After an unfortunate encounter with a car, I took my bicycle to this shop for a thorough repair. $250 later the mechanics replaced my blue cable housing with black cable housing and replaced my blue handlebar wraps with baby-blue flourescent handlebar wraps. Also, they did not balance the dropouts, which caused a dog-tail, not to mention the overly tightened gear cables which popped after 1 day of riding. Also, the customer service from the mechanics was less than agreeable. The owner, on the phone, gave me mediocre customer service. He even said, "usually the customer is always right, but since we're not exactly a money-making operation, we don't believe in that rule." I would recommend Denton Bicycle Center on the North side of the square for your cycling needs. The older men working there are very nice and super knowledgable. There is one young man there that isn't the friendliest, but he only works part-time, I think. read more

I stopped in because I was in Denton on business. I forgot my pump and was due a new one anyway since mine was just plain old and fading. When you walk in this place you know you are in a shop run by people who love cycling and not some sterile retail store. The guy that helped me was awesome with his advice and also with some other oddball accessories that I was looking for. He offered to check with their supplier and said he could have it in two days. I have a mountain bike I ride around town. I came here when my front tire needed replaced. They told me what repairs I needed, made suggestions, & were informative about my options. The workers are crazy knowledgeable about all things bikes, but they're approachable & down to earth about it. The space is well laid out, you can watch them fixing bikes & it has that perfect local vibe. I went to every bike shop near me in Dallas and found the sales people (and sometimes the owners!) somewhere between condescending and neutral. I tried out Bullseye bikes on a whim. They love love love bikes and it shows. And they like people, too. No condescension here. I could have bought my new bike much closer to home, but I'm really happy to be supporting these guys instead of someone who either doesn't pay attention to me or doesn't treat me as an equal. I trust them to be straight with me, a good thing when you are dropping a chunk of change. read more

Full disclosure this is my second review of bullseye. The first review was about my first two purchases which I was beyond satisfied with. This weekend my Mom came to town, she lives in Houston. Her boyfriend, who is a cyclist, wanted to check out the shop that built my bike so we walked to Bullseye after lunch on the square. I was expecting at most that he may purchase a shirt.... to my surprise he startted talking with Kevin about a bike for my mom, Kevin's recommendation matched our thoughts 100%. Kevin ended up recommending a Jamis that was perfect, they purchased it on the spot and I spent the afternoon cruising around Denton with the Mom on her new bike. My husband and I just bought our bikes from Bullseye. We love the bikes! We had my bike custom made and it was a great experience. They worked well with our budget, without compromising quality. Making sure we bought the right bikes for us was their priority. We were so refreshed that they didn't try to up-sell us for profit's sake. We've been back several times for maintenance, questions, etc... and they've been very patient with us. We aren't bike snobs, and we don't want to work with bike snobs. During previous visits, the friendly and knowledgeable staff twice made helpful and needed adjustments to my old bike for free, and always gave me great information on everything from cycling routes to gear. They helped me, a novice, gain a necessary degree of insight to make an informed purchase while never taking advantage of my lack of experience. I bought my bike here and later decided that I wanted some changes made. My bike knowledge is pretty miniscule so bike shops are sort of intimidating when I first go in. But these guys are great, friendly and want to make sure you leave completely satisfied. They made sure I knew why and what they were doing and how to make adjustments myself. Moved into town, needed some stuff. Bought one saddle bag and placed an order for the other (out of stock). After waiting and calling about a dozen times over probably a month and a half (their customer service is complete crap) I finally get my bag and its totally different, refuse to give my $ back. When rich frat boys move into town and need a new bike, this is the place their dadies take them. Everything is overpriced. I had mixed experiences with the bike shop. The first time I dealt exclusively with a mechanic and he did fine and quick work on a repair. The second time I came in with an urgent issue -- both my brakes were not working and I needed a repair asap. The owner said they were backed up six days and would only do repairs on a first-come, first-serve basis. He installed a child seat while my bike, which I use for commuting, was dangerous. He showed little sympathy other than to recommend visiting another store. I did and Sprockets is my bike store from now on. read more

I took a kids bike I purchased at an estate sale for my grandson. Both tires were very flat. They kept it overnight to see if it needed tubes. It did not. They could have easily sold me two, since I wouldn't have known any different. They treated me as if I were spending thousands. They didn't charge me a penny. Great customer service !!! read more

He showed me several options and told me everything I needed to know. Definitely would recommend this shop above the other two bike stores in Denton. Kevin and Dale are the best! The level of customer service at Bullseye Bikes surpassed my every expectation! I had been searching the Tennessee - I live in Knoxville - and North Carolina regions for a particular Jamis model without success. I was in Denton for a few days to visit family, and I decided to check out the local Jamis dealer. The guys at the shop didn't have the right model in stock, but they were very familiar with it and were able to size me up quite accurately. Kevin (the owner) found the only model on the east coast and arranged for it to be shipped to my home in Tennessee. Additionally, he cut a nice chunk off the MSRP. I was incredibly appreciative of how willing the guys at Bullseye were to go out of their way to help me. I wasn't a regular or even a local; I was a total stranger, and Kevin and Dale did everything they could to make sure I got the right bike at the right price. How I wish this shop was located in my hometown. Never have I been so pleased with a bike shop experience. If you are lucky enough to live in the Denton area, this should be your bike shop. I've been shopping at Bullseye on and off for a couple of years now and the service started out fairly decently. Kevin, the owner, was a knowledgable and helpful guy. But as of late the service has been truly poor. The staff are clueless and a little condescending. I, of course, realize that this is an attitude found in many shops but it's not one I expected to receive here. I've wandered in on various occasions looking for parts as simple as brake cables for my road bike to foot retention for my pedals. I've had to point to them which types of cables I need after frustrating and circular conversations and I've been sold incompatible straps for pedals. All in all I was just expecting more knowledgable service. It's a shame they've got the best stock in town because I'd really rather give my patronage to someone else at this point. read more
