I ordered completely off the New Mexico menu. We had the New Mexico Dutch Baby, the smothered breakfast burrito, and the short rib enchiladas. We had Christmas on everything. 2 out of 3 of our meals had short rib on it and it was really tough and dry. Not what I expected. Their chili sauce was okay but not the best. I tried the New Mexico Dutch baby, and it had a weird sweet taste to the dough that just didn't pair with the rest of the flavors. The meat was tough and the salsa was bland. The only good part was the egg was over medium like I asked, but that was a small part of that meal. I tried the enchiladas that the host said were her favorite. The tortilla tasted like as if you took a pre made tortilla didn't heat it up at all and just put it in with the food, it wasn't soft it had that weird texture like it wasn't heated, again the sauce was bland and the meat was tough. The breakfast burrito was supposed to have bacon, we all tried it and couldn't taste the bacon. Mostly all we tasted was potato there was a whole lot of it, I will say they make decent potatoes but it felt like a potato burrito. The food looks really good on the outside but once you start eating it's just not worth it. I regret going here and I felt like my cheat meal was ruined.

Service was excellent: prompt and thorough. The server, Sel, was gracious and kind. She was attentive to my needs and explained that you can order traditional items that are off the menu. I ordered eggs with bacon and sourdough toast plus the mini babies. The bacon was thick and perfectly crispy. The sourdough is homemade and thick- very good. The mini babies were light, sweet and delicious with real whipped cream and berries. I am definitely coming back!

This is a great brunch spot. I loved the decor, simple but gave a slightly rustic feel, very charming. They offer a variety of sweet and savory options, and even have a kids menu. All the food tasted delicious! I especially enjoyed the lavender cappuccino and the Brie Dutch baby. They also bake their own breads, I bought a loaf of the cinnamon babka to go and it was so yummy when lightly toasted. Service was great! Our server was so friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience! Will definitely stop by again when I'm next in town.

Went for lunch today and took a friend for a bday treat! The restaurant has expanded opening up the room next to it! More tables! I ordered the NM Dutch baby which had two eggs cooked perfectly to my liking, a Dutch baby pancake-style bottom with the cheese, avocado, eggs, green chili, onion, radish, and greens on top. FANTASTIC! Very filling and so delicious! My friend got the Croque Monsieur. He loved it! I live way across town from this place, but it's always been such a treat to eat here. Highly recommend. Super nice and attentive wait staff, clean and bright surroundings, but the food was the highlight! So good! And as I looked at other plates being brought out, I realized how beautiful and plentiful they looked! Can't wait to return! Oh...chocolate mousse were served two on the plate. They were in inverted chocolate rounds and were totally decadent and scrumptious! The gluten free vanilla custard tart with berries on top was fresh tasting and delicious. That dessert also comes two to the plate!

Support this local business!! Great atmosphere and great staff. The coffee was great and food was awesome. I got the NM Dutch baby after several people recommended it to me. It was delicious and fresh!! This is a for sure a great breakfast spot and I'm looking forward to trying their lunch in the near future.

I remember going to this when they first opened and it was decent but I haven't gone back since. Lily and Liam's Bistro has a cozy vibe and friendly staff. Our server was super welcoming and attentive, which made the experience pleasant. Unfortunately, the Bombay Bagel I ordered didn't quite hit the spot for me. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. That said, my friend enjoyed their dish, so maybe it's just personal taste! Solid service and a cute atmosphere, but I'd probably try something different next time.

Happy to report that now that I am gluten free that I can still enjoy this delicious restaurant! Went today with my husband and mother in law. We always love this place. They have expanded next door since the last time we came and that's wonderful so there is a lot more seating. I still recommend a reservation for breakfast on a weekend. Call the day before as they do not do same day reservations. Now on to the food! Their coffee is the bomb as they brew the local Whispering Bean coffee. There are multiple options in salads for gluten free and some NM options. I had the Carne Adovada Tacos! Amazing!! Corn tortillas with carne adovada with red chile, avocado, potatoes, and scrambled eggs topped with micro greens and a side of pinto beans. You get 3 tacos and they are full of good stuff! I ate two and took the third home with the pinto beans. I ate the leftovers for lunch! Yum! The tacos were so good and I'm definitely coming back! My husband has the Madam Hatch and enjoyed it and my mother in law had a Dutch Baby. We shared a side of bacon too. We also got freshly brewed to go coffees on our way out. Thank you Lily and Liam for another wonderful meal! Our waitress was so great too! Thanks!!

