Stumbled upon this beauty while in the area to thrift shop. What a pleasant surprise! Portuguese bakery is not something I can say I've experienced before. I assume this person was the owner... but I had questions about the Brazilian fudge and was met with a smile. (If you like coconut.... Get the coconut fudge!) We picked out some pastries and lattes for the nearby park and it couldn't have been more perfect. I got to sweet coconut hot latte which was tasty but my bestie got the monkey latte cold foam and I WAS SO SAD I didn't get it because it was delectable. We loved it! Pastries we got the almond tarte which was flaky and the inside was like a moist cake? It was unique and bomb! The blueberry lemon scone had the juiciest blueberries I've had in a pastry! Not dry at all. The punkin scone was my personal favorite. Love anything that gets me feeling in the season. The restaurant itself screams culture and love that they had posters on the door to let ICE know they are not welcome. If I'm ever near here, I would bring back people!

Great little bakery that has a variety of coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, and pastries. I like how you can grab a meal here or a bite. There's plenty options and the staff are all very nice. There's plenty of seating inside if you want to stay and chat a bit.

Such a cute Portuguese corner bakery in McKinley Park! A good amount of seating inside! The people there are so kind and even came to check in on us while we enjoyed the pastries. We got the pastel de nata, a mushroom and Gruyère quiche, and the doce de casa (condensed milk mousse with dulce de leche mousse). The pastel de nata was so perfect and wasn't using a generic base, but rather a buttery, flaky puff pastry crust that had sooo many layers to it. The doce de casa reminded me of serradura - it was so creamy and had slight hints of a cookie flavor?? Delish! The mushroom and Gruyère quiche was admittedly a bit dried out, but flavors were very cohesive and I liked the saltiness of the Gruyère cheese balanced with the caramelized onions.

Saw this bakery pop up as having pastel de natas which are one of my favs so decided to try it. The bakery itself is not that big, with tables for dine in. Cute motif with pictures of Porto along the wall. We ordered the natas - original and one with chocolate as well as lemon meringue. The natas are delicious and I especially liked the chocolate one as it wasn't too sweet. The lemon meringue was just tart and sour enough and the crust wasn't tough. Overall, I would recommend this bakery if you like natas. (They also have lots of coffee drinks available.)

Came in here for the first time. The parking is a little tricky but if you're lucky an are driving around 3:30ish then there's some parking on the side of the building on Archer otherwise you have to park across the big street. Took my nephew here and we read the reviews on the Pastel de Nata and we wanted to taste it and me the coffee of course. Upon our arrival and entry we were greeted by Mel the girl who took our order. She was knitting which I've never seen anyone do while at work. Other then that she was nice and cordial and that's key to me. I had the pleasure of also meeting the pastry chef Dhamar (I hope I didn't misspelled her name) bc she spelled it out. She was kind. The place is very quaint. And yes it does live by its cafe name CADINHO meaning 'A little Bit". The Dirty Chai Cookie was delicious a little on the sweet side for me but good for those who like it sweet. It was nice in its softness and it doesn't crumble up like other cookies. I did enjoy it. What we did live was the Pastel de Nata. Main reason for our visit beside the coffee. We loved it so much we ordered a chocolate one and a regular one and my sister and brother loved it. I will definitely be back to buy this again. The custard was nicely flavored and perfect on the sweet. Not over powering just right. My nephew who's picky wanted more so luckily we got two more. It's a good place to come and unwind and listen to diverse music. And my Latte with Coconut milk was super good!

So delicious, out here visiting and doing some work while enjoying a tasty beverage. Staff are so nice and the place is spacious with so many treats to try. And a great place to catch up with friends.

Very unique coffee shop in the neighborhood. Different types of European desserts and coffee drinks to try. Good enough seating to work in. Workers are always helpful!

