I ended up getting the Big Stick combo with Tajín and chamoy and it was SOOOOO good! The sweet, sour, and spicy combination was perfect. Definitely something I'd order again. The inside is on the smaller side, but I actually really like the remodel they did. It looks clean, fresh, and welcoming. Parking is also super easy with plenty of spots nearby, which is always a plus. Great customer service, great shaved ice, and Diego and Larry really made the experience even better. I really love Shaved Ice and Thrifty Ice Cream, this place has both. On the menu #3 is a combo. They explained that they put ice cream in the cup first, add shaved ice, then put MORE ice cream on top. I ordered a "small," it was plentiful. A large would be too much (in my opinion). The flavor I chose was "Big Stick," which is cherry and pineapple. It was fantastic! For 95 cents more you can add a topping (sprinkles, condensed milk, Oreo cookie crumbs, etc.). There isn't any seating inside, although there is room at the right of the entrance for a table or countertop with barstools. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and I always love the flavors and how many options they have. But please, please , please, change your ice brand , or add a water filter. While the flavors are super good, nearly every single time there's just an overwhelming amount of dirty water tap flavor from the ice. Many reviews in the past have also mentioned this, but there haven't been any replies or changes . This keeps people from coming back here , and i'd really hate to see this place go or lose service , it's literally only the water issue . Also, washing the cups in the sink after you pour the syrup doesn't help either as some of the sink tap water does get into the ice as well, a napkin itself does the job. Please do fix these issues , Id love to come here more often but it's just so hard to down the ice with this problem. read more

Really try to support small local business but today was very disappointing. Ice cream is supposed to be enjoyed thoroughly but can't do so when it's finished by the time you exit the parking lot. I Ordered 3 single scoops of thrifty ice cream and 2 cake cones and 1 cup all for $19.00+. High priced ? Yes but worth it because it's thrifty ice cream.... If a full scoop is served. Today we received 3 less than half scoops and when I asked the employee if the scoops were full scoops, her response was yes. Seems to be a rotation of new employees and today was the last straw. Came in with my two kids at about 555 pm. Create better value for the $$ you charge, especially if you're charging $.95 for a cake cones that typically is free every where else. After eating nearby, I noticed people walking by with shaved ice. Considering the day was warm, shaved ice sounded like the perfect treat after a great meal. To enter is a little confusing, as the pick up area is at the entrance and to place your order you have to line up down a narrow hallway. Myself and a few others were confused on where to stand in line and where to wait for our orders. Other than that, customer service is friendly and the selection is awesome! They serve thrifty ice cream, too; which I will have to come back for on another day. I ordered the shaved ice with 3 flavors - tiger's blood, cherry, and mango. In all honesty, the syrups had a chemical taste that I didn't like very much - I guess that's what happens when eating corn syrup and food coloring. It's been a while since I've been back but with the summer months reaching triple digits I decided to come back because I remember their shaved ice being a good treat when it was hot. On the outside everything still looks exactly the same. Same store setup and same tables from years ago. It appears the owner is still the same too, I caught a glimpse of her coming in when I visited. She's courteous and greets her customers. It's a shame the taste is lacking now. I got a small cherry shaved ice and to be honest it left a very weird aftertaste in my mouth. I don't know if it's the water they use for the ice blocks or the cherry syrup was off that day but it was a bit disappointing. Especially for the price of the small container. Maybe I'll give them another chance in the future but for now I'll probably stay away from their shop. Hopefully it was only a one time deal and maybe their product was just off. read more
