Cafe Cappuccino is a beautiful place to eat in the morning but when we got our table there wasn't any chairs so she had to go grab some which wasn't a big deal but then after we ordered it took it forever to get our food, once the food hit the table my pancake was luke warm and after eating more than half of it I find a long strang of hair inside my pancake. I knew it wasn't my because I had to pull it out of the pancake! Our waiter only checked on us once was when we ordered our food and I have no clue when we will get the check still waiting for that! read more

Not sure why this place doesn't have higher reviews! I'm a breakfast snob, and this place was awesome. No one ever gets an egg white omelette right... it's always greasy or under/over cooked. Not here. Their egg white omelette was perfect. We had buttermilk, banana & chocolate chip as well as sweet potato pancakes. They were all perfect. My kids chocolate milk was also spot on. You should come here and give it a try. The only downside might be the wait time. We only waited about 5 min, but I saw the line getting longer when we left. Best breakfast in Waco. read more

Our waitress was rude and condescending. No one checked in to refill my "bottomless coffee" order. Waitress forgot to bring us our checks, left us sitting there for half an hour after we were done, and did not bring the to go boxes we asked for. Also, the scrambled eggs looked more like omelettes. I've gone here so many times with many different people, and even by myself, and it never disappoints. The service is great, the food is great, the music choice is great. The staff is so friendly. Today, for example, I stopped in for breakfast by myself, and both the hostess and the server I see the most frequently greeted me like a friend. The server even came up to chat later, even though I wasn't one of her tables, and she told me she'd missed seeing me come in and had been expecting me. I can't say enough great things about this place. Food's a little on the pricey side, but nothing ridiculous and you definitely get your money's worth (both in terms of portion size and quality). read more

The food was great, which is why this has 2 stars and not 1. Our server, Yasmine, was terrible. We saw her maybe three times during our whole experience. We had to get up and ask a manager for Cholula. We asked a bus boy for water, twice. One member of our party ordered 3 minutes after us, and he never got his food. We waited 30 minutes for her to come back and give us our checks before I got up to go ask her at the front myself. She was just sitting talking with other staff members. She asked our friend if he even still wanted his food and argued at length with us over why it took so long, saying the kitchen was slammed. She continued to argue with us when we pointed at tables that we watched get seated and get their food before him. We were at our table for about 2 hours. The food is poor. The service is worse. I live in Waco and have dined here several times. I would rate each of my experiences somewhere between mediocre and dumpster fire. In recent visits I have ordered a standard breakfast item like sausage, bacon or eggs and received something that was indistinguishable as food. The consistent inadequacy in every facet of this place points to bad management and ownership. The one good thing is the location which is a shame, and along with a shortage of downtown breakfast options is why cafe cap stays open. read more

Yesterday, the wait was 45 minutes which made us think this is going to be great! After being seated, we didn't see a waitress for 10 minutes. Finally, a young lady comes by to take a drink order. We waited and waited...no drinks. Another lady comes by, she also takes our drink order. She never returns...ok? Hmm, the first young lady comes back and ask us AGAIN for drink order and returns about 5 minutes later with drinks. Twenty five minutes have went by before we even get our food order in. Delicious food and good service at Cafe Capp. I've been to the restaurant a few times and each time they haven't disappointed me. They serve a good potion size of food. The one thing I would not order again is the coffee. It was watered down but the service is so good they took the charge off my check...no issue. Cafe Cap was always my go-to breakfast place when I was at Baylor, and it's still great! They give you a lot of food for the price. It's a nice change of pace to spend $8 on a meal rather than $15 like we're used to in DFW. Their lattes are huge (and mild on the coffee FYI) and the pancakes are consistently good. Today I had the gluten free pancake and couldn't even tell it was GF. My husband couldn't tell either. We actually asked to be sure it was! Every time I go to Cafe Cap, I always say it will be my last time, but that's how this place is still in business, because despite terrible service, everyone just keeps coming back. The food is good and they have great prices, but they always have the worst customer service. I've been going here since I was in college 8 years ago and not one thing has changed. Expect a wait, expect them to be rude, and don't expect refills on coffee or for your food to come out at the same time. But the food is good! read more

The worst, will NEVER be coming back. Today we went to celebrate a co-workers birthday. A few of our meals came out cold. When our friend sent hers back, the server said "were going to microwave it is that ok?" To which she replied "no, I don't want nuked eggs". They refused to remake it as well. She then asked to just remove it from the bill, since she hadn't eaten it. They said that was against company policy and IF THE MEAL WASNT PAID FOR THEY WOULD CALL THE COPS. They brought out the bills even though she had no food in front of her and had not eaten a thing. The servers replied they themselves would pay for it. Now, how unfortunate these girls work at a place that they have to pick up tabs for dissatisfied customers or alternatively, have the cops called on the customers. Being from Las Vegas, a place built on customer service and hospitality, I have NEVER heard of such terrible policies. Furthermore, all support staff and supervisors reiterated the same policies. When asked for the owners information, we were advised that he "does not allow his cell or email to be given out" and we were instead provided the main number. What sort of owner doesn't want to hear from his customers or try to remedy dissatisfaction. Your business is built on your community. What a joke. Cafe Cappuccino lost 12 customers directly today and all of our friends and coworkers. I feel horrible for the servers who have to work for such a god awful company. read more

