So yesterday I decided to make a side trip over to Nova Cafe, a place I had been meaning to give a try, but never really had a chance. It was too far out of my way for convenience. In a town that has no shortage of cafes and pick-me-ups, Nova faces some stiff competition. Let's break it down. The building it's in looks almost like a house. If one were to look at it at first glance and not know any better, they might think it was someone's home. This is further evidenced by the fact that the porch looks homey, and the front door looks like what a front door might look like for something as assuming as a house. You have a ramp you could walk up on if you towards the back a little on the left. Even steeping inside, you could mistake this for a house in a vacuum of space. Only the order booth gives a clear indication that this is a cafe. But this just goes to show just how well they pull off the cozy, homey vibe. It feels like the kind of place where you could cook a batch of homemade chocolate cookies, serve it with some nice, cold milk, and we'd have a feast. The people who do work here are nice and helpful as well. So why the four? Well, even though the panini-pressed melt I had ordered was great and the bread it was on had a great crisp to it, you have to remember that there are a lot of cafes in Wilton. Because of this fact, this place needs to have something that makes it stand out in terms of what they have on menu, and so far the only thing that truly stands out is the ambiance. I do want to come back and try their other stuff, and I did enjoy the Mocha Madness I had from them. It's still a fair bit out of my way, so I don't know how often I will be able to come back, but I do want to give their other items a try. read more

This is a clean, cute and warm place! The staff is somewhat friendly. The lattes were ok. I wish they had been hotter. Vanilla nut latte - was good flavor just luke warm. 3.5 out of 5 Almond Joy latte - too sweet and luke warm 3 out of 5 I'd definitely comeback and ask for it extra hot. Maybe next time we will stay here and try other items. read more

Their website said they closed at 4 on Sundays. Based on this we went a little before 3 and were told their hours were changed and they would close in 10 minutes. While they continued to serve people who walked in, the barista came over in a challenging manner and basically kicked us out saying he had warned us they now close at 3pm! He needs some customer service training, and the website needs to be updated. They have lost a couple of customers! read more

Ordered large iced coffee with simple syrup and whole milk as well as an egg and swiss sandwich on a sesame bagel. Walking inside there's plenty of spots to sit solo or with your people. Friendly and welcoming staff. REAL EGG sandwich was soooo good as well as the iced coffee. Perfect spot after hitting the Norwalk River Valley Trail in Wilton!! read more

Very nice staff felt very welcome upon arrival. I got an iced vanilla chai and a BEC on everything it was very yummy. Love the addition of adding cinnamon sugar etc out on the condiment bar to make life easier. Overall it was very cozy and I would definitely come back! read more

Nice neighborhood place with plenty of seating and a good sized menu. The staff behind the counter is nice and the food is pretty good too. I had the tuna melt, and it was well seasoned. The crunch on the bread complimented the softer texture of the tuna salad well. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. Will come back to try some more in the future. read more

First time at Nova cafe. Coffee was great and so were the pastries. Service no so good - when the order came out I noted to the staff member that there was a mistake in the order... she said, "that's what I heard". No "I'm sorry." No, "can I make it better for you?" The people that work here are always so nice. A pre-coffee smile does wonders :) Their chai tea lattes with almond milk (hot or iced) are my FAVE. They are so good. And i like that i can give them my thermos to put my drink it. They also have a small, but decent, selection of baked goods - the kids i take usually get a mini muffin-perfect size for little kids.. they also have full sized muffins which are pretty big. I've gotten a few morning sandwiches and theyre okay. They have pre-made cold sandwiches as well which are really convenient when trying to grab something to take on the road. They keep clean bathrooms that always smell nice. read more

Service was fine. The two behind the counter seemed to be kind people. The coffee was not good. Being a cafe, I expected a better cold brew but was disappointed that it lacked flavor and was drowned with milk. They were nice enough to add more cold brew to balance it for me and I left with that beverage but it really wasn't much better tasting. The ambiance of the place was cute and did seem like a cozy cafe, just wished their food & drinks matched the vibe. read more

Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing from a place like this, but the bacon, egg and cheese was really sub par. Prepared eggs heated up and precooked bacon (like the kind you buy at the store). What's worse is that it was almost $10. I'll try an açaí bowl next time. read more

