Dear Hubby is addicted to this bakery's offerings. We have one of their cafes in Simi Valley, and he seems to make a run there either every week or every other week. I am grateful that their style seems to be to use less sugar than other bakeries. You can enjoy the sweetness without being overwhelmed by the sugar content. Last weekend we were spending the day with our grandchildren. Adored Grandson was in town from points north for a long weekend. DH had prepared brunch for the family, then we hung out. Later, AG was craving a coffee drink, so the oldest and youngest generation hopped in to the car and went out to get drinks and desserts. Sweet Granddaughter was having a blast, getting attention from 3 of her favorite adults, PLUS getting to pick her own sweets. What more could a six year old want? She's pretty discerning about baked goods, and even got her own tray. We had to pare back some of her selections. AG got his java jolt, and I was able to order a decaf crafted beverage that satisfied my taste buds. $48, four drinks, and multiple pastries to go later, we were headed out the door. Whew! The layout of this particular location is a little odd. Though one can eat in, it doesn't feel like that welcoming of a space. It's mostly about the cases and shelves of baked goods, as far as how the floor plan is set. The counter service people were helpful with answering questions on the options for the drink orders. We did share some of our treats with the parentals at home. The prices at this bakery are very fair. We did get quite a few items. read more

Super disappointed. I came here a couple of times by now. Expecting the same excellence from their Irvine location. Full disappointment. The first time, the store was messy and the tables dirty. I thought maybe they had a rush hour and hadn't had time to clean. This time, same situation. Tables were dirty, but I thought to myself "we can just wipe them real quick" but lord be hold, no napkins were available at all. We thought ok fine, we'll go find a park to drink our coffee and eat our pastries. We asked for forks. The staff responded "we are out of forks, but we have knives" Um hello? Knives? Really? You are a whole bakery with tables to eat inside (it's literally an invitation) and no forks? How do you offer knives? Terrible. I don't think I will come back. 85°C Bakery Cafe was actually pretty good! To be honest, the coffee leans a little more on the bitter side, so it's not my first choice, but still enjoyable. Pro tip for first timers: do NOT add brown sugar to your Vietnamese coffee lol... lesson learned. The pastries were definitely the highlight. So many interesting flavors and we honestly tried a bit of everything. My absolute favorite was the jalapeño cream cheese pastry kind of like a danish and it was AMAZING. Overall, my favorite drink ended up being the brown sugar coffee for sure, and I'd definitely give this spot another try. Pricing ranges around $3-$20, which is pretty decent. Nearby locations include Northridge mall, Costco and a few restaurants. 85c bakery has a wide variety of delicious Korean inspired pastries, cakes, and coffee. The pastries are unique as they are remarkably soft, fresh and lightly sugared. (Not overwhelming) The pastries are a perfect alternative to donuts! Each pastry is individually wrapped in a bag and well presented in a box. Price for each pastry is between $1-$5. This makes for a great presentation for corporate, social and celebration events! They offer a reasonable selection of cakes (typically about 5-7 options). Cakes are very light, spongy and lightly sugared. Cakes are so light they feel healthy. The cakes are a great talking piece as they're a unique alternative to your typical cakes from other well known bakeries. There is a kiosk in the front that takes orders for coffee and food options. Overall I recommend everyone try 85c bakery at least once. You will find that the pastries and presentation wil give all a pleasantly memorable foodie experience! read more

This spot is a good go-to for pastries or if you need something quick and affordable. The store itself is pretty big and has some seating. The pastries are pretty good and there are so many options to choose from. We tried the mochi egg tart and the red bean bread, both were really good. Drink-wise though... I'd probably pass. The Vietnamese coffee tasted a little chemical-y, and the matcha was too sweet and had no matcha flavor. Parking was super easy since there's a big lot. Overall, great for pastries. read more

Everything is so affordable compared to other cafes or boba shops. The strawberry matcha satisfied my matcha craving, and the matcha bun was very light. There was little seating but this place is very much a grab-n-go place. read more

