First of all, yeah sure cute place. The oolong tea wasn't great quality and a bit sweet for my liking. But that's not why I'm even leaving the review. When I was leaving the lot, I had only had 2 sips and I'd barely put the straw in. It basically exploded everywhere. I went back to explain to the guy and was like I didn't even drink it, I was just leaving the lot. And he just says it was intact when I gave you, maybe you need a plastic bag next time?? It looked like a cup defect to me which has never happened. He was rude and unhelpful; didn't really want to talk. Common courtesy would be to just replace the drink even if a smaller size. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately we didn't have the best experience here. The shop itself is cute and has a nice vibe. However, the drinks were much too sweet for our taste, even after diluting them. We also noticed a powdery aftertaste that we didn't particularly enjoy. The ordering experience wasn't great either. The staff didn't seem very accommodating, and we felt a bit rushed while trying to decide what to order. That said, this was only one visit. I had a wonderful experience at Sugar Fix Boba Cafe! I usually come to this plaza either to stop by Emle's or to go to the nearby Ipostal branch and I always eye Sugar Fix but have never had time to stop by. Today I was in the plaza during rush hour and I was soooo thirsty and I knew that my drive would be long so I decided to finally stop in and grab a drink! Upon entering I was greeted by friendly staff and she explained to me about the different teas, I asked what is refreshing and what most people like the most and she told me it's between the mango dragonfruit or the Passion fruit strawberry. I decided to go with the Mango Dragonfruit Jasmine ice tea. She offered me boba, popping boba, or custard add ons but I was just thirsty so I got it plain. Also it is awesome that you can choose how sweet you want to make your drink. I prefer drinks that are not very sweet so I got mine at 25% sweetness. The options are 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. At 25% I felt that my drink was perfect to my tastes! I went with the large size because I wanted my drink to last until I got home. Surprisingly I didn't have to wait very long, almost a minute after I ordered my drink was already ready to go! I don't think I've ever had a Jasmine tea before so on my first sip I was surprised that I could actually taste the jasmine flower as an undertone to the mango and dragonfruit, but it really tastes delicious and refreshed me! I adore this place with all my heart. My boyfriend and i often don't have much free time together so we were constantly looking for a late night spot to meet after work. I am so grateful we found this gem. Sugar fix has become a favorite of ours, not only for how good the food and drinks are (God bless the hands that craft that bulgogi sandwich) but because the staff are also very sweet, always recommending drink adjustments when I don't even know exactly what I want. They also do have a sign that pretty much says to take your time when you order because they won't be able to remake it for you. While working night shift at the hospital, we've ordered from here a couple times and I can say that the boba and the food are pretty good. I've ordered the taro Oreo smoothie and then got some food which were the spicy fries and chicken nuggets. I like how this place is open later compared to majority of the boba spots in the area. Instead of handling a payment issue privately, the staff chose to yell about it in front of other customers, which was completely unnecessary and embarrassing. This place shares a large parking space with other businesses/restaurants so it can get crowded and busy. And the location itself is small with only two small round tables and a few chairs. So it most often is a take-out place and we were prepared to eat in our car if the tables and chairs were occupied but lucky for us, they were empty at the time of our visit. They were also decorated for the Halloween season with cute yet spooky vibes. I appreciated the effort in including seasonal ambiance. The food is mainly snack-type eats like popcorn chicken, takoyaki, fries, and more. But they also have meals like rice dishes and dimsum soup. The soup is filled with so much dumplings and unexpectedly filling. All the foods we ate were satisfying and hit the spot. the drinks are also quite delicious. I recommend the fresh taro milk tea--it's not overly sweet but you can taste the "potato-y-ness" of the taro and it's pleasing. I rarely find a drink like that because typically, the taro milk teas are made with powder flavoring. Try it! The service was friendly and helpful. And since we were able to dine-in, they checked on us just to see if we needed anything and asked if we liked what we were eating. It's a simple, very casual place, with good food and drinks. Sometimes I get 2 of these so I have one for the next morning. It's rare to find places that made taro drinks using actual Taro. Their boba are satisfyingly chewy. And the jasmine tea is fragrant. Another favorite is the grass jelly milk tea. Sometimes they make it themselves which is why it has way better flavor than the cans of grass jelly from the supermarket.
