We love this place and it's definitely become our favorite breakfast spot when we come to Waco! We're vegetarian and we're happy to share that they have a LOT of vegetarian options! Well, that's if you're egg-etarian. If you don't eat eggs, they still have options for you, just not as many. I LOVE their Eggs Florentine dish! So much so that I've eaten it every time we've been here. And I'm also happy to report that their coffee is delicious! Not all breakfast spots have both good food AND good coffee, so this is definitely a plus. The only downsides are as follows: 1. They are ALWAYS packed on the weekends! So expect to wait, even if it's just two of you. 2. The service hasn't been very great. I get that they're busy, but the staff shouldn't be so overloaded that they can't properly take care of their tables... However, the last time we were here I noticed that our server wasn't very attentive to us, yet she was VERY attentive to her other tables... Not cool. Had a delicious breakfast! Enjoyed an omelet that was loaded with spinach, bacon, cheddar cheese, bacon, and a dollop of guacamole on top. The guacamole was from a squeeze container vs freshly prepared...not sure I would pay extra for that next time. The omelette was served with salsa which was a great tasty bonus. I enjoyed the toasted croissant, My hubby had the home fried potatoes, crispy and well seasoned, and a delicious banana pancake. Food was great and really enjoyed my experience eating. However when we needed to take our grandson who is 2 months old to the bathroom to change a diaper we didn't find a baby changing table. Most visits have been excellent as far as food and table service. On the other hand, The QR code and impersonal and rude way you are told you won't be seated unless you scan in is not acceptable. Sometimes they are busy and we will just leave but this time they were not busy and when I expressed that can't you just remember that I am behind this one and only couple waiting the hostess seating didn't seem to have a problem but the person behind the counter very rudely told me that I wouldn't be seated unless I scanned the code. Her attitude was not professional at all. Neither of us had a phone but my son who had dropped us off and parked the car was coming to the door and he might have been able to help. But the person that was behind the counter made my hard of hearing better half decide there are plenty of restaurants elsewhere and we will take our business elsewhere. So that is exactly what we did. Had a very nice brunch, delicious and wonderful service down the road at Abuelita's. My $60 plus tip spent perfect there and was appreciated. read more

He was welcoming, funny, had great recommendations, and knew the menu well. Great worker. 10/10. The food is always sublime. The pancakes are a delicacy and the breakfast taco is an out of body experience. I love the home-y and inviting feel of this establishment due to the fact that genuinely every single worker is so over the top kind. Even the man who always brings me my food. While the food was good enough, mine was actually wrong. Or I thought it was wrong. I ordered the avocado toast. On the menu it lists it as having eggs, avocado, crushed red pepper, diced tomatoes and feta. When I got it, it had pico de gallo on it. No feta and no crushed red pepper. I assumed it was just wrong. After verifying on the menu, I told the hostess mine was wrong and her response was, "oh ok." When our waitress came back, I asked her about it and she said, "yeah I think they changed it and didn't fix the menu." I told her had I known that I would've ordered something different. She had no response. I guess when the menu is changed they just don't let anyone know and it's tough luck if you don't like it. Neither of the workers were helpful or offered anything to remedy the situation. We were also charged the full amount rather than them comping the item. Came here early on a Sunday (around 8:45 am) and were sat immediately. I've been to cafe cappuccinos before, it's a local Waco breakfast chain that is known for their food and not their service. However, this time we had the best of both. Their menu is pretty large, with lots of standard breakfast options. My friend is gluten free and was happy to see they offer gluten-free pancakes. One of the things I like about the menu is that all upcharges are clearly noted. Sure, customize your meal how you want it and be informed about what that will cost you. Baseline prices are pretty inexpensive so customizing your meal won't break the bank. On this visit, we had GF buttermilk & banana nut pancakes (she preferred the banana pecan one! They are fairly big too). We also had a vanilla almond latte with soy milk (only non dairy milk alternative), which had a nice nutty flavor. We had breakfast here this morning while visiting my brother and his family here in Waco. I've been to another location of this establishment on previous visits, but this is the closest to my brother's new house. I'm surprised by the low rating because my brother thinks it is the best breakfast in Waco and I think it is pretty darn good. This location is larger and more modern than the other location I've been to. We were seated promptly with no wait around 9am. They did try to sit us at a table for 4 when we were a party of 6, which was a bit frustrating. I think they just weren't counting the baby, but the baby actually makes a bigger table necessary as he wants to touch everything he can get his hands on so the bigger the table, the better, so we can keep everything out of reach. Anyway, my dad ordered a coffee which he said was top notch. My brother and I had chai lattes which were excellent. I love chai lattes and this one was well above average. For breakfast my brother had the eggs Benedict which he said is a perennial favorite of his. Our parents had the Belgian waffle which they were really impressed with because it was thick yet crispy. I had breakfast tacos with sausage, eggs, and hashbrowns with a really delicious salsa. There were two tacos and the breakfast was very filling and super reasonably priced for under $5. I've always gotten the banana French toast before and I highly recommend it, but wanted to try something different and savory this morning. My nephew had a chocolate chip pancake that was bigger than his head! It was huge. It was bigger than the plate. I took a bite and thought it was quite good as well. Overall, I really enjoyed our breakfast here and have enjoyed them at the other location as well. I definitely recommend for a delicious and reasonably priced breakfast. read more

