Ordered a few of my husband and I's favorite desserts including 2 cannoli because he is Italian. My fruit tart had a very strange soap like after taste which turned me off so I just picked off the fruit on top. His cannoli were filled with a whipped cream which is not traditional at all. Traditionally, they are filled with sheep's milk or ricotta. The shell was also not fresh and crunchy. Also to ensure freshness and keep with tradition, it should be filled at the time of ordering, which they weren't. Ordered a tiramisu cake for my daughter's 18th bday. That's all she wanted. I've bought this in a single serving here before so knew it'd be good. When I was there to pick up the lady couldn't find it. Called someone and they told her where. It didn't look like it but I took her word that it was correct. Turns out it was a chocolate & strawberry cake. And not a good one so double disappointment. I took the entire cake, minus the 3 small pieces to the store the next day and they told me I had to call the owner to get a refund. Took 3 days for a return call and LITERALLY TWO + weeks when I had to drive over to the store again before I finally was refunded. This after numerous text where they said they sent the refund. No apology no nothing from whomever the owner/manager is. Worst service ever. Did not give a **** that they ruined my kids bday cake on her big day. No, let me make it up to you, nothing. I've been here several times before but sadly never again. So disappointing! read more

Can't take a customer experience seriously. Attacks their customers and has any negative review taken down. Cake tasted terrible and looked sloppy. Go to another bakery that has professional trained bakers. Look at the photo of the two tier cake, everyone knows it should have had dowels for support in the middle. read more

This is by far my favorite European pastry shop from Palm Springs to Pasadena. Wherever you are it's worth the trip. The cakes and pastries are so fresh, not too sweet. Very authentic European. Quality is excellent. Customer service is outstanding. Their pastry boxes are so impressive. Im always very proud to present their pastries to guests or when visiting with others. It's been a while since I last visited. It's a great bakery. They make delicious traditional honey and nut filled baked items that I love. Over six months ago the young lady working there was not well trained in basic food handling. I was here to give the place another chance. I waited while 2 other customers were being taken care of while I tried to make some choices in my mind. Everything looks so great! When it was my turn I was ready and I let the lady know the items I wanted. She assembled them in a square aluminum tray with gloved hands but they were all differing prices. So she pulled items out of the aluminum tray to weigh them to determine cost. Without changing the sticky gloves she touched the square register to add up prices. Then she went back to lift out the next items and then back to touching the register. All without changing gloves!! I felt I had to say something to her to the issue about touching the register and she informed me she sanitizes it. However, I did not see this while waiting my turn. At this point she changed gloves then went back to doing the same thing with my items- touching the food then touching the un-sanitized register. Clearly she did not understand what I was talking about. Then with the same sticky gloves on, she handled my transaction touching my cash/money, then the register screen and giving me change. I pointed out the register is now increasingly contaminated and she did not seem to understand. At the end her same sticky gloves were used to put the boxed items in a white bag and touch the tape dispenser. Her hands were clean while my bags and aluminum tray were sticky on the outside. Simple and basic food handling seems to be an issue again with a different employee. I am honestly sad this happened and that this is still an issue at this truly fine bakery. Is it worth a third visit? Glove usage is not understood by this bakery and weekend employees. There has to be a way the register is not touched with the same glove used to handle the food. Maybe gloving just one hand to only handle the food and using the other to only touch the register. Then gloving the other at the end to move food and finish the transaction. read more

This bakery is small and located at a corner, but very easy to spot! The second I walked in the scent of the pastries hits your nose. It is not an overbearing scent but a sweet and warm one. When I walked in someone immediately greeted and serviced me. I was looking for a mocha cake and there was a pretty and small cake right there waiting for me! Once the employee packaged my cake in a pretty maroon box she answered a few questions about a couple pastries I was eyeing. This was my first time trying these pastries and I will be returning! I tried a small pastry in three fillings: date, pistachio, and walnut. They're very light and crumbly without any overbearing sweetness. These would go great with coffee or tea. I came here because they have pistachio and cashew baklava that do not contain walnuts. In fact, out of the several varieties they have, only 1 had walnuts. I am allergic, so I was able to try all the other varieties! I got a small (maybe 8" x 8") container full of all the other varieties for about $20. They were all delicious. They use rose water syrup here, not honey, but I love both kinds. All of them were good, and were gone within a couple days. I will definitely be back. read more
