I was in the area craving a drink and happened to stumble across Tang & Java. It's a cozy cafe serving a variety of drinks and gelato. The staff were attentive and friendly, and they were happy to answer our questions about the menu. It was also fun to see they had a special World Cup themed menu during our visit. Found a new cute coffee spot with a lot of options on the menu. Located in a shopping plaza with a small parking lot. Inside of the coffee shop is small but they have seating areas. They serve gelato as well and they have lots of crystals, which was my sister's favorite part! I like how they had lots of matcha options. Opted for the rose and they gasped if we wanted sweetened or I sweetened matcha. Honestly that was a first, so I was really happy about that. I've been loving this spot to do work at because it's quiet even though it gets busy. Their coffee can be a hit or miss. But I've enjoyed their maple oat and horchata latte. I haven't tried their pastries or other desserts but they look good. I've had their gelato which is yummy especially the biscoff one. I love the tuna sandwich. It's a good size and well priced and yes it's super good! The Lox bagel is good too but pretty pricey per usual for a lox bagel. It comes with capers which gives it a great taste. read more

They charge a $1 more for non-dairy milk and for flavors/syrups. It was pretty pricey at over $20 for both drinks. For non-dairy milks, they have almond milk, soy, oat, macadamia, and unsweetened almond - lots of options! I don't love that they don't post any prices on their menu so it's unclear how much things cost until you pay. The matcha was tasty and not too sweet at all. The lavender vanilla latte was also good. The shop also sell bracelets, small crystals, keychains, etc. The indoor area is not huge with only 3 small tables and 1 long table. No public restroom for customers. [Menu]: The top 2 Yelp highlighted drinks are Ube Latte and Sea Salt Caramel Toffee Latte. The shop also has chagaccino (mushroom coffee). For gelato, they offer dairy free, vegan, sugar free, and keto flavors (check for availability). The price for each drink is not listed on the wall menu. Per Uber Eats, Poffertjes (original or Nutella) and Creme Brûlée Latte are the top popular orders. *** Ube Latte (iced & small size - $5.99): The staff liked hot ube latte, but most customers prefer iced. This place is good for coffee. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and an Iced Matcha latte. The Vietnamese coffee was good, pretty strong. It was pretty standard. The matcha latte was not mixed well at all, there were clumps of matcha powder at the bottom on the cup. So when I was drinking it I got big chunks of bitter matcha with each sip, I did not enjoy my matcha much at all. The coffee shop has a great vibe inside. They sell some handmade candles, merch, bracelets and other trinkets. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you order matcha just make sure it's fully mixed up. read more

Not many coffee shops offer Chagaccinos but I'm really glad this place does because it's not too far from my house. Iced Chagaccinos is primarily what I come here for, but I've also had other hot and iced lattes and they've all been good. I also come for the ube desserts which are always a treat. I've been coming here for the past few years and I still haven't had their bibinka because they're only served on Sundays. Unfortunately, I don't have coffee type days on Sundays because it's family time for me. Oh well... I got a medium-sized hot vanilla honey latte with almond milk and only one pump of vanilla. Delicious. Visited this cafe after a year the day before Thanksgiving. The quietness, free wifi, and power outlets make this a convenient place to get some work done. However, during this visit, the items I ordered were underwhelming and a completely waste of $27. It's insane that I paid that much for an afternoon treat. Initially ordered their "lightly sweetened" matcha latte ($5.75), their iced barista blend which was maple something ($5.99) with a single shot of espresso, and their Dutch pancakes with chocolate sauce ($13)!!! The sweetened matcha latte was awful. It tasted like sweetened milk. They told me that it's because the powder is already sweetened which means it's not high quality ceremonial matcha. They offered to make me their unsweetened ceremonial matcha with a little bit of honey. Same issue. The matcha color was SO LIGHT. Zero flavor of matcha. I'm no stranger to high quality matcha (make it at home on a daily and have tried almost 10 different brands). This drink was very disappointing and I barely drank half and tossed it out before leaving. The barista blend latte was average. The color was SO LIGHT. Why give the option of "single shot or double shot" if the single shot is gonna be all milk, ice, and flavored syrup. It didn't taste bad but it didn't taste like coffee either and by the time the ice melted, it tasted like nothing. The puffed pancakes were so soft and below average for the $13 I paid for and the amount I got (6 pieces!!). Whatever topping you want is extra including the chocolate sauce, strawberries, etc. I've tried these pancakes both in the Netherlands and also have bought them from Trader Joe's many times. They have to be a lot more crispy and taste less like eggs. Overall, the only pros during this visit were that the staff were nice and that I got some work done. Second time at Tang & Java and had a delightful experience! It's very clean and the vibe is chill. There's some seating inside with three tables and a bar. The staff were very sweet, and he recommended a delicious suggestion, the tuna melt! I was not disappointed. You can tell it's fresh and hearty (Which I appreciate). Small parking lot (corner of Ventura Blvd & Falbrook), but I had no problem getting a spot. My bf and I visited this place and were amazed by all the yummy drinks on the menu. We had a hard time choosing what to get because so many sounded so good! My bf ended up getting the drink on the right, and I got the one on the left. They were both yummy. I was asked if I wanted 2 or 3 espresso shots for my large drink. I got the blueberry lavender matcha latte with oat milk and it was and perfectly balanced, just the right flavor and strong enough without asking for extra matcha (I usually do) The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the avocado toast was pretty yummy too.
