Great experience! I tried their Kale Colada smoothie with fresh kale, coconut, pineapple and protein powder. It turned out a bit sweet on the first try, but Mimi offered to remake it for me. Great service! And a beautiful place to sit and get some work done. They have WiFi too.

    Purple Energy

Sidewalk Juice San Mateo is the spot to go to. My favorite is the Purple Energy. The staff is super friendly and my dog loves coming by here with me as they always give him a treat of some peanut butter. The place is new a really well done the mural is a must see and the place is very clean and well kept.

    Love the living wall!

Such a great addition to the Bay Meadows community. The workers are friendly and the smoothies are great. A bit on the pricier side though.

cafe kazka is such a hidden gem in foster city! my friend and I came to check it out for lunch…read moreafter hearing it was a hong kong-style cafe, and were not disappointed at all. first, the cafe is so cute and also spotless- I could've stayed all day just reading or doing work. there was lots of outdoor seating overlooking the water which was so nice! I got an iced HK style coffee + milk tea which I've never had before but was so delicious. I'd definitely come back to try the other fruity drinks too! we ordered the tom yum noodles, preserved vegetables & pork noodle soup, salt & pepper fries, and the HK style french toast with peanut butter. the french toast was our favorite- it was fluffy and chewy and was just like the HK classic. the noodle dishes were both so hearty and flavorful too, and the portions were a good size. it did take a bit long for everything to come out, but it did seem like there was only one person working and she was very kind and accommodating when we had questions about our order. we didn't mind at all, especially sitting outside and enjoying the view! overall, I'll for sure be back for the drinks and to try some other HK style street food.

I stumbled upon Cafe Kazka when I was in the same plaza shopping at Osaka Marketplace. I like HK…read morestyle drinks, so I was excited to try it out. We were initially going to just stop by to grab drinks, but decided to sit down and order a few snacks as well. The location is right behind Foster City's Central lake and the weather was nice, so we decided to sit outside. We ordered the HK style milk tea, OG lemon tea, french fries, and the siu mai. If I just ordered the drinks, it might have been a better experience. The fries were okay, nothing special - they were a bit softer than I like. The siu mai was just bad. I'm not sure where it comes from, but it was gummy in texture and tasted like frozen food. There were only 5 small pieces and we still couldn't finish it. The drinks were priced fairly, but the snacks were overpriced for what it is. You order at a kiosk so there isn't much service to talk about, but we did have to ask for a ketchup a few times before they remembered to bring it to us. Maybe I'll go back to try the actual food dishes.

I've driven by this place a hundred times and there's almost always a line of 20-30 people outside…read more This morning I decided to wait in that line. Super funny that the couple behind me commented that they go here all the time and there's never a line. After about a 40 minute wait, I got to the cashier at around 10:20am. Half the pastries like the ube brioche were already out so I opted for just the lattes. I played it safe and got the Tahitian vanilla latte. I will say that it's good quality coffee. Didn't need to add sugar. It didn't come super hot though so as I took it away, I downed it pretty fast! I got my mom and aunt the ice latte version of the black sesame and the brown sugar. Sounds like both were good as well. The black sesame wasn't sweet, which was to my aunt's liking. Inside, it's very clean and not crowded. What helped is that there is a sign that tells the people in line that only 6 people at a time should line up inside. If I have the time, I'd line back up. 4.5/5 stars, but I'll round up.

Sorry for the bad picture!…read more The salmon toast was amazing. There's a good amount of salmon, it's filling enough to be a meal. I added chili oil and I'd recommend it. The vanilla bean latte was not bad, it was solid. It was my first time ever having one and it wasn't too sweet, but it wasn't too bitter either. I think it was perfect. There was a line out the door on a Sunday morning when I went at 9:30 AM. Lots of bar seating.

Whole Foods is deceptively reasonable, especially for meats, cheeses, pies, and anything included…read morein their very good weekly sales. It has a reputation for being expensive, but I have found plenty of things there that are genuinely worth buying. Some of my regular favorites are Fiscalini habanero cheese, Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee, Mary's organic chicken drumsticks, the Whole Foods jalapeño hummus, cherry or mixed berry pie, the field greens salad with goat cheese, and the Organicgirl clamshells. This is the kind of store where I go in for one thing and somehow leave with cheese, pie, hummus, salad greens, and a very specific coffee. I am also a big fan of their pre-made salads and family meals when I need dinner without the cooking. My only complaint is that the sides included with the family meals can be underwhelming. The green beans, in particular, are impressively bad. I would much rather pay the $35 and mix and match the main dish with sides we will actually enjoy than pay less and bring home vegetables nobody wants to eat. Recently, I have also noticed that the dessert and prepared-food sections often have items marked 50% off when they need to be eaten that day or by the next day. If you are already looking for a same-day meal or dessert, that can be a really good option. Between the weekly sales, excellent meats and cheeses, good pies, and the convenience of the prepared-food section, Whole Foods is one of those stores that rewards people who pay attention. Just skip the green beans.
