The five stars is for the seating. Cafe Leila is the kind of place where your food is good, your chair is comfortable, and your wallet quietly sighs. The seating is honestly excellent. Plenty of room, good spacing, indoor and outdoor options, and a great vibe for actually having a conversation. I met here for a casual business meeting and it was basically perfect for that. The staff was friendly and everything tasted good, but I'll admit I had a bit of sticker shock. An iced coffee, grilled cheese, and half a soup later and I was wondering if I accidentally ordered the premium legroom upgrade. This is less "coffee shop" and more "cafe where you settle in and stay awhile." If your goal is comfort, space, and a place where meetings don't feel awkward, this place delivers. If your goal is a quick, cheap coffee, this might not be your lane.

Came here for lunch with some colleagues and absolutely loved it. This cafe is counter service and self bus, but they do bring the food to you. There is ample seating indoor and outdoor so although there were quite a few people while we were there, it was relatively quiet as people were sat spaced out. This venue is great to come alone and do some work as well as with a larger party. The cafe and outdoor patio has a charm about it that is cute and also random. The staff were friendly and accommodating, I split the veggie wrap with a colleague and they separated it for us. Half was plenty! All the food was fresh. I absolutely loved the veggie wrap and the basil ginger lemonade. I hear the owner also enjoys experimenting with different tea options.

One of the best cafes ever. Food was delicious, ready so quick, coffee and tea, an amazing outdoor seating, with umbrellas. Nice set up. Staff friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely come back.

Best place to grab breakfast and lunch in Berkeley on a sunny day! This neighborhood gem is serving the most delicious chorizo scramble I've ever had so far... Their chorizo is made in house and their chefs know what they're doing. The chorizo sausage was not greasy and made from quality meat and was so flavorful with the right amount of heat. My sister had an incredible grilled salmon salad that had the most delicious green sauce on top of the Salmon. They have plenty of seating outside in their garden and also have an indoor seating area perfect for taking a meeting and working. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. They also have their own self parking lot which is convenient and free. I will be back here again soon to try more from their delicious menu.

Came here with a group of 8 on a Friday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how many tables were open - especially for a Friday! Their outdoor seating area is huge, which made it perfect for our big group. You order and pay at the counter, and then they bring the food out to you. Super easy and efficient. All of the food was delicious! I had a mango lassi that was absolutely amazing - definitely recommend. I also tried the turmeric matcha latte, but it was a little heavy on the turmeric for my taste. I split the salmon salad and the salmon tayab, and both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The fries were also super yummy! And the matcha smoothie I tried and it was great. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. Great spot for groups, casual vibe, and really yummy food!

This cute little cafe is definitely one to gate keep! I went on a Friday morning, around 10:30am and it wasn't too busy. At first impressions you can tell it's a family owned business so that's always great! At the entrance they have a display of pastries and on the back wall a wide selection of tea! Which is so cool and unique, you don't really see much places now a days that have a wide selection of tea. For a tea lover like me that is always a great plus! The seating area is so spacious and cozy inside. As well as art, from I'm assuming local artists are p laced on some parts of the walls which you could purchase! What I absolutely loved was the outdoor patio! You are transported to a cute little zen backyard with plenty of seats to choose from! Lots of plants and flowers are around the patio as well. One thing that completed my whole breakfast experience was the cute little water fountain! It provided such a calming element while enjoying breakfast! Now let's talk food! I ordered the Chicken Tyab which came with a very well seasoned chicken, a side of Mediterranean salad, dolmas, lavish bread and hummus! The whole plate itself was so delicious!

I usually get the chicken and waffles, but he ordered it anyways so I got lucky to be able to still have a few bites. I ordered the "Breakfast" which came with 2 eggs however you want (I got mine over easy), hash browns, toast and either bacon or chicken sausage. I got the chicken sausage. For a drink, I had the Aquatic Park Sunrise. It was good. Not too sweet and strong enough that I wanted another lol My friend just had coffee which the staff made sure to always ask if he wanted refilled. Breakfast came quick. The chicken and waffles is a classic. I always order it when I come. Chicken was thick and juicy. I didn't try the waffle this time since I had my own food to eat (plus I've had it so many times before). This plate comes with either gravy or syrup but definitely pay the extra fee to get both. My dish was simple and delicious. Can't go wrong with eggs, hash browns and sausage. Love coming here and so happy they don't try to switch up anything too much. Came in and didn't have to wait for a table which is not always the case cause it's a busy place. Everyone is always so nice. Great place to come, great service and great food.

