Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #76 This seems to be a newer renovated Korean-run cafe. It has a huge interior with plenty of seating - I guess this used to be a large bakery cafe given that they haven't removed some of the Great Harvest Bread decor on the exterior. They have a kiosk for easy ordering. Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Light Ice w/ Boba ($6.80) - The drink has kind of a spiced taste to it, which if I remember correctly, I've only encountered before in a small number of Vietnamese boba shops. It's interesting, almost like a like Chai in taste. There's probably a specific variety of tea that results in this flavor profile. The drink otherwise has a bit of a dairy milk taste combined with a bit of a non-dairy creamer taste. It is unfortunately way too sweet for my tastes at 50% sweet. Interestingly enough, they claim their regular sweetness level is 75%, so perhaps in comparison with other boba shops, 37.5% would actually be half sweet? I'm not sure, but I don't think I would ever get a drink here again with more than 25% sweetness. The sweetness is almost cloying and detracts from the rest of the flavors in the drink. Another strange thing they do is claim their drinks come with less ice by default and the only alternate option is no ice, which costs extra. I'll be blunt and say their default ice level is definitely not less ice. Heck, I'd even say it's more than full ice level compared to many other boba shops. The boba served at One Bite Cafe is decent. The chewiness and bounce are pretty good on most pearls. I believe they could use a bit more stirring during the cooking process because there's some consistency issues between pearls in size, firmness, and texture on the exterior, with some being more smooth, and others being more lumpy with a velvet coating on the outside. It's not too much of an issue, but is very noticeable, at least to me. Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 With all that being said, One Bite Cafe seems to be known more for their desserts than their drinks. For a place that doesn't specialize in drinks, it's pretty good. Bathrooms - None in store, but since it's inside a mall, there should be larger ones outside.

Yummy!!!! I tried earl grey cake and dalgona coffee. Loved the flavors in both but the crunchy honeycomb pieces in the coffee were phenomenal. I would love to come try more treats here.

Love this place! discovered it while at the farmer's market on Sundays. Their tuna onigiris are my favorite! My son also loved their sweets!

Relatively new cafe at Lake Forest Towne Center. They have a ton of beverages and desserts. They have gluten free options and so many are from Nuflours. Plenty of seating inside. They have a self checkout kiosk and also staff that can ring you up. Will go back to try more options.

So cool they have so many locations now including this one nearby where I live. I got the mango jasmine milk tea with boba and to my surprise it went so well. Super friendly staff, you should try their croffles too

Dessert Case

I like one bite cafe, the woman working is always friendly but it can get kind've expensive so I don't go too often. The wait time can also be a bit long. I enjoy their desserts, their melon milk tea with lychee jelly is my favorite and I highly recommend. Same with their onigiri, their tuna one is the best imo but it's usually sold out as of late which is a bummer

This place is okay. We enjoyed the match croffle but didn't enjoy waiting 15 minutes. Perhaps I need to try more of the pre-made items.

They even had a gulab jamun inspired ice cream, which really caught my attention. There were four of us, so we ordered a sundae with a brownie and two scoops of ice cream - it was generous and easily enough to share. It was my first time having a brownie served warm with ice cream, and I absolutely loved that touch. The fruit flavors were especially enjoyable, particularly the mango and banana chocolate chip. The cardamom flavor was a bit overpowering for my taste, but the mango was definitely a standout. The staff were incredibly patient and let us sample as many flavors as we wanted, all with a smile. I'll definitely be coming back!

They even pressed the cardamom right in front of us! Overall, a lovely experience and definitely worth a visit.

But first, coffee and breakfast. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which consists of a croissant, egg, lettuce, tomato, mayo and I added bacon for an extra charge. It was solid, with the roasted/warmed up croissant and was filling. I also liked that they had Victrola coffee, which I ordered a drip of. Strong coffee = no complaints. In addition to their made-to-order food items, like the breakfast sandwich, they also have pastries in the case and a full coffee and tea menu. It's nice to have this cafe in the Lake Forest shopping center with plenty of seats around, next to many other businesses and tons of parking nearby. I dig the convenience of it all.

