Tofu Scramble and line up the mimosas for a perfect Sunday morning.
    Halim C.

It's a routine come here before Point Isabel dog park. Order tofu scramble and 3 mimosas(it's a good deal) and then walk it off with the dogs.

The coffee here was very good followed by the breakfast potatoes and mini pancakes. It was a very positive experience. I visited here for brunch on a rainy day and the environment was very positive with good customer service despite the chaos outside.

This is a 20 dollar steak sandwich they recooked the meat and resalt it

Wow I am leaving this place scared for my life ! The onwers daughter is very aggressive and she chased me down in the restaurant put her finger in my face and cussed at me and called me names because I asked for a refund on my steak sandwich?! Let's start from the beginning When you walk in all the tables are sticky like they wipe them down with dirty rags and water ! But I go and order a stake sandwich it cost 20 dollars The steak came out it was old meat at least two days old and they resalted it and recooked it to make my sandwich the meat was really hard and salty like beef jerky! And they give you just bread meat and half a tomato for 20 bucks no mayo lettuce cheese peppers or anything else all that cost extra by the time your done they want 30 dollars The fries were a complete after thought you can tell they have those fries sitting there all day they throw them on the plate to make it look like 20 dollars worth of food In the end I was able to beg for my refund but be careful the girl will threaten you as she give you a refund Side note the girl ran and put a cup of salt at the door before I left ! Some sort of spell or ritual so now it obvious they practice witchcraft here at this Restaurant You can tell they are not making it as a whole I advise you to spend your money elsewhere What's funny is that you can see the level of aggression they have at this place they replied to my yelp with a lie I did not eat the sandwich because it was not safe to eat this whole problem is because I asked for a refund! If your a decent business it shouldn't bug you to offer your customer a refund that give the impression that they are a struggling business that's why they re use food and don't waste there meat serving me two day old meat is bad practice

Late lunch by car repair. The staff came outside to the little garden boxes and picked the mint for my drink, and brought out a dog water bowl. Good food. Ollie (the dog) hated it because I didn't share my yummy beet salad.

    Cranberry Cheese cake

One of our favorite nights to go is Thursdays where the dinner special is a 3 course meal consisting of a melt in your mouth beef brisket! We had the Mushroom soup for starters Very tasty and not too salty! I'm not much of a dessert eater but their cranberry cheesecake is absolutely delicious! Service is always fast and friendly. Very casual setting but food is really good comfort food!

Lama Beans Cafe is a restaurant I've passed by throughout my life but was never drawn to. My friend spoke highly of the options and affordable cost, so on a breakfast whim I chose to take my cousin and me here. The restaurant is unassuming inside and outside--open seating for small and larger groups plus tables outdoors. For breakfast and lunch it's counter service. Order and pay and your items are brought to you while water is self-serve. The vibes are quite casual and neighborhood-like like with service being friendly and efficient. For brunch, I got the Organic Tofu Scramble. The dish came with toast, home fries, and their trio of sauces. Portions were nicely sized for the price. I felt that the tofu scramble could've been seasoned more and some parts of the dish tasted a bit flat, so that's when the sauces did the saving. My cousin had the Country Omelet and said it hit the spot. For those in Berkeley looking for a no-frills neighborhood spot, Lama Beans Cafe is adorable and has decent food. The restaurant is located off Gilman St. with street parking in the area. Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon but I'm glad to have tried it.

Like, hard-to-swallow-dry. The carrots and the potatoes were good though. The poor pig died in vain. - Spaghetti di mare: Oily! - Steak: Ordered medium, came out super rare. Mom was just going to eat it, insisting it was fine, but then our server came over and took one look and said "yeah that's definitely rare". At our server's insistence, it was sent back and it was more medium, but it was tough. Not much flavor either. - Fish and chips: Also overcooked and tough. - Shrimp: Same, overcooked and tough and the pesto pasta also lacked flavor. - Ribs and tagliatelle were "ok". The only passable entrees, but far from being spectacular. You may ask why we didn't complain to our server. Well, first, we never send entrees back. Second, how do you even send five out of eight entrees back?! After my mom's steak returned medium and it still wasn't good, why bother? Our starters: buffalo wings, fried calamari and truffle fries were decent enough, but after that it was all downhill. We all passed on dessert. I don't think we've ever had a family dinner where we all complained so much. Looking at the most recent reviews, it looks like our experience is not an isolated one. The prices are not justified for what it was. $51 for a steak, $42 for a pork chop. $15 for a mocktail is steep even for a fancy restaurant, which Townhouse is not. I am not opposed to forking over money for food and drink, if it's good. Almost $500 including tax and tip down the drain. The service was fine. The apps and alcoholic spirits were alright, thus 2 stars.