Fluffy eggs, but showed up cold last time. Coffee ranks as delicious and the Bubble & Squeeze mimosa is plenty good with OJ. But they offer other fruit flavors as well. It's one of those what's-not-to-like brunch spots where the only issue is consistency. And I would honestly say that it's not very often that they're off. This is definitely one of my top five brunch spots in the East Bay. Great service. Always! Cozy and homey atmosphere with lots of cute decorative touches when you're sitting inside, mostly two tops and four tops, but I think there's at least one table that seats six or eight people. They also a nice patio outside for warm days. 4.5 stars.

My daughter warned me that the owner is trying to be an "influencer" on Instagram and posts photos of herself in crop Tops so I should beware, but that's fine by me. We called to get a quote and had a discussion. After we gave the owner all of our information, she told us she wouldn't give us a quote unless we came in person (?!) Which is weird because this isn't how restaurants work. Typically for events restaurants will give you a quote via phone or email for the sake of convenience. We had gotten 3 quotes already from other restaurants via phone. Making us drive 45 mins just to get a quote is a total waste of time. Especially if we can't afford it. So my daughter called again, left a VM explaining we couldn't come in person due to time constraints, and again asked for a quote. No reply. We waited a few days and called again. No reply. Finally we got a voicemail from the owner saying that she didn't like my daughter's attitude ?!!! Apparently you're not allowed to ask this restaurant how much they charge for events unless you're face to face. This lady has absolutely no idea how to run a restaurant. The workers and the owner were all very kind and welcoming. I got there a little after they opened in the morning. As for the food, I ordered the kimchi fried rice along with the chicken and croffle. The fried chicken tasted a bit interesting. I'm not sure if the frying temperature was off or if it had something to do with the condition of the oil, but the texture of the breading wasn't quite right. I used to work at a fried chicken shop in Korea, so it was a texture I recognized--the coating was fully cooked and wasn't necessarily soggy, but there was no real crunch. Instead of being crispy, the breading was soft and kind of gave way when you bit into it. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue eating it. I'd give the chicken a 2/5. As for the kimchi fried rice, I liked the addition of cilantro and beets, which gave it a refreshing touch. My only issue was that the kimchi itself was way too sour for kimchi fried rice. I don't mind fermented or sour kimchi, but in this case, the sourness overpowered the rest of the dish. Overall, the cafe itself is cute and the people working there were genuinely very kind. I just wish the food had been a little better, especially the fried chicken. Will be back next time to try out the coffee!! It is a cafe after all.

They seemed a bit frazzled and were juggling a lot, but our food came out quite fast My companion got the Homemade Corned Beef Hash, and I got the Delmar Crepe. He is pretty picky with his corned beef, and he gave theirs two thumbs up. This was also the first place he didn't finish his corned beef, so you know the portions are generous! Cali Alley is one of my go-to spots... I'm constantly trying to convince people to meet me there…read morefor lunch, or telling them to just DoorDash it because it's that good. It's also one of those places that makes you want to stay. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and generous. Every time I come here, I tell myself I'll pace myself... and every time I fail because it's just that good. The burgers are loaded and perfectly balanced, the fries are always crisp (never soggy, which is rare), and everything tastes high-quality and made to order. You have to try the chicken and waffles. The waffle batter tastes homemade and the butter takes it to another level... it's one of those dishes you keep thinking about after. I'll even DoorDash it all the way to Jingletown. The patio setup is really well done... there's a mix of larger tables for groups and higher bar-style seating for smaller hangs. The wooden furniture and cushioned benches make it comfortable, and they've got heaters for colder days and umbrellas when it's sunny, so you can usually pick your ideal spot. You order at the window and then just hang out while you wait... it's a relaxed flow and the food comes out pretty quickly. The staff are always kind and welcoming, and the whole place has a relaxed, homey vibe with really good music. Highly recommend... just come hungry.
