Was so happy to discover that Cafe 86 made it to the west SFV! My go to orders here are the ube bars, ube leche flan cupcakes, ube oreo truffles and their iced cookie butter latte. It's not in the best location, though. It shares a parking lot with Yoshinoya where parking is limited, but I don't hold it against them. In my opinion, they should be at the Village or at least Falbrook Center where they'd get much better foot traffic. Because that's where they deserve to be! They'd be lucky to have Cafe 86 on their directory! lt's not easy coming to this location for various reasons. But I will try my best to support Filipino small businesses and hope everyone in the neighborhood gives them a chance. Because they are way too good for this spot! I've been to the Northridge one and didn't know they had opened a branch in Canoga Park. Lots of parking when I went but could see that it could possibly get packed in the plaza where they're located. The drinks were 10/10, def hit the spot especially right now as summer is approaching. I ordered the ube monster milkshake and the matcha monster milkshake for my friend but they gave me a plain cookies and cream milkshake instead of a matcha :( I was in a rush that I wasn't able to check and let them know. No complaints about the quality or the taste though. Quick service, will definitely come back to try their other drinks/pastries. read more

I've been to the reseda blvd location many many times but my first time trying this new location. I was in the plaza for the Mexican restaurant for tacos on cjnco de mayo and finally decided to stop in. The display with the baked goods was sadly barren but nearly 4pm guess they sold most of them. I did manage to get one one cheesecake and one truffle and it came out to over $11. It was gloomy so I wasn't feeling a cold drink. Maybe next time. Service was nice and quick. I just really dislike this plaza. The parking sucks. Not a great area. They probably do get good business from the local schools though. It's too bad I could not give this place zero stars. I hope that the manager of this store knows that their employee Jabari has lost them a customer. Two visits in a row, this employee made it clear he has no idea what he is doing. How is it that the flyer at the counter shows that you can do a combo with four Ube truffles with a free hibiscus drink, but this person says that only one customer can get it per day. This was written nowhere on the flyer and the employee probably was just making things up as he was going. It is amazing that while we are in a recession, businesses are willing to lose customers over drinks that cost $.20 to make. I remember the first time having cafe 86 while I was in culinary school in Pasadena back in 2009. I'm so glad there are multiple locations now and so happy that some are in the San Fernando Valley! My absolute favorite thing so far is the new pandan matcha drink, I haven't had it hot and I probably will try that once the weather cools down, but it tastes just like Buko pandan without all the fixings and i loveee it. The matcha is subtle but the star was the pandan flavor for me anyways. I'm not a big fan of halo halo but their Americanized version is perfect for this kind of weather! The upside down halo halo is better than the original I think! I've had the desserts and some are better than others, I just wish they made them in house instead of a commissary. Service at this specific location is always a 1000/10 I've been to other locations but this one is the most engaging and you can tell they care about everyone that walks in. I was sitting there taking pics and every single person was greeted and every single person was said goodbye to. The graffiti on the wall is so fun and there is plenty of seating available and even cute mini Kareoke machines on each table, which may be annoying to some, but that's the essence of Filipino culture. Karaoke was such a cute touch to this place. All in all I give a good 8.5/10 read more

We ordered quite a spread, but forgot to take pictures of most things before we devoured it all What deliciousness we ordered: - {9.5/10} Strawberry Calamansi: refreshing, fruity, not overly sweet, topped with freeze dried strawberries, and the best strawberry drink I've had to this day (I would sell my soul for this) -{9/10} Cali Mango Slushie: smooth, almost milky like, very delicious and natural tasting (like drinking a liquid, PERFECT mango) - {8/10} Upside down Halo Halo: flavor perfect, textures worked very well, sweet but not overly so (though not a fan of crunching on ice, personally) - {9.5/10} Ube Tres Leches: Moist (not soggy), just so perfect - {8.5/10} Halo Halo Bread Pudding (not warmed up) w/Ube Icecream: really good texture even when 'cold', comforting flavor, overall delicious and a solid dessert (though family has conflicting views) Safe to say we will forever be coming back!! This location is located right on Topanga Canyon Blvd. right in the Yoshinoya plaza. It's occupying the old boba shop right next to Subway. I'm glad to see a Cafe 86 here so I don't have to drive all the way to Northridge for my halo halo fix. This is one of the smaller locations I've been to. There's a tablet that you can order from or you can walk up to the cashier to take your order. As for the taste, it's consistent with all the other locations I've been to. My only concern about this place is that I've seen homeless/sketchy individuals hang around this plaza. So just be vigilant if you come here. read more

Been a fan of Cafe 86 since I had my first Ube Monster drink from them over 10 years ago. I lived too far from the location I use to go to so it was a treat every time I got one. I was surprised to find out that Cafe 86 has a new location open in my hometown area so I had to stop by and try this location out. I went yesterday and the service was great and the store looks very nice. The only downfall was that the Ube monster I ordered didn't quite taste the same as how I had it before at the other location. I gave it to my husband to try and he kept asking me if I ordered Ube monster because it tasted like a water down taro smoothie. Definitely disappointed but I'm thinking maybe the new worker didn't know how to make the drink yet because I did hear her ask the cashier what to add in the drink.