Most recently I finally was able to give them a try. So glad we did! We came around lunch time and sat at a booth. There were other worker bees grabbing a quick lunch. The service was quick, efficient and friendly, and we ordered the French onion soup to start, and split the fried chicken sandwich and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The sandwiches come with a side, so one plate we did fries with a house-made aioli and the other plate, their quinoa kale salad. Delicious. Such hearty portions! The bread is so fresh, the meat juicy and ample, and flavors just right. We also ordered beer on tap, shoutout to Oakland United, and tried their house-made hot sauce that they also sell by the bottle. Would love to come back to try brunch here too. I also saw a patron ordering the quinoa kale salad with fried chicken, and yes, that's the vibe! Pricing is fair for the quality and quantity, and street parking available (although the restaurant is located at the bottom of Solano where it tends to be a bit more busy). Women-owned biz, and they also were on Check Please! Bay Area.

We got the ceviche as a starter, which for $32 is pretty much 4 bites, but it is really fresh and delicious. For my main, I got the burger special which had strawberry bacon jam, toasted shallot aioli, Pt. Reyes blue cheese, basil, and mint. It was so unique but delicious! My only complaint is that it's a wet, drippy burger which I don't prefer, but it tasted so good I pushed through anyway lol. They rotate the burgers they serve too, so next time I go I get to see what's new for that. My husband got the lamb meatballs with the lentils and he enjoyed it very much. His only complaint was that there were only 4 of them, but this is just a good note for next time to order more. All in all, I give it 5 stars. The staff is welcoming and our waiter Oliver was so nice, personable, and well-versed in the menu if you need help ordering. We liked him so much we're gonna ask for his section next time we come. Just as a heads up, it's a semi-casual vibe, but it's Albany so you're always gonna get a mixed bag of attire with some people a bit more dressed up. The place is also kinda tight, so I wouldn't come here if your party is bigger than 4 people, and it's definitely best to make reservations like we did since it can get pretty packed. The menu is varied enough that there's always something for everyone, and I've never had a bad meal here. I was genuinely sad to hear that they'll be closing at the end of the year. Sloppy service for sure. It apparently wasn't our waiter's fault, who was super friendly, but some manager or somebody, who did completely the wrong thing without double checking, and grabbed our food and set it down on some other patron's table, who I guess then began eating it. They even offered to take birthday pictures for us and brought out a complimentary birthday dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch! The food was really good. My son ordered the chicken strips and fries from the kids' menu, and I could immediately tell the chicken was homemade. The batter tasted fresh, the chicken was hot and crispy. I ordered the Chicken Club and substituted the fries for a side salad. The salad was actually a really good portion for a side and had several different vegetables, which made it much better than your typical little side salad. I personally wasn't a fan of the vinegar dressing, but that's just my preference. The Chicken Club, however, was AMAZING! It had a great amount of meat, bacon, fresh avocado, and perfectly toasted multigrain bread. That bread was actually one of my favorite parts! The sandwich was fresh, filling, and full of flavor. Definitely something I'd order again. My grandparents really enjoyed their omelette and Crab Benedict, and they loved their meals. My husband also got the Crab Benedict and really enjoyed it. It's more like a crab patty with the poached egg and Benedict toppings on top, and he said it was flavorful and very good. For drinks, some of us had mimosas while the others tried the Dragon Fizz mocktail. We actually heard the name and ordered it and didn't even realize it said mocktail, however, we were still really impressed! The Dragon Fizz was SO good! It was different, refreshing, and definitely something I'd order again if I didn't want to drink and it was just as pretty as a mimosa so we could do some videos The ambience was really nice, and being right next to the water made it even better. The only thing I didn't really appreciate was the extremely long wait for the mimosas. We completely understood that it had just opened and it was a very busy Sunday brunch, but my husband ordered one and it was forgotten. By the time we reminded our server, it was quite awhile wait. Then when we had already finished our food, gotten boxes, ordered dessert, received the birthday dessert, sang happy birthday to my grandma, shared the dessert, finished dessert, and were getting ready for the check. That's when the mimosas finally arrived! It was especially frustrating because we actually wanted to continue ordering mimosas for the table for celebration, and the half of us who got mocktails decided to take part in the mimosas but after the long wait we just decided not to, so the long wait definitely put a damper on that part of the experience. Other than the mimosa wait, we had a really good overall experience. The food was good, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was beautiful, and most importantly, we got to celebrate my grandma's birthday somewhere that already holds special memories for my grandparents.