Come when they open if you're looking for the freshest and availability. Last visit, pretty much all the shelves were emptied. I needed to pick up some sweets for a friend as there's not a location close to them. Normally I would just do it in the evening so I don't have to worry about it in the morning. But as the last visit was a bust, it was just a given . Just after when they open, still not too busy which was nice to get in and out. And at least I know that they'll have everything. Also, it's wasn't super busy when I arrived. All the shelves were fully stocked. Everything looked fresh and amazing. The selections were quite nice since there were loads to choose from. Not only that, they were ready with more on the baking rack ready to be restocked. Just like any place, right when they're open would probably be best. First time having the Mango Green Tea Iced and it's so good and refreshing. The drink is not too sweet. The Ham & Cheese Croissant was warm and freshly baked. It was so nice coming in around 8 am on a friday morning. Lots of parking and a lot of their pastries are all available. You can see them freshly baked and packaged and put to display. I love all their pastry as it is affordable, not too sweet, have a lot of variety as well from savory to sweet. I also am a fan of their milk toast it's so good with everything. Place was clean, a lot of seating if you want to grab coffee, have something to eat, and work. Service is quick. Once I was in line, the staff greeted me to have my food checked out already. I also like their drinks, you can change the sweetness level and all. This place is a go to for my family. 10/11/2025 - Visit the store at around 10:00 a.m. and bought both Salt Coffee and Barbel Taro. The Salt Coffee is 4.5 Star while the Barbel Taro at $3.40 each is a 3-star item because the Taro portion looks like being reduced to fight the inflation. Surprisingly, the upscale bakery store does not accept AMEX card, although the AMEX Corp. claims that 99% of retailers in 2024 now accept it. I'm glad to see there is at least one Asian bakery in the valley! I dropped by Wednesday night to pick up some dessert. It's a huge location, probably 2x the average size of 85 Degree locations I've been to. I came an hour before closing at 8 pm and the selection was still decent for the refrigerated desserts, but their baked goods and pastries section was pretty cleaned out. I got two slices of cake - a strawberry and mango brulee - for $3.85 each and ate them the next day. Both were delicious. Super light and not too sweet, which is exactly how I prefer my dessert! read more

It was so exciting to get a 85° bakery in Northridge. This place is an absolute classic and super popular chain in Taiwan. Service here is great and the food is consistently amazing similar to all the other locations I've been to. Hope they open more of these around this area. Love this spot and location. Prior to this one opening I always had to go to the Fashion Square if I wanted 85 Degrees. This one is very close to me on Tampa in the Northridge area. Great selection of pastries, deserts, breads, coffee, boba and many other drinks. Inside is pretty large, lots of space and a number of tables, not crowded, even when busy. When you walk in there is a self service kiosk to order drinks prior to selecting yours pastries, great move so you are not waiting for a long time got them to make the drinks. This visit we got milk teas with pudding and a strawberry banana smoothie with the red bean bread. So good. The bread is light and airy and the red bean is perfectly sweet. Also, the red bean is on the low side of the scale when it comes to sodium, clocks in around 200mg, so not too bad when you want a treat. Trying to make better choices, but still enjoy. Their boba drinks are very good as well and priced right, but very sweet, so you may want to reduce the sweetness or add some water. Use the Mobil app to pre-order to save time or just get it scanned when you are there to earn points for free items. There is a big parking lot in this complex, so parking is not a problem as well. Man, I love stuff wrapped in carbs, specially carbs, wrapped in carbs. I also like sweet treats and 85 bakery café is filled with sweet treats. This is the first time I've seen the ham and cheese and the Hawaiian chicken. It might've been here before, but for some reason a lot of the label tags Either fall off or clips to the top or missing. I kind of wonder who's going in there and yanking all the tags off of the buns so I can't figure out what's what. It seems like they're always understaffed and very busy. My biggest mystery to me is how do they figure out how much to make and if you come too late it's pretty sold out so they're doing a pretty good job at predicting the quantity. I can't tell you what my favorite thing is because I like them all so much. And I'm really shocked that they're able to do so well since the parking lot is always so cramped and practically dangerous either it's because this is the busiest parking lot in the valley or it's just design so poorly that it's really difficult to get around . read more

There is indoor seating, in the same shopping center as Mitsua and so i came in and looked at the baked goods choices. I picked 2 rolls to go and had the matcha latte with the mango panna cotta. This was more of a firm flan than panna cotta but tasty with fruit on top. Almost no one when i came in but soon after there was a line for food and drinks. I was sadly disappointed with this location. After visiting many locations around southern California, I expected this one to be just as good. Instead, slowest service, very rushed once helped, and pretty slim pickings. I was able to get a cake that is normally a favorite for a friends birthday. This was the driest, flavorless cake i've ever attempted to eat. I am not sure if it was an off day or what, but I hope this isn't the new recipe.
