    Avocado toast

Visited here from out of town, the food is overpriced, nothing too extraordinary to return. The coffee was not as strong it was very milky and tasted watered down, I could not taste the caramel flavor. The peach matcha was decent, refreshing. The space is small and cozy, the restrooms were clean, and customer service was good in general.

Came with a friend on a Saturday and was worried it would be too busy to find a table but we were able to find one right away and didn't have too long of a wait in the line. We got both drinks and food. I got the Apple grilled cheese and espresso tonic. The sandwich was soo good and the espresso tonic was so refreshing. The patio seating was nice. It's street parking and the patio has uneven bricks. Super cute though and would come again.

I've had this place on my list for a while and finally found myself in the area. They have great French toast and a wide drink menu. I loved the variety of seating options and the calm ambiance. The staff were all very friendly and patient while I was deciding what to get, and they offered helpful recommendations.

Decided to visit this little gem after doing some antique hunting on Cherokee...amazing! It begins with the coolest and coziest vibe in the dining room...old school walls, windows and floors. Cool bar area, highlighted by exposed brick to bring you back in time. Service is top notch, love the smiling, friendly and helpful staff. Fast as a flash even when busy. Coffee and concoctions are top notch. Wifey had the burrito, great smokey flavor, eggs prepared perfectly and fresh tortilla. Fantastic portion size...not too big or too small. I had the Apple and Brie grilled cheese; fresh grilled bread and a drizzle of honey. Would recommend getting some sort of side, as it's pretty small and found myself wanting more once finished. But oh so awesome. Can't wait to bring the rest of the family and any out-of-towner's who might visit. Heck, I'd just sit by the window, read a book and grab a cup of Joe...it's that kind of place. Run to this gem...don't walk and make it your morning or afternoon go-to!

    Avocado toast and cortado

Loved this place! Food came out very quick. The avocado toast was on a thick hearty slice of delicious bread and the bacon was crispy. My cortado was perfectly strong and served in the cutest glass. I'll be back.

I ordered the American breakfast with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, breakfast potatoes and toast with jam and lavender lemonade. The scrambled eggs were seasoned well. One of three strips of bacon was crispy. I think the potatoes were cooked in advance because the temperature of the potatoes didn't seem like they just came off the grill. The lavender lemonade seemed a little watered down and I couldn't really smell the lavender. The people behind the counter were very helpful and friendly. The vibe of the restaurant is friendly and a little eclectic. All street parking so don't pass up a spot when you get close to the restaurant.

Amazing hot chai. Flavors blended beautifully. And the sunny spot outside was perfect for watching the world go by!

The full French toast order came with 4 pieces. I only ate 2. I apologize this isn't the most aesthetically pleasing pic.

Okay, forgive me, but I ate before taking a picture. The brioche French toast was delicious topped with strawberries and maple syrup. I enjoyed a white chocolate latte to drink. This was a wonderful spot to meet up with a colleague on our breaks. The view from the dining room in the fall really *gives* Gilmore Girls. The staff were friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back!

Was a cute little place, this place is decorated so fun! Every wall has something to look at, including the bathroom! The bathroom had vintage board games decorating the walls. The energy in this place was hipster, in the best way! This place felt LGBT+ friendly and had very inclusive menu options! They had vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options! I had the breakfast burrito and the burrito was vegetarian and it had vegan chill in it! I think it could have used some more refreshing items in the burrito like pico or salsa. The plate came with a small side of pico but it wasn't liquidy enough. It also came with two pickles and I could tell they were pickled in house, they were amazing! I could have eaten a whole jar of those pickles! I also got the dank and stormy, which was cold brew mixed with ginger beer! It was an interesting combo, pretty unique. I wouldn't say it's for everyone but it was a fun experience trying it. The parking was all street parking. There was a step to get into the cafe and no ramp. They had plenty of seating, mostly tables for two, but they did have one larger table for 8. Also this place had a consistent line, there were so many people coming to this cafe! The staff was wonderful and friendly, the food came out fast considering how many people were ordering. Very cool and delicious place, I recommend checking this place out!

Very cute restaurants! One where you order and they will bring your order to the table of your choosing! We went on a random wed morning and were happy they were open. I ordered the mushroom and spinach hash with bacon (protein optional) and it was good and just enough food! The people were nice but like I said there's not like a set waiter and they have a self service station for condiments, napkins, etc! But I'm sure if you asked they would assist. I would deff return!

