My wife and I have been going to Lily and Liam since it opened. And we supported all of their other locations when they existed. Why? We have never eaten a bad meal here. Dozens of meals of all sorts. Including special evenings when they served dinners. We are regulars because the food is great, the service impeccable and not intrusive, and the indoor setting relaxing enough that you just want to sit there and enjoy. Highly recommended. I like this breakfast/brunch place in Rio Rancho! I rarely go to Rio Rancho but had recently gone out to meet my friend for lunch on a weekend and was not disapointed we went to Lily and Liam Bistro at all. The restaurant was small and probably isn't as suitable for large parties, but with less than 6-8 people in your parties (ideally 1-4 people in your party would be ideal), you should be ok. I liked that while the menu wasn't super big, there were things for just about anyone. The food was also very fresh and plated simply beautifully. At least the food that my friend and I ordered seemed clean and healthy. The portion and prices I felt were also just right and reasonable. I would definitely come back again! P.S. parking spots right in front of the restaurant may be limited, but some open gravel parking lots in the back can also be used as well. read more

I ordered completely off the New Mexico menu. We had the New Mexico Dutch Baby, the smothered breakfast burrito, and the short rib enchiladas. We had Christmas on everything. 2 out of 3 of our meals had short rib on it and it was really tough and dry. Not what I expected. Their chili sauce was okay but not the best. I tried the New Mexico Dutch baby, and it had a weird sweet taste to the dough that just didn't pair with the rest of the flavors. The meat was tough and the salsa was bland. The only good part was the egg was over medium like I asked, but that was a small part of that meal. I tried the enchiladas that the host said were her favorite. The tortilla tasted like as if you took a pre made tortilla didn't heat it up at all and just put it in with the food, it wasn't soft it had that weird texture like it wasn't heated, again the sauce was bland and the meat was tough. The breakfast burrito was supposed to have bacon, we all tried it and couldn't taste the bacon. Mostly all we tasted was potato there was a whole lot of it, I will say they make decent potatoes but it felt like a potato burrito. The food looks really good on the outside but once you start eating it's just not worth it. I regret going here and I felt like my cheat meal was ruined. read more

I'm really conflicted about this one. It's a 3.5 star for me. I've eaten here 3x and each experience was different. Primarily the food but also the service. The ambiance has also changed with their remodel/expansion but I liked both. The service was very friendly and enthusiastic on my first two visits. It was understated on my third, but hey, we're all tired and low-energy at times. Food: I've had three dishes here and tasted a couple others. The maple Dijon salmon (salad or sandwich) is amazing, and my favorite meals so far. The Monte Cristo was good, but not my favorite I've had. My most recent meal was a big disappointment. My protein was cooked and seasoned beautifully, but it arrived atop some of the worst grits I've ever been served. They were lukewarm-to-cool, thick, borderline clumpy, overcooked, underseasoned and unappetizing. Unfortunately I came hungry and it was a longish wait to order and receive food, so I was starved by the time my food came. So I felt unable to send it back, and ate some of the grits but left most. I make grits, and I could tell on sight, before tasting, that they weren't right. Those grits should not have been served, period. They were not to temp or consistency. It was evening. They were definitely not made to order. I think they'd been around for a long time. I will go back, hoping for better. When the kitchen executes, I think the food here is very good for the price point. When it does not, I think it's overpriced. I'll update my review based on future experiences. read more

