Food was very good and fresh. Meat was a little on the dry side but that's not enough to stop me from coming back. Everything was very tasty I had 4 tacos, the pork, spicy pork, chicken, and a steak one was better than the next I was so full but kept going back for more! I've had Mexican food before. Once I took a bite out of the tacos I knew I'd become a regular customer. The staff is very friendly and attentive if I need anything. the place reminds me of some take out Chinese place that have a few tables and chairs jic you want to stay. i.e. not great for atmosphere. I ordered the spicy beef plate,and boy was it spicy. The quality of the beef was mediocre, but the dish was tasty. My husband can't handle spicy food so he order burger with Mushroom, but he got Burger with Cheese instead. Since dairy upset his stomach, but he was too hungry to get another burger, he "peeled" off the cheese and at the burger. He said the burger wasn't bad. We got a guacamole side and was charged $6.50 instead of $4.50. The waitress said the $4.50 side would have been a small little dish.,, whatever. Though the girl got our order wrong, and wasn't clear about the difference re guacamole, she was nice, and food came out pretty quickly. I will go back and try some other food on the menu. p.s. Very Happy!!! the only place I can find here in staten island and even NYC! for a really good Café Con Leche! The girls recognize me now. The food is delicious and you get a lot for the price. I really wanted to like this place and I am only giving it 2 stars because of the good prices and the quick delivery. I ordered the fuertas which were dry as a bone. My boyfriend ordered the enchiladas which were covered in the verde sauce with little flavor. The guacamole was runny which I've never seen before. The chicken nachos were also very dry. I am at Cafe Con Pan at least once a week. They serve the most delicious, authentic Mexican food in Staten Island! I love their tacos and especially the salsa verde. I highly recommend this place for their food. The customer service is also quite nice. read more

Cafe con leche is amazing. Very good but a bit pricey. Two cafe con leche large and a Gatorade was 8.50. The service was great but the cook was slow. I had to cancel my order because even after ten minutes my food was not even on the grill. read more

Me and my family have came here many and I mean many times and back then they have really good food everything was good and it will not take long to get food here but when I came in yesterday it was a nightmare we have ordered tacos me and my girlfriend I remember asking for 3 each and I end up getting two was no problem for me I didn't care but what I care how small they were they were a small and I mean small for a child like a 5 year old child and I never remember them being this small they had no taste didn't have enough meat it look like it was cook 3 days ago and just no taste at all and also had yellow rice and no flavor I it was just bad but I also had cooks they were selling I open them and started to eat them and my girlfriend told me something look wrong with those cooks and I spit them out and they had like black mold and I feel so sick and I look at the rest of them and they had black mold and I wanted to throw up I was spitting them up it was just black mold keep coming out and I told them about it and did nothing about it they just give me my dollar back didn't even get a sorry I am sorry to say I will not come back here read more

This restaurant is a hit or miss. Unfortunately, they have lost many customers as we order for a large staff. We have given them a lot of business over time but since the last incident we will no longer be placing orders with them. We placed an order for delivery which was about $120, and which took about an hour and a half to receive (we are just around the corner). We ordered 3 tortas, and the bread was hard as a rock. We removed the filling and had to throw away the bread as it was inedible. Since we were already past our hour lunch, we called up just to let the place know what had happened. Nobody wanted to speak to us and listen to our problem. Finally we spoke to a gentleman who told us we had 3 tortas on credit for the next time we call. Two weeks later we decided to place an order for the tortas we have on credit and the woman who we spoke to said we couldn't get our credit because there was no owner or manager around. She asked us to call back in three hours (3pm), when the owner/manager will be there. I then decided to go there in person and speak to someone as our lunch hour is between 1 and 2. No one claimed to take responsibility or honor the credit. It's not about the credit, it's about the principle. The woman called the owner/manager and said he will still be there at 3 o'clock to speak to me. They were just trying to beat around the bush and not take responsibility. I will not be ordering from them again and they have lost a valuable customer. We at our business will be ordering elsewhere for our lunch read more

The flan is the best in Staten Island. The Oreo cake slice prices are also very reasonable. The Mexican pastry buns are affordable too. It's a convenient location on the corner near train station. They also have pizza and breakfast but I did not try. Place is cash only. read more

I am giving this place a 4 because of their quick delivery. I usually go to Sunset Park to get their baked good . Now I suggest to the owner of this place that they modify their recipes to include spicy and non spicy. I love Mexican food but the food was way to spicy for me. I admit I should have asked more questions about the order- guacamole nachos, stuffed peppers and carnitas tacos, chorizo tacos. The tacos were very tasty and I ordered the smaller ones . My husband enjoyed the tacos and the guacamole nachos but I had to washed off the sauce from the stuffed peppers. It was way too spicy. I think lots if customers order this type of food for the kick of the spicy dishes. They do have a great selection in their menu... Give it a try but ask questions , practice your Spanish if you have to. The food is good but it would benefit from a modified menu with spicy being Optional. read more
