scammy". Riding a camel was my only wish when I came to Cabo a few months ago. We chose this as one of our tours when we did our time share presentation. They told us that we were able to take photos and thought that everything was taken care of. After being picked up from our hotel to do the tour, we had to pay an extra $20 each for the entrance fee and had to put our belongings in a locker and were told that we couldn't take any photos either. I complained to our tour guide, but he said that those were the rules. Cactus ATV Tours also does ATV tours besides the camels rides, so you need to make sure you're with the right group. They also had a small exhibit where you can feed some parrots and take photos with them, before heading out. Afterwards, we got in a shuttle that took us out to where the camels were. Monica was the most decorated camel, which we were lucky enough to ride! We put on our head gear and had to sit with our partner since there weren't enough camels to ride solo. There will also be someone guiding your own camel, so you don't have to worry about safety issues. We got some nice views of a secluded beach during this tour and a professional photographer took photos of us along the way. The ride was pretty short overall, but I still had fun. Each rider also gets to take a photo with a designated camel at the end, but somehow when it was my turn, the camel was not cooperating, so they brought out Monica! I was lucky because she was my favorite. We also got a little tour of some cacti before heading back. I thought that we would get to walk around a bit, but we didn't. We were able to try some different flavors of tequila before having lunch, which was included in the tour. The food was pretty good, but I didn't realize that it was going to be so cold and windy! Our tour guide was super sweet and let me borrow his outerwear and let another person borrow his sweater, and my friend got to use his scarf too. Before you leave, you can purchase the photos that were taken during the camel ride and parakeet feeding if you liked how they turned out. read more

Clean facility, excellent transport, and amazing guide! I did a horseriding tour with Lorena, with whom I felt extremely safe and who clearly knew what she was doing. She was encouraging and the photos were great. I liked that you could buy individual ones and not just a whole photo package for something like $200, which I encountered at other companies. As with other companies in Cabo, expect to pay up the nose for these photos and to not be allowed to take pictures with your own phone. Still, if you're filling out a dating app, now's your opportunity for a photo without a gym selfie, a car selfie, or any kind of selfie. People in my van ride home sounded really happy about this, so it's worth mentioning. Docked one star because guides are clearly encouraged to be aggressive about getting a tip, getting a 5-star review on TripAdvisor for the company, and getting a perfect paper survey review for the company to publish. We had a great time riding the atvs. It took about an hour to get there from our hotel. There's an up charge for everything! We upgraded our atvs from the lowest price available to the next package. They provide a free locker to put your items in, especially your phone. Remember to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and a bandanna/face covering for your face. You can buy face coverings at the venue as well. The ride through the desert was bumpy and rough at times but the ride on the beach was amazing. The view of the water while zipping through the sand was spectacular. You can't use your phone on the tour. Safety first. We had a few tour guides but Oscar was one of the names I remember. Overall we had a pleasant experience BUT it's not for everyone AND there is a couple of hidden fees and attempts to upsell, so be warned. The only reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 3 is because our ATV your guide - Alberto was so great! He was patient and encouraging. So let's start with the cons: we were crammed into a little shuttle and depending when you are picked up, you are sitting up front with the driver all crammed up- thankfully it wasn't a long drive. Once you get to the actual location, they place you in lines depending on the language you prefer. Here is where the upselling begins, they start off by giving you a lot of information -yes it's important but I will say most of this was not given to us prior to booking this tour- such as health insurance and ATV insurance, they honestly do put the fear of god in you about breaking their ATVS and/ or getting into an accident etc. Depending on the tour booked the insurance prince is given - ex: we got a double ATV we payed $35 for the insurance (yes we gave in, rather safe than sorry especially as we had never done this before). We didn't purchase the health insurance option but they do somewhat push it. Another con/upsell attempt is the pictures- you aren't allowed to take your phone (GoPros are allowed) with you for certain tours, so you rely on their photographers to take them for you. They