My family and I came in for Mother's Day breakfast and we were served by Te'jara. It was probably the worst Mother's Day/breakfast experience we've had. I waited 10 minutes for a cup of coffee after asking multiple people one of which was our server. Then after waiting about 25 minutes for our food the pancakes came out cold and everyone but my mom had received her food. We had to wait an additional 10 minutes for her food to come out but at least hers was hot. I work at a restaurant myself and understand the servers aren't responsible for the food taking so long but our server genuinely didn't care about anything except her tip at the end. I was appalled by the service we received and will not be returning. read more

Highly unimpressed! This place has the most terrible service. The food was very slow and not amazing. My food came at least 20 minutes before my daughter's food and I was already finished eating. My coffee took 20 minutes to arrive to the table as well. We were never offered refills and when asked to speak with a manager I was told they did not have one nor any supervisor on duty. That may be the explanation for the rude wait staff and terrible service. Perhaps a manager should be on duty at all times to be sure everyone is doing their job timely. Experienced probably the rudest host ever at this location. 2 weeks ago we came in and he gave me some serious attitude. Decided to let it slide since everyone has a bad day, and I, working in the restaurant business understand the frustrations. Then we came in today at 130 to grab a quick bite to eat, the first hostess asked us how many, and stared getting a table ready for 2. Then this host, tall dark hair, and glasses, comes us and says "we aren't taking anymore" I stand there and look confused and he explains "we aren't taking anymore, we're about to close". They close at 2:00.... we got no condolences, no apologies, nothing. To the managers of this establishment, the first impressions your guests have is of this rude and unprofessional host. Inattentive service, server only came to take order and give check. Ordered an Americano, got regular coffee. Ordered an extra shot of espresso, never got it, but was charged 2.00 on the check. The food is ALWAYS amazing but I have had a few issues. For a while I would every weekend I was off but slowly things began to change. I came once during the week a little after 1 and it was very slow compared to the busy weekends. I ordered a cappuccino and watched them make it. But instead of using fresh milk, she used milk that had already been steamed. She re-steamed the milk and when I tasted it, it tasted like the milk was old. I told my server and she apologized and made another. Still the milk was old! So I decided I didn't want it anymore. The past 2 or 3 times I've come, I've had pretty bad service. One server I had was a Hispanic lady who was on the thicker side. Her attitude was harsh and she acted as if we were bothering her. Normally I'd say maybe it's been a rough day but I've encountered her on several occasions and her attitude is the same! Not even a smile! On a different occasion I had a younger Hispanic lady. She was very sweet and was very knowledgeable of the menu. After we placed our order we saw her a few times and she simply vanished. We waited for our food for almost an hour and we asked another sever where she was and she let us know the girl had left but she'll bring our food and ticket in a moment. I typically get the two-egg combo with bacon and hash browns (and toast or pancake) so I can't speak to some of the fancier items on the menu but the food is always good and the cappuccinos are delish (served in a large mug). After coming here several times over the last year and a half this morning is my last straw. I won't be coming back. Their customer service is materially lacking in professionalism, and their operation is extremely disorganized. My party of two ordered omlets. The waitress said we can make any additions or substitutions. We asked if we can substitute for egg whites, and asked if there was any additional charge to do so. She said there was no charge. Lo and behold the bill comes back and there is a $1.35 up charge for egg whites. We ran this by the waitress and she responded with "oh they never used to charge for egg whites but I've been off for a week so I don't know if they changed their policy." She then took our bills and went off. She came back a few minutes later, and said that they always have charged for egg whites. I asked how this was our fault, as we ordered egg whites bases on the premise that there would not be any extra charge. She then asked "I'm assuming you want this adjusted?" to which we replied "yes of course." She disappeared, and some time later a "manager" looking fellow came to our table and curtly asked "sir what's the problem here?" I reiterated our issue. At this point, he repeated that they have always charged for egg whites, and the waitress should have known better. Then he adamantly stated there was nothing they could do here--because, get this-- we already ate the omelettes! He said that if we didn't already eat them then they could've fixed it! But this logic made no sense. How were we to know that an extra charge would be incurred *prior* to the our consumption of the meal, when the bill doesn't come out until *after* we finish eating the meal?! Especially when the waitress explicitly informed us that there would be no such charge? At the end of the conversation he blatantly refused to adjust the charge, saying that "this is the way they do things here." I asked him if he was really going to fight us on this, to which he tried to aver that he wasn't fighting... So at the end we just had to bite the bullet on something that wasn't our fault to begin with. THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS. The point of this is not $1.35 charge. The point is that we were lied to as customers and then were punished for the mistake of their own employees. We could've made a better informed decision about what to order had we been provided with the right information. The wait staff was unprofessional in their demeanor. Moreover, there were other minor screw ups which led to an overall bad experience. My dining mate did not get everything he ordered in his omlette. I did not get ketchup until I flagged down a waiter/waitress for the third time, even though I ordered it with my meal. I ordered a glass of water but only received it after I finished my meal. Our waitress never came back to check on us after we received our food. There was little to no apologies for any wrongdoing or ill-treatment. These are basic fundamentals of customer service that is expected but was missing here. I will never be back again, and will absolutely caution anyone I know to refrain from eating here. read more
