I decided to stop by a local coffee shop that uses Kaldi's Coffee beans, which I already love, so I was really excited to try it. I ordered a caramel and toffee nut iced latte, and it was super good. It wasn't overly sweet at all, which I appreciated, and the coffee itself was super smooth. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by who I assume was the owner, and she was so kind and was also genuinely excited that I came in. The service was also really quick, and she even had me try my drink before leaving just to make sure I liked it. They had a lot of other options too like ice cream, pastries, smoothies, and even bubble tea, but I stuck with my iced latte this time. There weren't a ton of syrup flavors, but they had all the classic options, which still worked for me. Great coffee shop downtown St Louis. I was here for a week at the Pennywell Hilton. Went every morning after tying it the first morning, and my order grew each day as the people I was traveling with wanted breakfast food and drinks. The owner is amazing. She remembered my drink order every day as it grew from 2-3-5 drinks by Wednesday. I highly recommend it and will miss her friendly greeting and great coffee, espresso, iced and hot mochas, muffins, breakfast croissants and bananas. read more

This is a small cafe right next to the federal reserve. It is perfect if you want something in between a full breakfast sit down meal and a coffee kiosk. The owner is likely from the Philippines as there were multiple references to it in the artwork. They also had medals from their martial arts. Adorable small cafe/coffee shop in downtown STL, you can instantly tell it's family owned and operated. The young man working at the counter was efficient and kind. He served up my drink and treats with a smile and was very sweet and patient helping a foreign elderly couple behind me get their desired breakfast sandwich. I went with a classic iced americano- decaf, which instantly hit the spot on a hot and humid Midwest day. In the bakery case they had some delicious looking sweet treats in the form of "bars" so of course I ordered a flight of all four to taste test. Here's my ranking- 1. Lemon Bar (if you like gooey and underbaked sweet things you'll love this, tart sharp lemon flavor but very very sweet) 2. Butter Cake (super rich and decadent, melts in your mouth but, be warned it's hard to take more than 2 bites of this at a time) 3. Classic Fudge Brownie (dense and thick with a deep rich chocolate flavor, could easily eat the whole piece) 4. We stayed nearby at the Athletic Club and this was the closest place to step out and get some breakfast. They had delicious freshly made sandwiches and coffee, as well as ice cream for later when it was 100 degrees. After a very hot morning walking for hours at gateway arch, my family, including our large dog, needed air conditioning, water, food and of course gooey butter cake. The service we received was so generous and kind- just what we needed! Our dog got relief from the heat and was greeted almost immediately with water and a pup cup. We didn't even have to ask. The owner (I'm assuming) is SO KIND!!!! We've gone the past three days and every day we have been greeted with the best energy, memorized orders (after just one visit!) and the kindest hospitality. I have yet to try their ice cream but their breakfast sandwiches are great. Their seasonal options are also quite interesting and they do offer rewards. I do wish they had lavender syrup though. Ordered an iced strawberry white chocolate latte with oat milk--the strawberry white chocolate latte was sweet, and the coffee was strong, but my one star off is because the strawberry tasted rather artificial. I wonder if the strawberry came from the powders behind the counter. Service was normal, ambiance was mostly quiet too. Some families and friends were there to buy the handmade ice cream. I got cheesecake which tasted like NY cheesecake with a little hint of lemon, my partner got s'mores which actually has little marshmallows mixed in. It was a very creamy texture, thick and not icy.