Our go to place for a nice quiet brunch. Food and service are also outstanding. Everything on the menu is good but my favorite is the French Toast Almondine. Just the right amount of sweetness and almond blend that go nicely with a side of sausage. My wife is a bit more daring and has sampled a few more items than me. This is a great brunch spot. I loved the decor, simple but gave a slightly rustic feel, very charming. They offer a variety of sweet and savory options, and even have a kids menu. All the food tasted delicious! I especially enjoyed the lavender cappuccino and the Brie Dutch baby. They also bake their own breads, I bought a loaf of the cinnamon babka to go and it was so yummy when lightly toasted. Service was great! Our server was so friendly and helpful. Service was excellent: prompt and thorough. The server, Sel, was gracious and kind. She was attentive to my needs and explained that you can order traditional items that are off the menu. I ordered eggs with bacon and sourdough toast plus the mini babies. The bacon was thick and perfectly crispy. The sourdough is homemade and thick- very good. Went for lunch today and took a friend for a bday treat! The restaurant has expanded opening up the room next to it! More tables! I ordered the NM Dutch baby which had two eggs cooked perfectly to my liking, a Dutch baby pancake-style bottom with the cheese, avocado, eggs, green chili, onion, radish, and greens on top. FANTASTIC! Very filling and so delicious! My friend got the Croque Monsieur. He loved it! I live way across town from this place, but it's always been such a treat to eat here. Highly recommend. Super nice and attentive wait staff, clean and bright surroundings, but the food was the highlight! So good! And as I looked at other plates being brought out, I realized how beautiful and plentiful they looked! Can't wait to return! Oh...chocolate mousse were served two on the plate. Happy to report that now that I am gluten free that I can still enjoy this delicious restaurant! Went today with my husband and mother in law. We always love this place. They have expanded next door since the last time we came and that's wonderful so there is a lot more seating. I still recommend a reservation for breakfast on a weekend. Call the day before as they do not do same day reservations. Now on to the food! Their coffee is the bomb as they brew the local Whispering Bean coffee. There are multiple options in salads for gluten free and some NM options. I had the Carne Adovada Tacos! Amazing!! Corn tortillas with carne adovada with red chile, avocado, potatoes, and scrambled eggs topped with micro greens and a side of pinto beans. You get 3 tacos and they are full of good stuff! I ate two and took the third home with the pinto beans. I ate the leftovers for lunch! Yum! The tacos were so good and I'm definitely coming back! My husband has the Madam Hatch and enjoyed it and my mother in law had a Dutch Baby. We shared a side of bacon too. We also got freshly brewed to go coffees on our way out. The food was great. I had the honey cake which was delicious but incredibly small - like a two biter. For the price of it, I expected something bigger. My friend got eggs, bacon and French toast, and he loved it all. Very expensive for the amount of food, hence the four rating. As a first timer I was really looking forward to eating here with a group of friends. They accepted reservations so that helped greatly in getting a party of 7 seated quickly. After our orders were taken things went down hill rapidly. At least 3 of the orders were stone cold. When we asked if they could microwave them we were told they didn't use one. For the egg dishes (disgustingly cold) we were offered extra mornay sauce. This sauce is supposed to have cheese in it. Ours did not. Rather it was a basic white sauce with nary a shred of cheese in sight. The other order was French toast. It looked delightful but it too was cold. I was so disappointed. It's a shame we drove all the way to Rio Rancho just to have been served mediocre (at best) food. read more

Food is also very good and superbly prepared although I've been so often that I kind of tire of it. Only about half of the menu seems interesting to me to begin with. We got an assortment of Dutch babies so our friend from New York could taste them. She had the one with short ribs and loved it. Another had the potato pancake with scrambled eggs and veggies on top. I had the Dutch Baby Benedict with hollandaise sauce. We shared the mini babies with melted Brie and the large baby with fresh fruits and whipped cream. The one one item came with great toast with butter and homemade jam. The jam was our only disappointment and tasted like baby food. So staying true to trying new places and local businesses, we tried Lily and Liam Bistro. It was very quaint and friendly. We were greeted immediately when we walked in. There was no wait, and looking around, the food everyone was eating looked amazing. They had two specials, and we ordered, and the food came out fairly quickly. I ordered the special of the Dutch baby Benedict, which was a bacon wrapped Dutch baby filled with egg yolks and hollandaise sauce and potatoes. My husband had the NM Dutch babies, which had braised short rib, green Chile, two types of cheese and your choice of eggs. The temp on mine was lukewarm, but the flavor was amazing. My husband was great and his had amazing flavor. Both were seasoned perfectly. We will definitely be back. read more

What a cute little bistro at the edge of Rio Rancho and the Westside of Albuquerque. I picked this place because it was close to my mom's dog's groomer and had great reviews on Yelp. The place is small and busy. The servers seemed stressed or something. Not overly happy at first but they were kind and took care of me and other customers around us. I ordered a green chili chicken panini with side of fruit and quinoa. The taste of everything together was phenomenal. I really enjoyed the quinoa and fruit combo. There is a berry sauce on it that tasted wonderful. I had never eaten quinoa with fruit. Unfortunately though still delicious, the panini was a ton of bread with barely any chicken or cheese. I did ask if this was typical of their sandwiches. They tried really hard to accommodate me offering me a different meal or some extra chicken. I was on a time constraint so I couldn't stay any longer. To my surprise they did comp me for my sandwich. I felt bad though because I really love supporting local diners so I bought some chocolate mousse to take so that I could support them and also leave a tip.