Another beautiful coffee shop to add to your list. I just moved to benton park and will 100% be frequenting mud house way too often. It offers a diverse array of guests. Some come to study, some come for a quick coffee, others for breakfast with community. A stunning interior is anchored by eclectic decor kissed with St. Louis swagger. Strong loyalty to St. Louis and its wonderful residents is prevalent throughout. The workers were all great. It is your typical coffee shop: many swaggy, stylish, bright humans working seamlessly to churn out delicious brews made with love. My latte was wonderful. As I drink more coffee I am getting better at identifying good from bad. Objectively, this latte was REALLY GOOD. Every pastry and breakfast dish looked superb as well.

Kind and courteous service. Fresh baked gingerbread tasted awesome! Valencia (chocolate orange) latte was perfectly balanced. The avocado toast and French toast were great. Appreciated the vegan almond Baileys with coffee -have never seen that! Great vibe and all dietary restrictions were accommodated!

Met some friends here for lunch. It was the 1st time for all of us to try this place out and we were pleased with the selection. I was worried that btwn the holiday and recent ice/snow we would have difficulty with parking but each of found a spot on the street without difficulty. You can order breakfast or lunch items. Several options sounded good but I narrowed down to the turkey avocado club. The sandwich also had bacon and tomato jam on it. Yum. A nice size too. I was excited to see that they had a horchata latte so I had to try that. It was delicious. My friends enjoyed their meals too (waffle, eggs and avocado toast). We didn't have to wait long for our food despite it being a somewhat small place.

Biscuits and gravy and avocado toast, both were amazing.

The staff is always friendly and helpful, the food comes out quickly, and the shaded patio is a great place to sit and enjoy your meal. The espresso shake was absolutely delicious, but the Lou Melt was the standout of my visit. The bread had the perfect crunch on the outside while staying soft on the inside, and unlike many steak burgers , it wasn't greasy at all. The French Dip was just okay. It could have used a bit more flavor, and I wish there had been more meat on the sandwich. The bread, however, was fresh, airy, and incredibly soft, which helped make it enjoyable. The Caesar salad was another highlight. The kale was massaged just enough to make it tender while still keeping a nice crunch, and every bite left me wanting more. The Greek salad wasn't quite as memorable. The dressing tasted mostly like oil with only a slight hint of vinegar, so it felt like it was missing the bold, tangy flavors I was expecting. I also ordered an iced vanilla latte, which was excellent. It was smooth, not overly sweet, and didn't have the bitter taste that some coffee drinks can have. Overall, Mokabe's offers a warm, inviting atmosphere, consistently friendly service, and a menu with several standout items. I was able to get off drugs and reconnect with my family as the result of eating a burrito. You can imagine my excitement, then, when it was announced that a group I run with was meeting at this Tower Grove South location. I wasn't crazy about getting up early the day after America's 250th birthday, and there was the slight possibility that I'd barf during my run around Tower Grove Park (people might think I was back on drugs), but I was willing to risk it for the, erm, burrito. Actually, it occurred to me that I might try something else, for the sake of citizen food journalism. Then my decision was made for me when I saw that they carry a bagel with lox. I've eaten literally a million bagels with lox, going back to the 1980s, but only either at home or at places that aren't very good, like Einstein Bros. Alas, I was informed that the bagel with lox was currently unavailable, because they were out of lox. Which struck me as odd, given that lox is not served fresh. It's not like they had to go pull it out of the water that morning or have it flown in from Alaska, packed in ice. Was there a run on the lox due to a nearby media-industry convention? Did they accidentally leave it sitting out overnight? I imagine that would smell crazy. I went with the Everything, which may have been the better choice anyway. Named after the famous bagel seasoning, it's essentially a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel with cream cheese and a tomato. But describing it that way doesn't really do it justice. You have to attempt to wrap your lips around it in order to truly appreciate it. No Diddy. It's the bagel-sandwich equivalent of their legendary burrito, and it might be just as good. The bacon and egg are perfectly cooked, with the egg just slightly underdone and the bacon nice and crisp but still with a little bit of chew. The helping of cream cheese is weirdly generous, to the point where just the cream cheese on a bagel would be a fairly substantial sandwich. The tomato, which was a little bit tart, made for a nice accent. It comes wrapped in one of those diapers they used to use on some of the bigger burgers at Hardee's, to keep it from falling apart the moment you try to bite into it. You'd still eat all the individual elements using your fingers, because you're a savage and because they're that good, but it wouldn't be the same. It's a testament to the thoughtfulness and the ingenuity of the kitchen staff at Upshot that they thought to do that.

It was made with Indonesian coffee and green Indonesian spices that gave it a unique color and appearance that reminded me a little of matcha. Definitely something different to try. I initially ordered bacon and eggs, but unfortunately they were out of bacon. What surprised me was that there really wasn't another side available to substitute for it, so I ended up choosing something completely different.