Great location, brand new building. I've been meaning to stop by for a few months now as I drive by every week or so and I finally did! Two days in a row! Yesterday's iced chai latte and pumpkin bread were both delicious! Latte was spot on and and the pumpkin bread with chocolate chips was super fresh and delicious as well as being a very generous portion size! Today's hot chai tea latte was excellent also as was the avocado toast although I agree with an earlier review that it's definitely on the smaller side. Very tasty though! Lastly and most important the service both days from multiple people behind the counter was friendly and polite and fast! I'll be back! read more

I was very excited to see the OPEN sign and low key hoping it would be a "cafe Nero" (Darien) type of a vibe that Wilton would really enjoy. Guest I was wrong. Ordered an ice latte, an açaí bowl and a tiny pineapple fruit cup. Total came to $27 pre tip. Hm. Guess it's up to NYC price point. (Ice latte was $7) Nothing wrong about that the rent must be high. There was barely any interior design (they just opened so hopefully will improve later), feel like you just walked into a subway. Açaí bowl was mediocre to say at least. Fruit cup was, fresh. Last but not least, dogs not allowed to stay inside. Had the manager walked over and tell me we have to leave because dogs can "come in and out but can't stay". Won't return again. I had high hope but was bummed. Also not a nice place to sit and work. So stick to Tusk. read more

I love this place. I'm always on the lookout for a place where I can write while enjoying a good cup of coffee and snack. Nova delivers. The place has a lovely ambience. It's not so small that I can't work but not so big that it's cold and unwelcoming. The staff are kind and responsive. I've always had a great experience here. I'm so glad it exists. read more

Very friendly staff, super welcoming and helpful. I had an iced chai latte which my daughter and I both agreed was much better than comparable product at a chain competitor. She also had a warm mozzarella caprese sandwich that she said was great! I loved that they had a lot of healthy and gluten-free options including a variety of salads in addition to the large selection of hot and cold drinks. Will definitely go back. Amazing cafe! I'm on a fast but could have the decaf coffee and it was so good. My son had a cookies and cream smoothie. The staff is SO AMAZINGLY nice. Lots of great paninis and salads ready made. I might try the chai (which also comes frozen) next time. They also have East Coast Kombucha and açaí bowls. I will be back!! read more

I am SO happy Nova Cafe opened! I love the location and the decor! I've been a few times now and they have been busy each time. As they are new they still have a few kinks to work out, but every time I have gone the coffee has been great. I really enjoy their iced chai tea lattes! read more

Excellent iced coffee, pastries, muffins, and a plethora of sandwiches (wrap, panini, traditional). Wow! Salads and Açaí bowls too. This is a great find at a great location with plenty of parking. The cafe is very clean too. It's a great place to take a break and enjoy a great cup of coffee with a friend. read more

Coffee is good but breakfast is not. I ordered this Avocado Toast after reading the menu and pictures. The avocado toast is totally different from the picture and is so so so small. I have doubt if they are serious about their cafe business. read more

Went one day to check out this restaurant. Very noisey because of all the "Moms" there. Ordered egg and bacon on a bagel. The bacon was not crisp and the egg tasted as though it was microwaved. Not sure the prices and reasonable but not worth the money to eat there. Not an enjoyable experience. read more

I went in and bought an espresso & crossiant today. They greeted me as soon as I got to the register. It seems like they really care about the business and the service was incredible and something I've been missing for a while. It was refreshing. They've just opened, so let's give them a while to acclimate. Meanwhile, we went for breakfast, and the bacon-egg-cheese sandwich had the tiniest sliver of bacon that was thin enough to see through. [Dear owners: please order the same sandwich at Orem's or CT Coffee and follow suit.] Sour dough and croissant were not authentic and were of supermarket quality. Latte came out tepid warm. I guess we could have complained, but we were in a hurry to move on. We will try again in another few weeks. read more

Terrible service, unwelcoming ambiance akin to a Dunkin' Doughnuts- not personable in the least. Employees were more concerned about texting on their phones than working at the register. Stale pastries and watery, bleh coffee. Will not return- 0 stars if I could. I give it a year in business. Bad decision to give it a second chance. read more
