I can't imagine how sweet a regular one can be lol. So it is Christmas day and you just have to find a coffee shop that is open. We got lucky. This little coffee shop is right next door to Screen Door restaurant. Which by the way you do not want to miss. They were busy, buy the wait was not long. My cappuccino was very good. They have a really neat little sitting room off to the side as you enter the coffee house. The staff was very friendly and did a great job with our drinks. Will be back! read more

Hidden gem of a coffee shop! Tucked next to Screen Door on E Burnside, the front of this store is tiny and easy to miss. Head inside and you'll find incredibly creative drinks and a surprisingly large underground seating area that is retro-style and like a windowless casino where time ceases to pass (or flies by). Staff is super friendly while also taking their coffee seriously. This will definitely be a spot added to my cafe rotation as I'm excited to see the seasonal specials they come up with! read more

Walked in this afternoon expecting a tiny little grab-and-go spot, and boom--there's a whole cozy basement hideaway downstairs that feels like a secret clubhouse for chill vibes and great tunes. Super welcoming, relaxed, and somehow both stylish and unpretentious. The staff? Absolutely amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, and actually took the time to get to know me and help me pick drinks I'd love. (Spoiler: they nailed it.) I tried the Pineapple Orange Guava Matcha--subtle and refreshing like a tropical vacation in a cup. But the Banana Miso Latte? That one stole my heart. It's weird. It's wonderful. I was a bit confused to locate this place as the map on my iPhone still shows both Kopi and No Preference at the same location. A decent price, no extra charge for alternative milk, and various coffee/tea options. I also saw some pastries in the window. My oat milk latte was creamy, balanced, and tasty for sure. So I guess this place used to be Kopi coffee and a lot of people don't know they've changed name because they still have kopi sign up. Anyways someone recommended I try here so I finally did when I was going to screen door for brunch. Must say this latte was so amazing. I got the coconut lemongrass latte with coconut milk. Now while I didn't much taste the lemongrass the latte was still amazing. The coffee itself is such a good taste like idk what beans they're using but I loved it. And then the coconut cream was tasty and overall just a delicious latte. Not too sweet but still sweet enough. I will definitely be back to try their other flavors. It's so hard finding places where you taste the coffee and not just the flavor and it was so smooth. Looks like a chill place definitely bigger inside because there was more seating than I thought though I did take to go. read more

Y'all this place is a fucking treasure hiding in Kerns in a teeny, tiny building. It may not look like much, but do NOT get it twisted. Once you walk inside the seemingly small space, you discover that there is a sweet-ass BASEMENT with table and booth seating. To my astonishment, they had MULTIPLE vegan pastry options. They did not have cold drip iced coffee-I'm 100% enslaved to Cold Brew-however, I got an iced latte AND they made it correctly-with espresso and milk put in first and ice LAST. The end result was one hell of a tasty ass iced latte. I happen to be a coffee shop connoisseur, so I can say with certainty that the espresso was top quality crack. Also, the employees were wonderful; the owner, Bryce*, was particularly awesome. Lastly, the music they play is my motherfucking JAM-old school/indie rap/hip-hop, plenty of sweet 80's and 90's classics, and even some semi-recent pop hits. In sum, I'm THRILLED to discover a diamond within walking distance in my neighborhood. My final point is simple and fairly obvious: GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE A. S. A. F.
