I still love this place. But it's quite clear that when the cat's away, the mice will play. Three girls working this morning. One taller blonde with a ponytail texting on her phone constantly. Literally non stop. The other two just chatting the whole time. 80% of the tables covered in crumbs. No one wiped them the whole time we were there. So we had to swipe it off ourselves. Food and drinks still great. But come on, the place was practically empty so no excuse for the girls to do absolutely nothing. Music still a tad loud. And boo....no more couch to sit on. I like to try and come to a place more than once before I write a review. Ive come several times in the last six months or so, and I can say without hesitation that Cafe Bella has excellent consistency. I had the Sriracha Bacon breakfast sandwich and the Red Chile Mocha coffee. I've never been disappointed by the service, quality, or flavors. When I went today they were slammed. I tend to get all giddy when I find a really good coffee shop. They're so hard to find nowadays. It's either coffee and crappy food or no food or coffee ingredients that are weird and hard to pronounce. And cost way too much. Cafe Bella is not that. Think if Anthony Bourdain and Ellen degenerous opened a coffee shop and had Stevie Nicks decorate and set the vibe. The coffee is awesome. But all the barista specials all make sense. I had a iced peanut butter caramel latte. It's different, but I know what it should taste like, and it's a delicious combination to go with coffee. Pure genius. Ordered the panini of the day. Yes it's 10 o'clock in the morning. I can't resist a grilled sandwich with cheese under any circumstances. It's too hard...so I just give in. Slow roasted red chili pork and mozzarella with greens and balsamic. AMAZING. can't wait until I'm hungry again so I can come back and try more food. Welcoming.... The owner of this place is always very welcoming and ready for a quick chat to catch up. She welcomes everyone with open arms. The location is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. She always has a special something g brewing and her food concoctions are always out of this world. This time I had a earl grey tea and the sandwich of the day. With my luck it was their carne adovada panini. This sandwich required both hands, a knife , and a fork. There was plenty to share. The carne adovada was tender and tasty. The tea was very hot so it took a little time to cool off to sipping temp but it was good. They also have a frlew board games to choose from and plenty of books for singletons to enjoy some quiet time and large groups to join in for a card game or even an informal meeting. AND they make a Red Chile Mocha that is out of this world!!!! Tea and coffee. They have non-dairy options. An average of 6 pastry options everyday in addition to the regular menu. I'm so glad I found this place. My wife and I came here for breakfast and we will definitely be coming back. The menu has so many unique options. I had the cinnamon honey latte and the Sriracha Bacon Sandwich. They also have a pastry display with what looks like freshly baked pastries, but I regretfully did not try one this time. The latte has the perfect amount of sweet. The only thing I didn't like about it was I thought there was too much foam on top - probably about the first two inches of the cup. But even still, the foam itself was delicious with the honey flavor and cinnamon mixed right in. The sandwich is on a green chile roll that is perfectly toasted and crispy. It was nice and spicy with fresh greens on top of the egg. They have a whole tea menu, as well as a children's menu (for drinks), which is fantastic if you have small children like me. Found myself on the other side of the river yet once again. A little reminiscent for me, considering I grew up in Rio. I'm a caffeine fiend and I am always looking for a good place and I don't like to visit starsucks if possible. Sorry. I had to say it. I said it. Don't judge me. I know you feel the same way. Okay, I'm done. Cafe Bella. It's a cute place. Nestled in a small shopping center off of golf course heading north into Rio Rancho. Kind off the beaten path if you are not heading into Rio, but certainly worth the trip if you are near by. The digs are cozy, I could easily find myself just killing some time enjoying one of their many espresso drinks! They also offer food, and I am talking food, food, not just the typical pastry! They offer real breakfast, like waffles and eggs, then there's also sandwiches or paninis and then on certain nights, street tacos! That's what I am talking about. Why aren't they closer to me? Boo. Hiss! The barista, cook, cashier was just delightful! She was so helpful and helped me order a drink that was a little bit more then just espresso (I was going to get the black eye) and I was very happy with what she made me. It wasn't too sweet, which is something I really don't like about most coffee house drinks, they are so sweet that you don't really get to taste and enjoy the coffee itself. It was also the perfect temperature! It wasn't sooo hot to scald your tongue, so you could drink it right away. It kept warm too. I was so happy with the choice to stop here. I look forward to coming back when I have time to stay and chill for a while, perhaps partake in some of the eats they have to offer as well. We were looking forward to trying this place for the first time. We showed up at opening on a Sunday but the site was locked. There were at least 3 workers inside. We waited figured they were just sound a little prep and we're a lurks late in unlocking the doors. They saw us but just stood behind the counter visiting with each other. They works look at us but not acknowledge us or