    Chicken Kabob Bowl

Fantastic food! We ordered the paneer tikka roll, the chicken kebab bowl and lychee lemonade. The chicken kebab bowl was exceptional. The spice levels were perfect, great mix of chicken, veggies and rice in each bite. The paneer tikka roll was perfectly built. The paneer was soft and the yogurt dip that came with the dish complemented it well. The lychee lemonade was great too. Highly recommend as a great Indian/Pakistani/Middle-Eastern joint.

Very nice place to eat. The owners and staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction. I ordered the Lahori Fried Fish which came with rice. This was my first time eating this style of food. Personally, it will take some getting used to for me, but others from the group I was with raved about how wonderful the food was. If you find yourself in the downtown State College area, it is well worth the trip to Cafe Alina!

Really like this little cafe and the owners are as kind as can be. I found the lychee lemonade very refreshing and the naan soo soft. My wife and I both ordered the chicken tikka and sadly felt the chicken was very dry. The seasonings were on point, the rice and vegetables saved the meal. I'm glad I was able to have two sauces to dip my chicken in or I might not have finished it. All around great place, just wanted more tender meat for the price. Will definitely come back and update in case that's not the norm!

Tried the Chicken Tikka bowl and the Samosa Chaat bowl with Naan and Raita sides for lunch. Very flavorful food, and charming atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating as well.

Awful. Dried chicken biranyi and burnt nan and an inedible amount of food and a warm coke to boot.

The texture showed up ready to work. The flavor, however, called out sick and never returned. Every bite sounded incredible and then immediately tasted like air that had been briefly introduced to salt. This place used to be legendary. Life-altering. The kind of chicken that ruined other chicken for you. Now it's fried chicken that crunches confidently while delivering absolutely no message. It's like listening to fireworks with noise-canceling headphones on. And the onion rings -- golden, crunchy, structurally flawless circles of nothing. Perfectly fried, expertly engineered, and seasoned with the restraint of a monastery. I kept waiting for flavor to kick in. It never did. It just stared back at me. Nothing was wrong. Nothing was exciting. I wasn't mad -- I was confused. How can something be this crispy and still say so little? This wasn't bad food. Bad food has opinions. This was food that refused to take a stance. Crown Fried Chicken didn't disappoint me. It crunched loudly, said nothing, and left me alone with my thoughts.

Just a heads up, the prices have definitely went up quite a bit in recent years. 2 lamb/chicken and rice meals and 1 side cost me just under $50. That's a little pricy for what is a large portion but amounts to mostly rice. And then they charge the same for lamb or chicken with rice, but if you want 1/2 lamb and 1/2 chicken, it's an upcharge. I guess I miss when this place was a spot that I could get some super tasty food and grub out for the low$ . But all things have gone up in price so it's not really a knock. Nonetheless it's still a place we choose to eat at nearly every week.

One minute you're…read morejust hungry, the next you're wondering if you should start learning the language and cancel your other dinner plans for the rest of your life. Let's start strong: the baba ganoush was impeccable. Not "pretty good," not "I'd order it again"--impeccable. Creamy, smoky, confidently delicious, like it knew it was the best thing on the table and didn't need to brag. The lamb kabobs then showed up and completely stole the spotlight: tender, perfectly seasoned, and basically melting on contact. And yes, the white sauce comes on the side, which is ideal because it's so good you'll want to dip everything into it--kabobs, bread, possibly your dignity. The mango drink? Absolutely unhinged in the best way. One sip and I forgot what I ordered, where I parked, and what my personality was before this moment. "To die for" feels accurate, but also misleading because you'll want to stay alive long enough to order a second one. And then there's the service. I didn't feel like a customer--I felt like I'd been adopted. We were treated like family, friends, and students all at once, getting an enthusiastic, genuinely fascinating education about the food while being cared for like honored guests. Dining at Rumi feels like stepping into another country where the food is better, the people are warmer, and everyone is just thrilled you showed up. Come hungry. Leave full, happy, and slightly confused about why all restaurants aren't like this.

I placed an…read moreonline order for pickup and as I arrive I'm waiting for 5 minutes at the counter while the worker is on his phone talking to his friends. He finally greets me and asks what I ordered, he then goes to grab my food (which isn't even packed yet) and continues to stay on the phone for another couple minutes in front of me as he slowlyyy packs the food. He then forgets to include one rice and two naans that I paid for. I tell him he forgot the items and he then goes BACK on the phone for another couple minutes before trying to put the items in, which at this point I was too frustrated and didn't want to make a scene so I just left. Safe to say I won't be coming back especially if I have to wait 10 minutes to pick up an online order that's already prepared.
