    Chorizo Burro

Small restauant seemingly on the far side of town. We shared the Chorizo Burro and Pancake Platter, pancakes, eggs, sausage and Hash Browns. Go for the breakfast which is a good portion and great for the $$. This place could get busy on weekends and is solid. The locals and students know about it and is a gem.

Fast service. Reasonable price. Authentic. Busy - about the same amount of people order for take home and eat in-house. Delicious caldo de res, menudo, carnitas or barbacoa plates.. This restaurant is more about the food and service than about style and image. Cash only which would be only downside if you didn't bring any.

Amazing food and fast and friendly service, they have a great selection of breakfast lunch and dinner items, breakfast can be served all day. They have homemade sauces, the green one is my favorite, sodas are served in cans, and the have a variety of Mexican sodas, food is served with generous portions, and when I say generous I mean that two people can eat off of it, but it's sooo good that you won't want to share. The beans and rice are very delicious, Can seat a family of 8 no problem. I saw a review that complained about the decor, but I don't have an issue with it, as long as it's clean and the food is great, no problem for me.

Love the carnitas, rice & beans and the tortillas are great too! The service is great! Only down side is that it's small and feels crowded.

I enjoyed every bite of their freshly made Tex-Mex food. Delicious Family style meals. Come in with a huge appetite.

Of course there were some beers that we ordered but did not like. However we found a couple that we throughly enjoyed. We even took a couple cans home! The food was amazing! The pretzel was a little inconsistent, crunchy in some areas and super soft in others, but it hit the spot either way. Their garlic fries were definitely garlicky, don't order if you don't like a lot of garlic. The food did not come out together, but we were ok with that. The mushroom burger, grilled cheese, and fish and chips were all delicious! The grilled cheese was even loved by our picky son! The fish was crispy on the outside and so flaky and tender on the inside. The burger may have been frozen, but the mushrooms and Gouda totally made up for that! Good beers, great food, friendly and attentive staff! If we find ourselves in Waco again, we will definitely be stopping by.

Honestly, the only thing I was disappointed by (and the only reason I gave it 3 stars) is the use of ai slop on the menu. Ya'll -- in this day and age, ai slop pictures are only going to hurt you. Go back to whatever menu you had before you made this one, because it sucks.

Found this gem on Yelp and decided to give it a try after reading the menu and reviews. SO glad we…read moredid! It's off the beaten path which is nice because we were able to find parking. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and directed to choose a table of our preference. The waitress quickly came over and grabbed our drink order while we looked at the menu. We placed our order and the waitress was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. She also informed us they work as a team so we can stop anyone when/if we need something. We started with the "Burning Bush" appetizer (crispy Brussel sprouts w/ lemon garlic aioli). YUM! They had just the right bite to them, and the glaze on them paired with the aioli was delicious! For our entrees we had the Golden Calf Burger w/ sweet potato fries and sriracha aioli and The Weight of Glory Sandwich w/ broccoli slaw. They were both incredibly flavorful and fresh! You can tell they locally source their ingredients and prepare them onsite. The portions are also plentiful, and we left with a takeout box. To round off lunch we tried the special mousse on the specials board (coffee flavored cheesecake mousse). It was so delightful we dug in before I could snap a pic. Just enough coffee flavor paired with chocolate sauce (not hersheys ). The big windows allow for a lot of natural light and lends to a welcoming and warm environment. We will for sure be back and bring others!

I especially enjoyed how the herbed goat cheese mixed with the lemon aioli (aioli is garlic mayo so the garlic is redundant in the menu) and beef patty. That combo was deadly to me, oof Some nice cold coleslaw to compliment the hot burger was a nice mix. I still haven't forgotten how heavy their tomato soup is! So packed with flavor omg. Friendly + quick staff as always and gorgeous wooden seating.
