You do not have to be training for the Tour de France to feel welcome here --- I have quite often rolled on in with low tires and they quick put air in them and send me on my way! I had a bike fitting to finish out the year. Wow I had no idea that there was that much involved. Bob spent over 2 hours with me measuring everything from the arch on my foot, to the length of my legs, to the range of motion of my hips. He used advance computer technology to measure my pedal stroke and body posture for correct cleat, saddle and handlebar positioning. Bob is supper knowledgeable and has the patience of an educator. He races mountain bikes and road bikes. He also teaches an indoor power class. Which is where I know him from. This guy has a lot of knowledge and he offers it freely. One thing I noticed as I watched customers come and go is that this place definitely has the feel of a local shop. Everyone that walked in the door was treated as if they were the most important customer regardless of weather they were spending $20. Or $2,000. I'm a weekend warrior on the bike and do the T-shirt rides. I'm not a racer. These folks made me feel just as important. I would highly recommend this place and especially a bike fitting by Bob. read more

Went in with a $2000 budget. I realize that this is chump change in the mountain biking world but my money is green and I'm trying to get back into a hobby that I cherished before I got injured. These people learned of my budget and turned and walked away. I bought a bike that day but not from them. Also not that the Cadence in Keller is different ownership and much more helpful. I will more than likely ride the Growler 50 that I bought for the year and upgrade but it won't happen at this shop. My husband and I spent the entire day trying to put my new bike together.(it was delivered to me in a box)We had to borrow tools from a neighbor and right in the middle of everything we had to stop and go buy a tire pump ! Needless to say, it was a very frustrating and tiring day. Finally around 4:00 pm we gave up! So I called several bike shops for help. Several were closed but Giant Lakeside was open! They were very nice on the phone and told me that they would help me ! I took my bike in to the store and they met us with a smile. Just visited Giant Lakeside and was treated very rudely by one of the owners. My husband visited this store earlier this week and was excited and very impressed by one of the staff members who told him about the trails behind Lakeside and the E-bikes they had to rent. She shared the cost and said we would need to call the store directly to make a reservation. We live in Flower Mound, only 5 minutes away so we went to the store to learn more about the rentals. We were treated rudely immediately from the salesperson who said she would have to go ask her manager if they could rent the bikes to us. We stood and waited, we were the only ones in the store at the time, and then when no one came to talk to us, we started to leave. A man then walked to the front about to put something up and said is there something we can help you with? He did not say who he was and when I said we were waiting to speak with a manager he said he was the owner. Again we said we were interested in renting the e-bikes. All this happened while the woman salesperson we asked stood behind the counter staring at us never acknowledging the fact we just asked her about renting the bikes. He looked at us like he did not know she had just asked him about renting the e-bikes. He then said they were $9,000 e-bikes and he would have to "vette" us. He said they were only rented to those with mountain bike experience. He did not ask if we had mountain bike experience and also said do you all live around here? Do you have a way to get up to McKinney to ride a trail up there? Horrible customer service! We were checking out the bikes because we were interested in purchasing one and wanted to try them out first. They lost our business and we will not recommend anyone spend their money here. read more

I had a horrible experience with this store. I dropped my bike off to have a new derailleur installed and was told it would take 3 days. On the fourth day the bike mechanic called me and told me that the chain would not stay on with the new part and that it now needed a chainstay to keep the chain on. It did not need one before. The guy told me to give him a couple of days to find one. I called back several days later because no one called me to let me know the status. When I called and asked to speak with the mechanic that called me I was told he was just too busy to come to the phone. After two weeks of no calls I finally showed up to just pick the bike up. Manager was there and knew the story, didn't even offer an apology for the lack of communication. I was not charged and rightfully so. I left their store and went down the street with the bike to a different bike shop. The mechanic put it in his stand and had it fixed in literally less than two minutes without a chainstay being added. I took the bike home and rode it pretty hard and it works great. I called Cadence and spoke with the manager about it being fixed so easily and he just had a very unconcerned, unapologetic attitude that he had when I was in his store. I would steer far away from this place. I have never in my life given a bad review online to any store before now, but the managers attitude was just horrible. read more

My daughter needed training wheels put on her adult sized bike we purchased at Walmart. Hubby looked around Amazon and it was way more expensive than we wanted to pay. He was lucky enough to get in touch with this amazing place. Not only did they have a very reasonable prices on training wheels their customer service is great!! Since they did not have them in stock they had to order them. Once they had the wheels they called and offered to install them for free! I went to this store to change one tire and tube. I was not satisfied with the service for the following reasons: 1. They charged me more than what I was told when I gave my bike 2. They entered wrong phone number in their system and as a result I had to call them multiple times to see if my bike was repaired. 3. They told me that the bike will be repaired in 2-3 days but eventually they took around 10 days. I would have understood their challenges if they had set the right expectations with me. Went in there to spend $8,000 on a bike and none of the bikes for sale had proper air in the tires, no petals, and they were very pushy on sailing only the inventory they had in stock. I need a large bike and they had me try out a small. If you do your research you can see right through their sales tactics. Horrible customer service. Had problems with my wife's bike that we purchased there a few months ago. First they accused her of not knowing how to ride, (shift gears). this is her 3rd Mountain bike, she knows how to shift gears. After several trips back to have it worked on they said to leave it and they would change the shifter and cable. when I went to pick it back up they did not change the shifter like they said they would and told us there was nothing wrong with it. Still have the same issue with it. Basically they gave up and tough luck to us. will not step foot back in that shop. read more

So I pay for a 3000 dollar bike online and drove 30 to 45 minutes to pick it up at this shop; I walk in and the young man behind the counter acts if he doesn't care whether I'm there or not. I will say this, he was the only one that spoke to me. I told him that I had ordered the bike online and was there to pick it up. He walked around the store and then told me they "probably" didn't have it. Mind you this is a small shop so a little investigation into the matter would have made him certain. I tell him I need my money back, he tells me he needs to call the manager. He says that the manager didn't answer. Still no talk of getting the money back to me. He finally realizes that he can look the inventory up on the computer. It shows that he does have the bike. He finally puts some effort into finding the bike and then realizes that they gave the bike to one of their employees and never took it out of the system. The whole time their is an older man behind the counter working on a bike. I assume he was the manager. He never said a word to me, but intervened when he realized how horribly this was being handled. He would never speak directly to me but continued to protect his business through the younger man. The younger man put the blame on the internet and said that I should never use their website to order a bike because this happens very often. He finally gave me an I'm sorry and showed me the bikes that are coming out in six weeks so he made it a little better. Instead of offering me a future discount for my time that they wasted by not keeping their site up to date, he only offered me my money back which is going to take three days to get. This was my experience if you need a bike shop I would not put too much stock in this one. read more

Met Sam at GL. I can't say enough good things about him. It was like dealing with family. Kept me informed on every detail and was just so nice to deal with.