open the doors after waiting about for a while we just left. I love trying new coffee shops so I went to this one close to where I live. The coffee was pretty good. My moms was filled two inches from the brim so that was disappointing. I got the breakfast sandwich which had so much mayo on it that it was the only taste I had. My mom got the waffles with chocolate and bacon on them. I thought it tasted good. While taking my weekly walks to different cafes around the city I decided to try Cafe Bella as it was recommended to me by a close friend of mine. I had been here before about 3 years ago and wasn't very impressed so now I decided to give it another try. I ordered the iced red chile mocha and the savory breakfast sandwich. The mocha was excellent but there was nothing savory about the sandwich. I understand, the lady working was obviously overwhelmed, but that sandwich was dry and just thrown together. Cafe Bella is a treasure, and Rio Rancho is privileged to have it. Terrific espresso from a local roaster, excellent food options. The menu is brief but carefully crafted, and everything on it is wonderful. Customer service is great, and there's plenty of seating (mostly inside, but a few outside, too). Prices are reasonable. If you're visiting the area and are looking for the best espresso, you won't be disappointed here. For what it's worth, I love coffee so much I roast my own at home. Still, there are a few places in metro Albuquerque that make better coffee than I'm able to, and Cafe Bella is a standout among them! It's a real treat to visit and enjoy superior goods. read more

Nothing prepared by chef Michael Gonzales at Cafe Bella Coffee is less than perfect. There. I've said it. Unquestionably the best coffee in town. Michael opened this place in January, 2012. Since then, I have been there more than 200 times. I guess that qualifies as a habit. There are chains like Starbucks, Satellite, Krispy Kreme, and Badass, among others. These serve coffee that is inferior to that served up at the really good places, like Grove Café & Market, Golden Crown Panaderia, Michael Thomas Coffee, Napoli Coffee, and now Cafe Bella Coffee. Cafe Bella Coffee is the brainchild and dream come rue of Michael Gonzales, a classically trained chef, nonstop talker, and coffee freak. He knows coffee. And tea, too. Bella has become somewhat of a community center for artists, musicians (there is often live music on some evenings--watch the Facebook page), car collectors, needlepoint ladies, and whomever loves coffee, delicious panini,, and good conversation. Anyplace. *Turkey Panini My companion is not a pork fan, so Michael built her a sliced turkey panini with baby field greens and the same mozzarella treatment. I have not seen such a look of sheer delight on her face before, and we have shared many meals together. Best that she has ever had, too. Two Best in Show dishes so far. *Espresso Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie Michael thought that we needed something sweet to end the lunch with, so he brought us this brownie to share. One of my all-time favorite candies is the venerable Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (yours too?). Add a hint of chopped nuts and some powdered espresso, and you have this amazing brownie. If the panini were Best in Show, the brownie was Best of Best in Show for the whole year. My mouth is watering as I write these words. OMG! *Taco Tuesday Outstanding. Get there early. Found this spot from a Google Maps search. It's a little out of the way but I like finding and trying to coffee spots especially since we're new to the area. My first visit I ordered a Peanut Butter Caramel Latte and a Sriracha Bacon breakfast sandwich and both were excellent. Food is yummy, coffee is great (toasted coconut latte is my favorite, but the chile mocha is good too) and the vibe is chill. Long time indulger first time visit. Was in the area looking for coffee. Once again yelp did the driving. Having the Bella Mocha with and extra shot (it come with three shots to start with) to boot! Also purchased a bag of their house coffee for home. I'll that review will come later. They have puppy treats also. I snagged the bacon and apple and sweet potato variety. While I'd assert that I'm finally generally comfortable navigating the cement veins of Rio Rancho, I'm still a total amateur out there, and something of a spaz. Once I've breached certain northern territory, let's say Golf Course and Southern, it all looks the same to me, a monotony of tan houses with brown rooftops. My sense of direction is gone and I'm whittled down to trusting my inner caveman, all us men-folk do this: "Me go straight. Mah? No? Me go left. Arrrgh! Me turn around. Bah." (Don't tell anyone, but I actually get directions from my Yelp app. But real men don't ask for directions, so I don't do this, officially.) Cafe Bella is a freaking caffeine dream, the pot o' gold at the end of the Sandoval county rainbow, stuck in a strip mall buried in Rio Rancho. It's as if somebody actually cared about crafting and nurturing a sense of community in this otherwise anonymous suburb, and from what I can tell, it's working. Music, celebrations, weekend waffle parties, and a welcome attitude to locals and visitors alike balances out really terrific coffee (with fresh, real flavorings) and some absolutely jaw-dropping street tacos. I dare you, Albuquerque, to step to these Baja-style corn tortilla bundles of joy. Whoa. So essentially, this is one of comparatively few businesses in Rio Rancho that doesn't just talk the local game, they fully play dat. I got a salad and my mom got a sandwich of the day and they were amazing! The salad had a basalmic and fruit dressing that was out of this world!