My brother, who also lives and works in the area, tells me constantly how awful the customer service is there when you order food- to the point where he refuses to go. I'm celiac and can't eat anything over there so I hadn't ever experienced what I did today. Today we're at the bookstore together and I decided we need to make a coffee stop. My brother, Loren, orders a sandwich. He says he needs it to go. Person at the register is pleasant enough. I order a coffee separately and am quickly served. We wait a bit for the sandwich, and we finally go up to the counter after maybe ten minutes and see the same sandwich he ordered sitting in a basket. It has a ticket on it that says "Owen." Easy mistake, really. He says, "Is this maybe Loren's?" And the person behind the counter immediately snaps "it says Owen." Okay. So we wait a few more minutes. We're now 15 minutes out and several people who ordered after us are served. He steps up and say "hey, I ordered a BLTA on sourdough for Loren, I think it may have been put in under Owen, but-" and before he can finish his thought they snap back at him again "it's probably yours because this one hasn't been picked up." At this point he's like, "okay, I ordered mine to go- could I-" and the girl behind the counter slams a box on the counter and says "here's a box." And turns away. I'm annoyed, because while I understand we have inconvenienced you, who is standing here chatting with an off-duty coworker for 30 minutes, we literally did nothing to deserve the attitude. Loren scoops the sandwich out of the basket and puts it into the box and this girl has the nerve to turn around and say "dirty dishes go behind you at the service bar." Oh, so now we have to bus YOUR hand-off bar, too? No sorry, no thank you, not even the offer to box up his food or put away the freaking basket. Is it because Loren is very clearly not white? Or is it because this lady today had a bad day and took it out on someone for interrupting her mid-shift gossip about how the mall security is full of idiots who don't do their job? Go ahead and take a gamble and let me know, because I won't be back.

This shop, located right under Third Place Commons, smells heavenly. The rich aroma of melted chocolate seeps out of the store throughout what seems to be the entire mall. Chcoolate Man sells a wide variety of feves/disks, chocolate sculptures, truffles, confections - basically anything a chocolate lover could want. I especially love how they have smaller 1/2 pound bags instead of most high end shops that sell a minimum of 1 pound or 500g. It's great for someone who just wants a bit for tastings and for snacking on afterwards! They also have samples of everything to help decide. For our final tasting, we went with eight types of couverture (three from Chocolate Man) and four types of typical grocery store chocolate chips. Guittard Onyx 72% ($8.31 per half pound) - I tried this one but didn't buy it. This chocolate gives a really intense dark chocolate flavor. Very single note on my tongue. Think of a high quality dark chocolate blend, but amp up that flavor by 5x. It seems great for recipes that just need a really strong dark chocolate flavor without too much complexity. Felchlin Maracaibo 65% ($21.46 per half pound) - It starts off with a bit of a flowery and perfumy aroma, then descends into a very pleasing balanced acidity and smoothness, combined with a bit of a spiced flavor. It's an excellent snacking chip. My favorite of the entire array of 12. Ranked 1/12 Guittard Coucher du Soleil 72% ($9.70 per half pound) - Definitely a darker chocolate, less sweet with pleasing astringency, maybe a little smoky, smooth with some slight red fruit notes on the finish. It's a little strange because the taste between different chips varies a little, with some being more fruity than others. I'm not sure what the cause is. It's a good snacking chip that never gets tiresome to eat and it seems to be good for recipes that require a high quality chocolate that's generally neutral flavored with only slight complexity. Ranked 4/12 Valrhona Manjari 64% ($20.99 per half pound) - Starts with pleasing cocoa flavor but then a second or two later develops an intensely tangy berry flavor that spreads throughout the entire mouth. The flavor is so strong that I find it very difficult to eat more than one feve at a time. It's definitely more of a sipping chip than snacking. Ranked 5/12 Chocolate Man is a fantastic store for any chocolate lover. They even have a little stamp rewards card for freebies every $100 spent. I'll definitely be back for more in the future.