pictures do look good but it's either $22 per picture or $100+ for the usb option. We weren't very impressed to spend the $100. Finally, the shuttle back is very unorganized, they are constantly telling you to hold on and wait for the next one- I understand it's based on the area they need to take you back to but it's not explained to you and so you somewhat just stand there looking like an idiot and just figure it out on your own. Now for the pros: The lockers are free and they are secure. The staff is really friendly and they are bilingual. Alberto our tour guide gave everyone instructions in Spanish and English, made sure everyone was comfortable. He was really nice and funny. The experience was cool but depending on the terrain it can be scary BUT if your an adrenaline junky you will have so much fun! They have a bar, a tequila tasting bar, and a couple of food options. They also have pretty clean bathrooms (this is always a plus!) Overall it was good, would I do this again probably not but I'm glad we did it and had a fun time. read more

BEWARE - this $450 excursion ended up costing $1200 due to bait-and-switch tactics - Negligence from our tour guide resulted in a wreck that left a bride-to-be with stitches and a busted lip 2 days before her wedding - no phones or photos allowed - "2 hour tour" is only actually only 1 hour of riding - Cactus flat out refused to offer any sort of help after the fact. We bought our tickets through Pueblo Bonito concierge for $90. The trip ended up costing $200. - the most affordable ATV trip is mostly in the desert and on low power, stick shift ATVs. The guy at the booth heavily encouraged us to upgrade to the automatic ATVs ($85 more per person) and also a $20 park entrance fee per person. A member of our party was injured. Our tour guide went very fast the entire time, and some of us could keep up, but a member of our party got behind, missed a crucial turn as a result and got in a wreck that required stitches. She told him multiple times she was struggling to keep up and yet he continued. Also, we are experienced riders, so if you've never been on an ATV before, I strongly advise you to reconsider this tour. NO PHONES OR PHOTOS ALLOWED. This is because they have photogs taking paid pictures for you. $20 for 1 photo or $80 for all of them. They are also posted up at various checkpoints throughout the park, which gives off a feeling that you're being watched the entire time. Our guide stopped us down for 15 minutes of our 2 hour excursion to tell us some story about the culture of Baja California. That's nice and all, but I didn't pay $200 to hear some story about grasshoppers, trees and peyote. I paid to ride. I held off on posting this review and first called Cactus to see if they could offer us a *partial* refund to held amend this experience. I did not ask for a specific amount, but some sort of good faith to help amend our experience. I explained that the accident wasn't the main reason, but the fact that our trip was cut short and that we did not get a full 2 hour tour. They refused. Avoid at all costs. read more

The shuttle takes forever for it to take you back to the hotel. We got done with our tour and the shuttle didn't show up for at least 45 mins. We purchased a cmabo excursion ( camel rode and ATV tour) from the booth at our resort. Very easy to set up. We received a physical confirmation form outlining all transportation arrangements. The morning of arrival, we loaded the van and traveled about 30mins to the location. Upon arrival you check in and pay for $20 park fee, add vehicle insurance ($25) and optional medical insurance. After this, you're taken to the locker storage area and fitted for helmets. You are given detailed instructions on ATV use. They also allow you to ride with an instructor if you don't feel comfortable driving. I will saw the semi automatics take a lot more coordination to handle. The ATV route takes you through sand dunes and along the beach. After completion of this, you go back to start area and they give 5 min bathroom break before heading out to the camel tour. We had a brief history your while waiting for the shuttle which was nice. The camel area is on a hill gives you a wonderful view. You can opt for two person or single depending on weight distribution requirement. You can have photos taken with the camels before start. The camel ride is a nice casual pace down hill, along the beach and back around. After arriving back. You can enjoy a free tequila tasting. Photos of tours are available and work better if you can get multiple people to purchase. $200 for a package is a little costly in my opinion. Overall, very amazing tour. They let us open them up all over the beach and little beach canyons. Full throttle and it was bad ass!!! Driving 20 feet from the shoreline break and it was awesome!!! We went to Walmart and got the $205 special knocked down to $155, $20 tip to Luis and Chiro because they were excellent tour guides and I mean excellent! They pick you up and drop you off from wherever you're staying too! Cool little animal, wildlife thing before you start the