DO NOT ORDER THE HASH BROWNS. They are soggy and not good. The management of the restaurant is horrible. He makes the waiters pay for food that people send back because it is unsatisfactory. I told them the hash browns were soggy and the manager said "that's how they tell us to make them. We won't refund you." Then when I asked for the managers contact info it was a HUGE ordeal. I will not be coming back and will definitely be contacting the owner as soon as possible. This was at their new Uptown location on Sat 12/16/2017. BTW - they close @ 2pm. This is NOT a coffee shot; I would liken it to more of a local chain IHOP. Espresso is offered, and they tout their Cappucino's, but they are sorely lacking in the basic mechanics of coffee/espresso. They only offer 2% Cows Milk and Soy. OK, I can deal with that, my 2 older Granddaughters can do Soy - so I order (2) Soy Hot Chocolates. The arrive and guess what? Their Hot Chocolate is an instant mix that was added to hot Soy milk - but the mix contains .... NONFAT MILK SOLIDS ... which of course completely violates the non-dairy choice of Soy Milk. Also ordered (2) Mochas (which they refer to as Mocha Lattes) neither of which came with ... wait for it ... CHOCOLATE...... Yes, I was able to enjoy a Mocha w/o chocolate. I don't eat meat or eggs so I asked for the breakfast tacos with only beans, potatoes and cheese. Easy enough you'd think. However, when they brought them to me each taco had two big slices of bacon. I visited the location in downtown off of 6th and it was love at first visit. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing with the servers paying great attention to their patrons. I ordered the hot chocolate and a cinnamon role and not let down in the least. The hot chocolate came out in a graciously oversized mug that made you feel like a kid again. Went there for lunch with a co-worker. I ordered the Grilled Pastrami and Swiss on Rye... when asked if what side I would like, my choices were pasta, chips or fruit. I asked what kind of chips they were, the waitress said I could pick between Sun Chips and regular chips... I decided I would have the fruit, since it sounded like I could by the same chips they offered from a vending machine... The sandwich arrived and it certainly wasn't grilled... more like toasted and it was really small... I went there this morning with a friend. We were waiting outside because this location is extremely small and cramped....and because we waited outside on name got skipped on the list and we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our table. I though it was really ridiculous that they didn't call our name outside because there was at least 20 people waiting outside and the hostess was fully aware. Our waitress was ok....but she never refilled any of our drinks. She only took our order and brought us the check. The food was good...but the service here sucks. read more

