Wrote this last week but it hasn't shown up so I am writing again because it was so great! I had heard of this place and the great sandwiches, and then a friend separately suggested that we go, so we decided it was time. We showed up early becasue we didn't want to hit the office crowd, as it is in an office building. Pretty cool office building inside, with tons of plants and open space. We didn't know what to order, so Omar suggested the #1 seller, the 2K sandwich - and we complied lol. We both also ordered a bowl of chicken soup. Seems like an ordinary deli order, right? But first of all, Omar is the nicest man you will ever meet, and he seemed happy to be there! The sandwich was on a croissant, and it was delicious without being greasy, magically. The soup had depth, with chicken and kale. We were looking at the interesting coffee drinks, so he made us one to share - the almond borgia - chocolate, almond, espresso, and milk. I think we had oatmilk. It was delicious and interesting and you wanted to savor every mouthful. What a great spot! So happy this place exists, and we will definitely be coming back! I don't know if it counts that I've never officially been here, but a friend brought me a sandwich from here and it was Crack. I got the jalapeño beef whcuh had jalapeños, sautéed onions, roast beef, Jack cheese, lettuce tomato and a spicy mayo. Everything was fresh and the flavors were all over the place. Convenient for me because it's walking distance from work. It's mostly pick up though there are a few tables to eat inside and a few more outside. I'm vegetarian and the options are solid. Rarely would I ever leave a bad review but damn man.. in all fairness and honesty, they serve decent food at a good price point along with a friendly service. However, I called in today prior to coming and the owner told me that they're too busy to make a breakfast sandwich. Understandable and doesn't bother me at all, if it was true. Came in literally five minutes after the phone call to find not a single customer in line or anyone waiting for food. Instead, it was two employees standing around talking loudly and the owner just chatting it up with someone while they were eating at a table. I don't know man.. that's pretty shady. It's a small kiosk area inside the building passed the welcome desk to your right. There's plenty parking since it's in a private lot. The prices for sandwiches, drinks etc are all under 10$ and the best part is that it tastes delicious still! Glad I found this place to take a quick lunch when I'm in the area! read more

The prices are so cheap here and they are meaty. My favorite is the Dutch crunch bread with mayo, avocado, and double meat toasted. Love this little office building cafe. They're super friendly, and even though it's a tiny shop, they offer a huge amount of options at a reasonable price. My wife goes for the veggie options, while I'm using going for a meat sandwich. Today she got egg salad and I went for chicken salad. Both were excellent. They usually have daily specials, so you don't have to worry about getting bored with the standard menu. Cool place! read more

Cafe 2k is a great little cafe tucked away in the 2000 Alameda office building. The staff is super nice and they have a wide array of espresso/coffee drinks and make sandwiches fresh with each order (nothing sits in a case for god knows how long). I happened to be in the business complex on a fluke and was hungry/bored, so I decided to order a bagel with cream cheese. It was the typical mediocre California bagel (nothing like New York) and the price itself was decent. The lady, who seemed like she ran things at the cafe, was very friendly. The thing that threw me off and warranted this 2-star rating was the fact that the person preparing my bagel and cream cheese wasn't wearing gloves. Not cool. read more

It naturally triggers our brain to decide whether tastes better or not, however in Café 2Ks case, both are a winning combination. Omar and staff do a phenomenal job, and I couldn't think of a better recommendation than to a family owned kiosk that serves great food with a smile. I recently visited a friend of mine who works in this building (2000 Alameda de las Pulgas) for lunch. He recommended that we check out the new cafe that opened up in the lobby. We were greeted by the 2 brothers who own the place and they were very nice and helpful in helping us decide what to order. I ordered the Kickin' Chicken sandwich and my friend ordered a California Wrap. The food was fresh and delicious! We were very impressed by the quality of food that these guys were producing. The coffee was very flavorful and the smoothie my friend ordered was delicious as well. They have a great selection of Sandwiches and Salads and plenty vegetarian options as well. Although the cafe is in the lobby of a building, I do see myself making the trip for lunch. Definitely worth the drive! These guys do everything well! And they're quite hilarious to boot! Cafe 2K is a really awesome cafe right in the building lobby in San Mateo. Omar runs the place and is a great guy. All the customers are regulars and know him by name. I try to go there as often as possible to eat sandwiches. I think Cafe 2K sandwiches are just as good if not better than an actual deli or Specialty sandwich. The customer service is always excellent and everyone is happy to support Omar and his business. I personally consider him a friend and started off just as a customer but now I see how hard he works and how hard he tried day in and day out to make all the customers extremely happy. OK -- this is the best cafe I've ever by chance run across in a large office building, most others are substandard. One would never expect this -- give it a shot. Everyone here was super nice, friendly, and helpful. The staff take time to get to know you even if you aren't a regular, this is first time here. I ordered a vanilla latte, it was good but a little on the sweet side for me. Next time I'll have to ask for less vanilla. I missed breakfast so I ordered an egg salad sandwich. Omar was very patient asking which type of bread and making sure I indeed wanted everything on it, which was helpful because I noticed it came with onions and I don't like onions. My order was made quick and everything was made correctly. I'll definitely swing in again if I'm in the area. read more

Some of the best spots to eat are the best Hidden. A gem in the financial buildings off 92 completely unheard of by most. The wraps are to die for, menu's updated and add specials daily, sandwiches are just bomb, ect ect not enough good things can be said. Came here with,my kids after a doctors appt and was super suprised at how good our sandwiches were, the service was great, i had a club sandwich and my oldest had the tuna sand both were delicious we also had a couple of smoothies which were really good and not overly sweet. One of the workers noticed i had a younger child with,me and brought her a mini cup of a smoothie for free without being asked which i thought was really nice. Excellent customer service always wins me over. The owners are great, very quick, and very friendly. I appreciate the variety of foods and beverages they offer and from what I've heard from my colleagues, the sandwiches are delicious. The food prep area is kept very clean and even though the line can get pretty long, the wait time never is. I'm still very impressed by how attentive and courteous they are to the customers. Cafe 2K is a welcome addition to 2000 Alameda. This place is worth going to even if you don't work there! Easy parking in front or in the basement. Food is fresh and tasty, and cheap. Owners/workers are very friendly. The kickin chicken sandwich is great, and huge. Good wheat rolls. Falafel is decent. The BLT has nice crispy bacon, but come on give me more than two thin slices of tomato guys! Other than that no complaints! read more
