This is a VERY rare example where I've gotten a very good coffee (cortado) that was poured without basic art - However, It was poured carefully. Cafe Duo is a newer spot in Bethel, and it's such a nice addition to the area. As soon as you walk in, it has a cozy, comfortable, relaxed vibe -- the kind of place where you immediately want to sit and stay for a bit. My friend Mindy and I really loved it and will definitely be back. I ordered the cookie butter latte, and it was honestly delicious. It didn't taste artificial at all, which I really appreciated. I'm not a big coffee drinker (usually just one cup a day), but this one was a game changer. I took my time with it and genuinely didn't want it to end. Mindy and I shared the cranberry orange loaf, and it was great -- flavorful, moist, and a very generous slice. Neither of us could finish it because it was such a big piece. The owner, Victor, was very kind and welcoming. Even though the shop closes at 4 p.m., he let us relax and enjoy our time without rushing us, which made the experience even better. They also sell ground coffee, which is a nice bonus. Overall, a really pleasant visit with great drinks and a welcoming atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back soon. read more

It is very hard to find a nice and cozy coffee shop in such an early morning hour (6:30 am) in Danbury area, the coffee is really nice comparable to what you would have in Italy, the scone is also very delicious, but the cinnamon roll is too sweet that it would get you into diabetic by the time you finish it. From an outside perspective.... I reside in the apartment building in which you have your business. I'm awoken early every morning by slamming car doors by customers who park within my parking lot. On top of that the pungent stench of coffee so strong through the air I vomit and get migraines. My car has been hit and I pick up coffee cups in the parking lot. I'm annoyed by all this, the lack of respect and regard for the residents here.This is my home, I live here, I pay rent, I don't come into your driveway at 7am and talk loudly slamming car doors and brew superstring nasty smelling pungent coffee that lingers in the air and stinks up everything. This spot is more 3.5 stars. I was welcomed right when I came in. The place is nice and clean. I ordered a large iced mocha. I dont think I actually received a large iced mocha. A woman came in after me with an iced drink who got a larger cup. Im sure maybe they misunderstood what I asked for or didn't quite hear me. I have to say it was real good. I was a bit hungry so I ordered a croissant that had a bit of ham and cheese. It came just in the plastic wrapper not even on a small paper plate. So I ripped what it came in and ate using that as my plate. I know this is a newer spot and they will make improvements as they find need for them. read more

I've lived in Bethel most of my life and I love our town and supporting our local businesses. However, visited Cafe Duo the other day for the first time and I was really very disappointed. Ordered a hot cocoa, was given the smallest cup they have and charged almost $5. Ok fine, I get it, but when I picked the cup up I was in shock. Walked outside and opened it up, without even taking a sip yet, the cup was literally only 1/2 full of cocoa! I thought this was unacceptable!! I get the cost of everything has gone up, but to be ripped off is just not ok with me. Other than that the place is adorable and the staff was kind but I won't be back. read more

I'm always on a hunt for a new coffee shop with pastries and discovered Cafe Duo right near my town. It is a small, clean cozy coffee shop with few tables where people were working/chatting with quiet music in the background. The owner greeted me as soon as I walked in and told me a bit about the cafe and when it opened! The pastries all looked amazing. I got the almond cream croissant and an iced decaf americano. There are a couple other coffee shops and chains nearby but Cafe Duo felt so refreshing and like an excellent addition to downtown Bethel. Paola and Victor were both really friendly and personable. The coffee was great! We got a flat white and Bombon (espresso with condense milk), excellent. The pastries all looked so delicious, but I settled on the almond croissant, which I apparently ate too fast for a picture. Though the pastries aren't baked in house but delivered from NY daily, it was still fresh. The prices were a little steep, but for the quality and atmosphere it was worth it. read more

This is the premiere coffee place in Bethel. The best one we had (Panificio Navona) was lost when they moved to Newtown, and later had to close permanently after the lockdowns. So Cafe Duo is definitely welcomed. The coffee is hand chosen by the proprietor, a native of Costa Rica. He is polite, pleasant, and super efficient at running his business. The place is sparkling, clean, and the coffees are full-bodied and full of flavor, with everything from a light roast to a dark, all from South America. The pastries are very good, with some savory choices among them, like a spinach and cheese croissant. Background music is a Latin jazz, completely non-intrusive. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that I wish they could carry fresh rolls and butter for those who'd rather avoid the sugar of pastries. He does have other choices, like overnight cereal, or whatever they call it, and yogurts, juice, etc. Truly, it's the only real coffee in town. Highly recommended. read more