trip too, which was a nice added touch! Overall, this was the most enjoyed activity our group did in Cabo. Would recommend with a few caveats. Pros: - Private tour was completely worth it. It was great to go with just our group and not be in a line of 35 ATVs. - Views were amazing! We got to ATV right on the beach and enjoy a gorgeous ocean view. - Duration is perfect and you get to go fast! This was not like other ATV tours where you are limited to just first and second gear. We picked up some serious speed! Cons: - You can't bring your camera (or anything other than sunglasses for that matter). They charge $5 for lockers, which is fine, but they charge $150 for a photo package of the pics they take of you (and they're not even super professional). That was a bummer, so we just took pics at the entrance. - Guides are very concerned about safety - almost to a fault. One of them grabbed me by my head (yes, you read that right) in attempt to show me something related to safety. This really put a damper on my experience, but didn't hinder the other girls in my group as the guide was nicer to them. - Bring your wallet. In addition to the additional onsite $40 fee that is specified in the confirmation email, you also have to pay for insurance - otherwise any damages will result in an immediate $7000 charge :( Despite the cons, our group had an absolute blast and would gladly go again for the experience. read more

Kind of confused by reviews because we had a lovely time! My husband booked through the Nobu resort. Bruno was an incredibly fun, informative guide on the private horseback trail ride. Stunning views! We paid extra $150 for phones and didn't end up buying any photo packages. We went directly from Nobu to cactus and waited 5 min. For the return bus back. The horses were SO sweet, calm and well cared for. Knocking a star for constant up selling but if you go with the private horseback ride here, it doesn't seem like they can add on too much compared to ATV/camel/etc. Galloping on the beach with my husband is a new core memory. TOTAL SCAM! Do NOT spend your money on this company. We got hustled at Tamboo beach club by a Cactus rep informing us that we would have a private 3 hour excursion for an ATV tour; $150 US per double quad. 1 hr of transportation and 2 hours of experience. Our pickup was scheduled at 8:15 and when the branded van arrived with other people, we knew we were in for it. Upon arrival, the facility is massive. Shuttling in tourists in and out for ATV, camel rides, horses, etc. Registration takes about 45 minutes, where everything is an upsell; medical insurance, vehicle insurance, private tour vs out with 10-12 vehicles, photo package, etc. (we opted out of all of this) We then had to wait for more people to join our ATV tour in order for the guide to take us out. (Another 20 mins) The actual ATV track is only 20 minutes in length + that was straight from the guides mouth. They try to stop multiple times along the trail for bathroom + water breaks to extend the excursion time, which for our group was not needed. After pressing our guide, he took us around the track twice. We maybe were on the ATVs for 40 mins. Then you get stuck at the facility waiting for transportation back to the hotel for another hour. Our tour ended at 10:45 and the next shuttle wasn't till 12. Cactus offers a free tequila tasting after the tour, food + drink for purchase and area to view the photos (even though we didn't sign up for the photo package). Yes they have "photographers" trail the tour taking photos all along the trail. They want people to stay, spend more money because basically you get stranded till the next shuttle. Originally they told us the shuttles come every 30 mins which is completely incorrect. After vocalizing concern to the manger, as we had a flight to catch - they basically said there was nothing they could do. To make things worse, you can't even call an Uber from this location as you are in the middle of the desert. I asked if they could drop our group of 8 off first or give us a private van and he said it would cost an additional $150. TOTAL SCAM - never again. It's a total bait and switch. If we knew we needed 5 hrs to take part in this, of which 40 is the actual ATV ride, we would have NEVER done this and wasted a half day of our week vacation. Super upsetting that companies like this prey on tourists. We find ourselves to be pretty savvy travelers + asked a ton of questions before signing up. NEVER book with Cactus Tours, they will scam you. We were quoted $480 USD at their location on the marina, $320 of which was a deposit. Everything was set up through an associate at the marina and they shuttled us there no problem. When we got there, the man at the counter started trying to up charge us 100s more than the $480. He was charging us the original price of the ATVs ON TOP OF the deposit we put down. His price he named us would have totaled to $915. We eventually left and the man had the audacity to charge us the shuttle fee of $40 each on the way back. Overall, NEVER NEVER NEVER book with these people or at least make sure they're