McKinley / Bridgeport have really strong coffee options, all very good in their own right. But Candinho is truly a destination as noticed by the folks that come in on weekends. I'm a coconut latte fan. And we're big on the savory pastries. Enjoy

I loooove Cadinho. It's such a wonderful addition to little village. The inside is so cheerful and beautifully decorated with images of Portugal, very colorful! The music is very good and vibes and at a good volume, and of course the pastries are amazing!! I feel like they're delicious while being refreshingly different from typical Chicago coffee shops. The pastel de nata is soooo good and I loved the Mexican mango tea to pair with my pastries. The raspberry jam cookie was insane; the outside chocolate was delicate and almost crisp when you bite the cookie, and the actual cookie is soft inside and the jam tastes very high quality. Tbh I don't know that I even like the chocolate and fruit combo very much but I can recognize that it is a gourmet level cookie. I also ordered a Portuguese brioche sandwich for lunch which was very good; they have a couple more savory options such as a scone and something like an empanada but lunch options are a little limited. They also have smoothies that I'm excited to try if you're looking for something light or healthy. The rest of their pastries look absolutely delicious, I can't wait to come back!

Genuinely a dream to be here. Large windows, cozy decor, very spacious. The staff are so sweet, and everything I've eaten here is so good. The bom dia sandwich is mind-blowingly good (the bread is sweet and soft, the sauce explodes with flavor, the sausage and tomatoes and dried basil and everything is incredible). The nata too

Walking in, there are nice warm colors with a nice red terra cotta color. There are azulejo tiles lining the long counter/bar. The mural in the back portrays a city in Portugal which is vibrant. The vast array of pastries and breakfast sandwiches pique the interest of your sweet tooth. The caffeinated drinks look amazing, making you consider if you could handle 3-4 lattes to try a few all at once, before common sense settles in. I grabbed a cinnamon apple scone which was a nice texture, but not dry. It was also not too sweet which is key for me. I tried the Piri Piri iced latté which is made with a touch of spice (cayenne) and chocolate. It was the right amount of sweetness. There is ample seating in the cafe, but there was a fair amount of people inside, providing a lively, but not too loud atmosphere. It seems like a fine place to do some work on a laptop. I definitely will return to try the toasted sesame horchata latte or rose matcha latte. And possibly a breakfast sandwich. It's a refreshing find of a cafe in the humble neighborhood of McKinley Park. One of the nice gems on the southside and another example of why you don't need to go to Wicker Park, Logan Square, or Lincoln Park to fine a lovely café. The bad bunny candle on the back shelf was a funny touch to the decor. Please note this is a cashless business. There is a tip jar though.

One of my favorite desserts in the world is pastel de nata. So that when I found out that a new Portuguese bakery opened it immediately went to the top of my must try next list. I made time to run over to this place and enjoy a nata. I stopped in midday and also decided to pick up a sandwich of Jamon con queso on a croissant (cuerno) roll. Of course, I purchased a box of natas because one is just not enough. Everything was delicious and authentic. I highly recommend a stop here for those that want to know what all the fuss is over these delicious treats. Prior to buying these here I would make my way over to the Macao inspired fat rice bakery to satisfy my craving. The former Portuguese colony was also famous for these delicious tarts.

Cadinho Bakery & Café is such a dope spot that really takes its time to get things right. On my last visit, I ordered an Americano, a lavender matcha, and a pastry--and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. What makes this place stand out is the craft behind the details. They make their own syrups and milk in-house, which gives every drink a freshness and personality you don't always see. They also support other coffee companies across the city, which adds a nice sense of community. I'm not usually a big matcha drinker, but theirs was rock solid--you could taste cinnamon and banana coming through in a way that lined up perfectly with the lavender. The pastry paired beautifully with it all, making the experience feel complete. Definitely recommend this place if you're nearby, and honestly, it's worth the drive even if you're not.

The roof is cute-- what you'd expect of a rooftop. It took 5-10 minutes for our server to make it over. We ordered drinks and asked for 2 more minutes for the food. That was a mistake. It took him at least 10 minutes to come back. We still had not received our drinks, but he said the bar was backed up. I strongly suspect he forgot to enter them, but maybe not because it took 35 minutes! During most of that time, he seemed to avoid our table so he wouldn't have to field any questions. We ordered the broccolini, which was cooked perfectly. BF thought it needed a little salt, but I liked it. He got the mussels as an entrée and thought they were good, but nothing to write home about. I got the potato tacos, which were excellent. Overall, it was fine. Not quite the nice date night we expected, especially with the service being what it was. 35 minutes for a cocktail is pretty outrageous. However, we never got a dish, and I ordered a second glass of wine part way through the meal and we then finished all our food and waited a bit. The glass of wine never came.