I don't even know where to start but here goes. The New Mexican Philly cheesesteak, arguably my favorite dish, very very different take on what a cheesesteak usually is (not in a bad way). I was first skeptical when I ordered it, but I saw all the great reviews on the dish so I had to try. This was oddly enough my 4th favorite Philly cheesesteak I've ever had, which is weird to say because the first 3 favorites were actually in Philly and made the traditional way. Something about the spicy queso sauce and the soft fatty tasting meat just really brought it home. The huevos rancheros: every inch was flavorful , saucy, cheesy and lovely. I enjoyed even more the parts where I could also taste the tortilla at the bottom, wish it was in more of the dish but it's okay the flavors were outstanding. Another 5 star dish! Next time I'll also try it with eggs over medium. The Xmas chile cheese fries: best chile cheese fries in New Mexico! The fries themselves tasted like they were hand cut, so either they had some high quality freezer fries or they definitely cut those fries by hand. Either way I wasn't complaining! Their green chile was insanely good. We also had the Green Chile stew, the flavors and ingredients were really good. I think for people that love home cooking this will feel really nostalgic for them. Like grandmas caldo she used to make. For me, the dry texture of the beef reminded me way too much of my mom's dry / rough beef she always had in her stews . Objectively I can say it was a really nice caldo, but the tortillas, not sure how I could grab on to much of the food with it really. I think this might be a dish best eaten in house. I also tipped their staff $2 in addition to the driver tip , and they wrote a funny joke on the plate which I thought was cute haha. I kept the rating at 5 stars but I hope that management reads this review because I do have one critique. All the food was in styrofoam and non sustainable plastic. Styrofoam especially has been banned from some places including California because when heated it, it adds cancer causing chemicals into your food. I would gladly pay $0.35 per meal to receive the meals in sustainable packaging that will keep me healthy. Because of this, I think I won't be ordering from here for delivery and hope that I have time to make the 20 minute drive to go there in person. It's really good food! Found this place on DoorDash but the funny part is it's been near my house the whole time next to the barber shop I've been to plenty of times.

It is definitely out of the way, but worth it to be able to try something new. Albuquerque is obviously not known for its selection of German food but this is it if you're looking for it. I would describe this as a bakery / specialty grocery store / eatery. They have a variety of baked goods, including strudel and whole cakes. They also have a lunch menu with German delicacies and some grocery items that you can pick up to go. I came out of time where I wasn't super hungry and was only there for a sweet treat, but I would definitely like to eventually go back and try some of the savory foods. It's solid New Mexican cooking by…read morea skilled artisan - notably tastier than most local places _even in spite of_ the fact that no animal products are used in the chile. Yes, the chiles are vegan. (So are the beans - pressure-cooked to creamy tenderness.) Yes, they're delicious - both the red (from pods!) and the green. (And, yes, it's me - noted grumpy traditionalist who usually wants an extra scoop of bacon grease in pretty much every dish - who's writing that.) The room is small, but well thought-out. There are nice little two-top tables outside along the sidewalk/patio in this pleasant part of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Lavender Cocinita is popular, with a steady stream of folks coming in - but I've never had a problem getting seated and I've never felt rushed (even when sitting a while, jabbering in the chile afterglow). (Free parking is plentiful in the area, but a little weird in the Los Ranchos pedestrian area: your best bet might be trying for street parking on Tyler Road, the E/W street just N of the restaurant.) The chef is friendly and will answer questions. The counter folks have always been friendly and kind: checking on us periodically. Really nice folks. It's an order-at-the-counter/pay/take-a-seat/they-bring-it-to-you place, but the service is good enough that you'll kick yourself if you don't tip heavier than usual for such an arrangement. Get your own water at the counter. Food is cooked to order (perfectly in all my visits thus far) and will take a few minutes to get to your table, but you'll be happy. Portions are always large (I leave full, and I'm a big eater) and the cost is on the low edge of today's pricing. The chiles are real-deal: they tend to be notably more piquant than at most places in town but they're real chile and vary in heat with the batch being served (I am used to and appreciate heat and one time the green was HOT!). As noted, the flavors are just wonderful. Bear in mind, NM red and green chiles are relatively simple sauces with few components: the artistry of the chef and the quality of the ingredients are absolutely vital to the flavor impact of the finished product served - and Lavender Cocinita absolutely nails this. Foodies have written the place up over and over, and they've won awards that would impress folks in the know in the short time (less than two years) they've been open. Without being melodramatic, this place gives a serious-about-the-flavors vibe that reminds me of those noted in places that have won James Beard American Classic awards. Lavender Cocinita is a reasonably inconvenient drive for me, but every time I've made it I've driven back with a grin and a vow to do it again soon.

I stopped by for lunch and found the menu offered a nice variety of choices. I ordered the Los Ranchos Turkey sandwich with homemade chips and a Lavender Iced Tea. My sandwich arrived about 24 minutes after ordering, which may have been due to the lunch rush. Including tip, lunch came to about $30. While the price point felt a little high for the overall experience, the quality and flavor of the food helped balance that out. Overall, I enjoyed the food and appreciate having another locally owned option in the neighborhood.