I got the breakfast tacos that have your choice of meat, egg, hash brown and cheese. I received my tacos and the egg was nonexistent. I asked my server if this was all the egg I will get on my tacos. She then called the owner over, Dale, who proceeded to tell me they give one egg per taco. Looking at my taco you can tell it's not a full egg. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD!!! THE ONE STAR IS FOR THE HOT CHOCOLATE!! Went in this weekend with my niece and nephews who came down from Houston. My sister was also with us who wears a hijab. We walked in, and immediately felt the vibe of not being welcomed in. We stood in front of the entrance door for about 20 minutes, mind you, there is no one in front or behind us. They asked us "how many guest" about 4 to 6 times. The workers would walk by us, would look at us, and just walk off. It's like we didn't even exist. The last time he asked how many guest for the 6th time, I got annoyed and said, "Yep. Still 5 guest." We finally got our table and we sat there for another 50 minutes. We all order 1 chocolate chip pancake each. They brought out pumpkin spice pancakes which had us wait another 30 minutes. When we told the waitress about our incorrect order the manager came by and had an attitude stating they close at 2pm. We got our correct order at 1:50pm, boxed up our food to-go and went home. When we walked out, the front counter lady didn't even acknowledge 5 people walking out. It was a terrible hostile experience, I should've taken them somewhere else for spending $80. read more

Nice Cafe Style Restaurant that draws a lot of students from Baylor because of the quality of the food and the inexpensive cost involved. The food is almost always good and consistent among various visits. I was there yesterday after church and there was about a 30 minute wait. I asked for a cup of coffee to drink while I waited for my table. The hostess responded by saying she would have to charge me for a to-go coffee and to-go cup. I asked if I could just get a regular coffee cup and I would use it when seated. Answer was no. So the only way to get a cup of coffee while waiting is to buy a to-go coffee and then have to buy another coffee once seated. read more

I have been going to cafe Capp and loving the food, lattes, and prices for over 7 years now! I highly recommend the croissant breakfast sandwich or breakfast burrito. I went there this morning for brunch and unfortunately sat next to a disgruntled customer who was treating the staff poorly because her friends did not have the appropriate amount of cash needed to pay their bill. I was so impressed by the brave blonde server (she may have been the manager, I'm not sure) who very respectfully and kindly asked the customer to respect the young waitstaff and not speak poorly to them. As someone who has worked in the service industry I was so impressed by how that woman handled the situation and will be returning next time I'm in Waco! Kudos! read more

We just drove from McGregor because my last experience here was great. My husband is off today and I didn't want to cook. We walked in and the host said they would clean off a table so they could sit us, no problem at all, but then as we waited there were 3 servers behind the bar watching something on a phone, and one of them said table ten was complaining and ready to order. The server who was told that rolled her eyes and kept watching the phone. Then she finally walked by us to hopefully attend to her table but said "the guest still wasn't getting her coffee then." I may notice those types of comments more than others in restaurants because I've worked in them for 15 years. From experience, I know that's not a good sign that you'll get good customer service so we just left. Management should talk to their staff about making comments like those around guest at the front door. Not very welcoming at all. Do not eat here. The is an elderly lady that works there that is so rude! There mediocre food isn't worth it to be talked down to by a mean old lady. My family and I went in to eat on Saturday and because we didn't all walk in together she somehow blamed us that there was six of us.