I am extremely frustrated. I waited for 10 minutes to get seated. The waitress smiled and was nice but seemed to be incapable of taking the correct orders or bringing us our food before it got cold. And we didn't even get all of the food. We waited for 52 minutes before deciding we were not going to be able to get our complete order. Manager was rude and would not even bring us cheese. Extremely frustrated, not sure why I got out of bed for this. Don't waste your time here, you can get better service and better food anywhere. Best pancake in Waco. Great service. Good omelets. The eggs Benedict was good. Very cool decor. Great location downtown. Expect a wait on the weekends if you get there after 9:00 or if there is an event at Baylor. A little pricey for breakfast but the quality matches. There is no doubt that the food here is very good. However, the service is terrible at all the locations. The wait staff looks miserable. After being seated, you consistently wait too long for someone to take a beverage order. After your food arrives your server only comes back to bring your check. The service was decent and our waitress was polite. The reason I give this place 2 stars is because of the food and coffee. My parents ordered 2 coffees and 1 cappuccino and it was awful. No flavor, very weak, and it tasted like water. The food was all very processed and nothing tasted authentic. I ordered the Mexican scramble and my mom ordered the Migas. You could tell just from looking at the food that its mainly canned food. Perhaps the pancakes would have been a better option. The coffee, cappacino was terrible and customer service was just as bad.. we had to place our order with two different waitresses who obviously didn't like each other. My only guess as to why there was a line outside the restaurant is the lack of restaurants in the area. The food was mediocre at best. Got to CC on a Friday morning 4-22-16 at 8:45 am, waited 15 minutes to be seated, 10 minutes for coffee and an hour for our breakfast. Two of the five breakfasts were wrong and all were Denny's, on a really bad day, at best. Our waitress said that they only had one guy that could bring out food and he was running behind. We offered to go get our food from the kitchen ourselves. No refills of coffee were offered without jumping up and down to flag someone down. Perhaps the worst breakfast experience I've had. Honestly the worst experience I've ever had. Came in with a group of seven, four of which are active duty military, after raving about how much I loved this place. Wait was forty minutes, which was fine since it was a Saturday. We waited and were seated. The experience started out alright, we ordered our drinks and food. The food that arrived was INEDIBLE. Instead of offering to remake the food, the waitress provided no help. The food was left on the table, uneaten. The checks arrived completely wrong with several overcharges. A waitress from another table came over offering to take drinks off of our checks but the drinks were fine. The food was absolutely inedible. We raised our concerns with the staff explaining that we simply would not pay for food in such a condition, however we'd gladly tip our server and so on. An employee in the back could be heard saying "Oh they're gonna pay for their f** food." Highly unprofessional. They then threatened to call the cops on us. When we responded positively to the suggestion since we were not wrong, they backed down from such a threat. Finally, we were asked to leave. Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant and that was the worst treatment to service members(all of which were exceedingly polite despite the rudeness of the staff) I have EVER seen. Awesome breakfast! Large portions, huge pancakes and very well done. Price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The menu on Yelp does not reflect the actual menu which is much more expansive - too much to choose from. I was in town for a tennis tournament with my daughter and looking for an alternative to the expensive hotel breakfast. If you are in downtown Waco I highly recommend Cafe Cappuccino. Parking is good with a huge lot for the restaurant right next door. Crowded on a Sunday morning so be prepared to wait a few minutes. Lots of tables and staff. read more

I needed to use the ladies room and due to my second job, was dressed unlike any of the Baylor/Attorney attire and was denied bathroom access. I remember why I quit coming to this restaurant. I went in today after 1 p.m. and the restaurant was 1/2 full. There were 3 servers behind the counter and one of the servers was working the order system. She said someone would be with me in a minute. The other two girls stood behind the counter singing with the music and I realized another server was standing next to me talking to a young man who was obviously not a customer. I waited......then the girl quit putting in the order, turned her back on my and started talking to the other two girls. That's enough.....bye bye. Once we were seated, we gave our orders and didn't see our waitress again until she brought the check. It took almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The portions aren't big compared to the price. The pancake was squishy/soggy, and not fluffy at all. The cinnamon roll was flavorless. I expected much more for the $26 price for breakfast for two. Talk about bad service. Today was bad for our visit as well as the table next to us. The manager was told that the hot chocolate was not to someones liking and asked to get something else. The manager was not helpful he was hateful. The coffee was bad. Tasted watered down or the grounds had been used for more than once. what can you say about cafe capp other than its "just fine"? food tastes good, but it takes a special talent to screw up breakfast food. and that's just it, there's really nothing special on the menu. everything is your basic, generic breakfast/brunch dish, with the exception of their pancakes, which are above-average. the prices are high while the portions are not, and the service is hit or miss. but, there's something to be said for ambience and atmosphere, even if it solely comes from the brainwashed crowd that gathers to mindlessly worship their food. to that effect, it's a nice/cozy/fun place to grab an early meal with friends, especially during special occasions such as holidays and football weekends. read more

People were coming in at 1:20 and the hostess told them that it was too late to seat them even though they close at 2. We got there and 1 today and were told that we could not be seated. I used to go here quite often, but it has really gone downhill. The last time I was in I had an omelete and it was awful. The veggies were practically rotting. I am not one to send things back but I tried to see if I could get a new one and had the worst experience ever so needless to say the service is also pretty terrible. I have heard from former employees this is a terrible place to work and the owner is pretty shady. I think that is the reason for the terrible service - unhappy employees don't make for a great dining experience. It's really a shame because it does not have to be that way.
