What a gem this little cafe is tucked away in the back corner of a shopping center. The food rivals any restaurant in Dallas. I recommend that you sit at the and let Aaron entertain you with his cocktail magic. He makes mixing craft cocktails an art form...a true artist and his love for what he does shines through. Had Brunch here on Feb. 9. We were so excited that they were finally offering Sunday Brunch -- a new place to eat after church. We waited over an hour for our food, and it was Awful. Two in our party of four sent their food back because it was so overcooked. We all ordered Eggs Benedict. The service was just as bad as the food. It was an overpriced mess. Barron's, get your act together. If you were a new restaurant, it would be different, but you've been in business many, many years. There's no excuse for the bad food or the bad service. read more

The food is still great, but we have had bad experiences with the service the last 3 times we have visited. Just coordination issues between the kitchen and wait staff, slow, and unattentative. On one occasion, one of us did not receive their food until about 10 minutes after the other two people we were with received theirs. Another, we never received any bread or water after repeatately asking for it. It also took a very long time to get a refill on our drinks on several occasions. Lastly, I ordered the hot n crunchy chicken, as I usually do, and it was pink in the middle (this happened right before moving to the new location in December 2014). We have been frequent customers to Barron's and love the food! The service has just been extremely disappointing since moving to the new location. read more

I would suggest dressing nice but I have ate their wearing casual and felt the services was always professional. Do have to give kudos to the young lady with the beautiful singing voice. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. My previous experience here was before remodeling, several years ago. The new space is quite upgraded. Great ambiance, nice music, terrific service tonight and good food. Appetizers, entrees and salads are a step above most Longview fare. The Pomegranate Salmon and risotto was delicious. Nice wine list. Didn't have room for dessert. We will definitely return - and won't wait several years between visits. read more

My favorite thing about this place was the Crawfish, Spinach and Artichoke dip. It was served with bread and super delicious. Highly recommended! I ordered the Seafood pasta. It has lobster, salmon, shrimp and scallops in lemon butter with peas and capers. The capers gave it just enough kick. It was also really tasty. They also have a great dessert menu. We ordered the Italian Cream cake, Creme Brulee and Vanilla Bean cheesecake. It all must have been good because I heard no one complain. Me and my daughter went for lunch today!! We stood about 5 minuets to be seated, two people nearby but didn't Acknowledge us standing and waiting, it was really awarded feeling. This young lady comes up and says two?, no smile or greeting! It took a couple more minutes before a unfriendly server came and got our drink order. She came back and and said y'all ready to order. I say I need a minute, she walks off we waited about 10 more minuets with menus down. The server walking all around us but never came over to take our order. I finally looked at my daughter and said are you ready to go across the street to Red Lobster because we know we will get good service and fair food!! A restaurant only gets one chance to impress me, and I was not impressed at all! Where was the management at to over see this restaurant??? Popped in here for a double espresso in off peak hours 3-4PM. The barista was an employee pulled from the bookstore side of the store. Wound up asking the employee if I could show them myself since the manager hadn't trained them. Got my espresso but they seriously need to learn how to calibrate their machine. I planned on going here for lunch or dinner because it had a PokéStop but then I heard from other locals that the owner was apprehensive to anyone being on their phones while in the vicinity because they disagree with Pokémon Go. Honestly, I've lived here for 20 years on & off & no one I've met has ever eaten here. That, the minimalist hours & how the patio is dead 100% of the time has assured me that I won't be going. Barron's Restaurant is not near the quality it was before expansion! It used to be our " go to" restaurant when we traveled from Dallas to visit family in Longview. Bar-pretty and appealing Food-ok Service-ok Prices-oh my! Beer/wine selection-fair Pork Tenderloin-tough, very overdone, flavor was not that good. Crispy fish-I could have done better at home. Sauce too sweet. Fish Taco-not much to them, no flavor Nothing exciting about it! Not one thing. My wife, 4 year old daughter, and 4 month old daughter showed up today during off hours and the hostess saw we had kids and set other couples ahead of us (who didn't have kids) right away. The restaurant was basically empty. After she sat the other couples she told us it would be 15 minutes for us to get a table. It was blatant she didn't want to sit us because we had young children. This is a unique restaurant set inside a bookstore. Small and intimate. Moderately priced. They have daily specials that vary. Went in on a Saturday and we were given the brunch menu. I asked for the lunch menu and she said only brunch in the morning. I said it is 12:20 p.m. and she replied only brunch menu on Saturday. I wish they would post that on their website. We should of left right then because very limited menu, not even a regular burger. My table had the Denver omelette, spicy grilled chicken sandwich, and the chicken pasta in wine sauce. Sandwich had nothing on it, very dry. Pasta was just flavorless and the omelette was okay.