not charging you more at the counter. We were given a receipt signed by the ACCREDITED man that we gave our deposit to, and then were scammed. The man at the counter was extremely hard to work with and belittled us consistently throughout our entire interaction. Disgusting that tips are expected in a shuttle we paid $40 for. We booked this excursion with our hotel and I'm glad we did it was a great time! We rented the UTV 2 seater with my sister and her husband. Our tour guide was frank he was great! We trail rode and rode along the beach as well. Then stopped at the camel base and got to take pictures with the camels that was pretty cool and we also had a complementary tequila tasting which we surpassed but wish we would have known was included. ** side note our hotel gave us incorrect pricing on entrance fee and insurance so please make sure you get a correct pricing on that. Other wise great time! Also be prepared to be without your phone ( not allowed) they take a ton of pictures but they start at about $100 American money. The fast people were with the front tour guide and the slow were with the back tour guide everything was good until the last 15 minutes when the back tour guide got confident and left the last person in the back just so he can hurry up and get back to base. We lost my uncle and when we told him he laughed about it and said he would show up. My uncle was out there alone. 10 minutes passed until the guy finally decided to go back and look for him. 20 minutes later he was located. BEWARE!!!!! They tell you a price before you go through the hassle of getting there and once your there get ready to pay and extra double the price maybe even 3xs of what you were originally paid! We were a group of 7 that paid 1000$ plus! Don't use them at all costs! 2nd time here and it was better than the first. Each trip was awesome and so glad we brought our friends to experience it with us. We did the sunset ATV beach tour and it was every bit as good as advertised. Where else can you ride on the Pacific Ocean surf without seeing houses or hotels for miles? Chuy was our guide and his pace was perfect. He was very professional and let us take our time with each stop. Petting a camel and feeding birds was a nice new added feature that wasn't part of our first tour. The ride is great, and when you return afterwards, you can do free tequila tasting and grab your free three tacos upstairs. Tacos were on point and hit the spot before the 30ish minute ride back to the hotels in Cabo via their private shuttle service. It will get dusty on the ride. Be sure to bring sunglasses to have on under the face visor from the helmet. It's not bad at all though. They also provide lockers at no charge so you can store all of your belongings safely while you tear it up on the ATVs. We love vacationing in Cabo and we will definitely be back again. The open views of the open ocean beach and an unobstructed sunset view is a memory you can carry for a lifetime. Give this place a shot! You will not be disappointed. read more

First off the Reviews you see on Google are Fake Marketing Ploy! Absolutely No Phone Or Cameras are allowed! The staff is arrogant, deceptive and a complete fraud! We were part of a group from Pueblo Bonito Resort we had a certificate we had paid The Resort; they also scheduled our tour. Cactus Tours has their own business partnership with Resorts in Cabo. It's a fabulous money scheme to empty American tourist pockets! They advertise all over the resorts in Cabo and the resorts itself encourages the ATV,Horse rides, and Camel rides. The cost is plainly ridiculous and once you get their your stuck! It's in the middle of the desert extremely hard to get there on your own as they provide a shuttle to transport you to and from resort. The cost for a ride is advertised at $180 or discounted by the resort if you take a timeshare tour by you still pay out of pocket! We paid $35 plus $25 entrance fee per person and plus a mandatory insurance fee of $25.00 per person!! If you use your credit card as a hold they put $500 on it! It's a big scam. The ride is dangerous on AT would not recommend for seniors or fist timers. We witnessed an accident with ambulance. Also for all my animal activist and animal lovers they abuse the horses and camels !! That is also why they do not allow you to bring camera or phones! The poor horses were worn out in the extreme heat then placed in a den of horses tied up against a wall where they cannot see around the slack on the rope is so short they're forced to stare at a brick wall! The amazing escort Tony, (lead driver) was great & took us to the ocean where we were able to take pictures. & then through the desert areas. Like most places in MX. they want to upcharge & sale you other items that you may not need. Two ATV options are (1) $35 additional for a private tour & insurance. We opted for the pirate tour & it was certainly worth it. The sun setting over the ocean was incredible. Initially I didn't think 2-hours wears long enough,... but after being on the ATV for close to 2-hours, I was more than ready to get off. read more
