Found this place based on Yelp recommendations within four blocks of my Airbnb. Like pretty much everyone else said, it's delicious and extremely affordable. I got the Mexican breakfast and a fresh juice for around $6 plus tip. The starter dish was toasted bread with homemade jam. The humble little fruit plate blew my mind. I didn't even think I liked cantaloupe? Finally, I had the chilaquiles with chicken and a mix of red and green salsa. The staff was great and incredibly patient with me as I butchered their beautiful language

    Salmon bruschetta was fantastic.

Everything was fantastic, get the Orange combo to start. A glass of fresh squeezed OJ, coffee, fruit plate and the most beautifully plated salmon bruschetta I've ever seen for 6 bucks.

We ordered chicken empaladas, ravioli and fish & chips. Good things- ambience, one of the servers speaks English, good food presentation, fresh seafood, ravioli was nice and empaladas looked beautiful and crunchy from outside with juicy and fresh chicken (loved it). Not Very good - fish and chips was below standard. So bland with no flavor. I would still go to this place to try something else maybe.

Ate here a couple of times, once for lunch and then returned another day for breakfast. Very trendy spot. They had menus in both English and Spanish and the staff spoke both languages. We first found this little spot for lunch because it was close to the apartment we were staying at, it's a short distance from the tourist area but worth the walk. The restaurant is small and trendy, also very clean. Their food was very fresh and healthy. For lunch I had their special for the day, which was fish and grilled vegetables and thoroughly enjoyed it. When I returned for breakfast a few days later I had the complete combo. Their orange juice is fresh squeezed and they have the best chorizo I've had in recent memory.

Good vibes. The fruit was a little off to me, but we enjoy working here. They have really amazing veggie empanadas

Burnt empanadas. (See pics) Inattentive staff. And I ordered the salad with salmon... They brought it to me... No salmon. It took several minutes to get a staff's attention... Finally when it returned to me... *wish I had taken a photo, there were two bites of salmon ...that's all. TWO bite-sized pieces... For 135 pesos?? A small, mediocre ensalada with olive oil and vinegar brought to the table for me to dress??? No salt. No pepper--Ugh no!!! Wasn't worth $7. Nor half that price. I should have sent it back. Worst presentation I have ever experienced in my 12 years of coming to Playa Del Carmen and the massive number of restaurants I have frequented. In addition, no one ever circled back, offered chimichurri or aimed to care! Que lastíma. What a disgrace. ...And I am Argentine and speak Spanish, so no language barrier to use as an excuse. Nor were they very busy. Go to Papa Charly across the street or Mercado 30 for better tasting selections and service. Or anywhere, but here. So disappointed. First impressions matter.

They are closed. Out of business. It was a great breakfast but they shut down for some reason unknown.

After looking at the menu I decided to get a chicken milanesa provolone style with mash potatoes. I also got fries with eggs on the side. (I saw so many tasty pictures on Instagram..it was hard to decide what style milanesa I wanted) The provolone style milanesa has mozzarella and melted provolone cheese, tomatoe sauce, and oregano. The milanesa was super tasty and crunchy. The combination of the fries, egg, and milanesa in one bite is amazing!!! You have to try it!!! The one person milanesa was a good size for me. I eat a lot so I was so excited when it came out! Plenty of food. If you have a small appetite you could probably share the one person milanesa. If you are okay with sharing your food I believe the one person plate for two people is enough. I ate half the milanesa and took half home and ate it a couple hours later. Very good!!! Such an amazing meal!!! In total I got a maracuya mojito, chicken provolone milanesa, side of fries and eggs for a very reasonable price. I cannot wait to come back!!!

Once, out of curiosity, we ordered the veggie empanadas with the chimichuri sauce and they were sooooo good!! Perfectly fried, fresh and hot and many different fillings. They do have quite a few vegetarian items on the menu. But we didn't get a chance to try them all. The bartender would make any drink we ask for. We asked him to make something with maracuya (passion fruit) and he made this delicious and strong Maracuya Mezcalita. We really enjoyed hanging out at the bar by the pool here!

A nice spot with good food, teas, and snacks. We had a dulce de leche merengue dessert "sandwich" and a couple of empanadas. The empanadas were fried and served up hot. The owners are from Argentina and the menu is written in both Spanish and English. The restaurant serves Argentine wine and brunch/lunch and pastries. The specials board displayed outside the restaurant of daily offerings is what initially drew me in. We weren't very hungry but wanted to sample what they had so we opted to try two empanadas, hot green tea, and this dulce de leche filled meringue cookie. The empanadas were served iced and had a good amount of filling. Heavily fried, the meat one was pleasantly spicy and the cheese and pepper (very interesting pepper I can't recall the unusual name) was very good as well. The tea was brewed fresh and made iced to order. The "cookie" we had was light and although the filling was decadent, I don't believe it was over-the-top sweet. It was cool to see other desserts on the counter which we were unfamiliar with. It took restraint not to order more sweets. The English speaking diners in there claimed the food was delicious and I thought their meals all looked excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. I would return here again if in the area.
