I've visited this establishment multiple times and it is great food every time. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, even the coffee are all delicious. I struggle with the translation and still get great food with pointing at the menu and Google translate. The customer service is great. They are patient and friendly. A hidden Gem!!! Moved to the area and was looking for breakfast around noon. Decided to try it on a whim. Amazing!!! They were busy but that did not stop thengirl on the counter from making sure i got a table as soon as it opened and cleaned it for me. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and it basically came with two sandwiches!! All under $10! It was delicious. Fresh bread. The whole place smells amazing. They have frituras...which looked really good. Will try them next time. Very limited seating so make sure you are ok with waiting a little if you want to seat but most take it to go. Ordered two breakfast ham and cheese sandwiches... the worst two sandwiches I ever seen in my life. Ham on one side of the sandwich and cheese on the other rather being stacked on top of each other like a normal sandwich. One slice of poor quality school lunch deli meat mostly hard. Mostly bread was given to me and the natural juice isn't natural nor is it tasty. Waste of money waste of time and on top of that made me lady cry how bad the food was. As a Colombian food LOVER, this bakery is a hidden gem! I grew up in South Florida, where there was Colombian food at every corner. It's been hard to find that same energy here in Orlando, but La Abundancia has been able to sooth that crazy itch I needed scratched. The space is located in a random, smaller shopping center. Sometimes parking can be an issue during the lunch hours, but i've never ~not~ been able to find a spot. It's just a tighter lot so it requires some maneuvering. The parking lot is a foreshadow to the actual restaurant, since the restaurant itself is quite small. During the lunch rush, its not rare to see a lot of people eating/ordering/standing in line within the small space. Because of this, i'll usually call my order in ahead of time to avoid all the bodies in that smaller area. The bakery here is divine & the empanadas are delicious. All of them! I usually variate between the chicken & meat. I also NEVER forget to ask for my aji, since they make it so dang good. During my lunch breaks, I often call them for their daily special since it really has an amazing bang for your buck. My favorite special they carry is their Lentil soup. I've been eating from here for the past 5 years and have always loved it, until 3 days ago when I ordered my usual (breaded chicken) and found two hairs in it. So this is a tiny little place in a non descript strip mall. It would be so easy to pass by, but do your taste buds a favor and stay. Because this place is nothing about the atmosphere and 100 percent about the food! When you find an ethnic restaurant filled with people from that culture, you know you are on to something. Quick stop to get small snack while shopping. It's a very small place and they seemed to be really busy with take outs. It's smelled wonderful inside like fresh baked bread. I order a stuffed potato and a meat empanada. But we're incredibly greasy. Very bland for both and the empanada was chicken not beef. I was the only person at the counter and it took a bit to get the attention of the 3 ladies at the counter talking. No sauces were offered or displayed. I hope the other menu items are better. There is minimal seating. A few inside tables and two outside. I chose to sit in my car cause most of the tables were not clean but empty. It's 12:45 ... anyways I would try another menu item and skip the empanadas and the stuffed potato. I have it two stars because it's cheap it was about $7 for the two items and a bottle of water. This was her second visit to LA Abundances bakery. We have been there for both breakfast and lunch. Each visit we were extremely impressed with the food and the service. For lunch we had the whole fried fish and it was spot-on. For breakfast we had the Huevos con Chorizo and Desayuno Montanero. Both the breakfast and lunch were very good and portion size was perfect and very reasonably priced. We also had some type of role that was soft and buttery inside and it was delicious I wish I remember the name but we will definitely have it when we return again. The buns are perfect to snack on while you're waiting for your food to be delivered. We also had a large hot chocolate drink that was very tasty and from our vantage point where we were sitting we could see the staff preparing freshly ground coffee that also looked very tasty. There was always a steady stream of customers coming in to pick up food and take home as well as patrons dinning in. With such a plethora of restaurants in the area it's unusual for us to return to someplace so soon, but we are already planning on returning to try other menu items. read more

Okayーto start off this review on a good foot, let's talk how you might come here for pastries of all sorts, or an extravagant lunch. If you visit this restaurant, you might notice that speaking Spanish truly comes in handy, but is not required (as there is usually an English-speaking young man working). First and foremost, this place is not just a bakery. Yes, their baked goods are amazing, but they have lots more. A number of years ago when I first started dating my girlfriend, I had never had Colombian food before. On one of her first times visiting me at home she spotted La Abundancia Bakery, not even a mile from where I live. For some silly reason she wanted me to experience some of her culture and suggested we check them out. We went together and she picked a few of her favorite Colombian items for us to try. I loved them all. Now, unfortunately I can never remember the name of anything other than empanadas, arepas, and chicharrón, which is a funny looking strip of fried pork rinds. You'll get chewy, fatty bits and crunchy, meaty bits. Different textures, but all delicious. It's very easy to eat an entire chicharrón but it's so oily that I would suggest saving half and getting a bread item with it. If you're a fan of blood sausage, theirs is apparently pretty good. I however, am not a fan. Perhaps I will try it again someday, but on my first tasting it just wasn't for me. Some of their other sausages though I was quite fond of. Now, remember how I mentioned I didn't really know the names of anything? The people there are extremely friendly and extremely helpful. Sometimes I just point and ask what's in a particular item and other times I will ask which is the one with ---fill in the blank---. They always humor me and help out. From large, hallowed out loaves of bread with cheese in the center to small loaves stuffed with ham and cheese, there's a great selection of baked goods. One of the breads even has cheese mixed into the dough itself, so while you'll never find any cheese, the taste is there, unmistakable. Yummmmm. What's messed up is that I've only done pickup and have never eaten on-site. I hope to rectify this sometime, because along with everything I mentioned, they have a full sit down menu. Why we've been to other Colombian restaurants for sit down meals and not this place is beyond me. Maybe it's a case of being a little too conveniently close. Some day I'll pretend I live across town and go have a real meal there. Until then, the meats and breads are awesome placeholders. NOTE: Currently the address shows Orlando and 32807 as the zip. I ordered "grilled" chicken with rice and beans and maduros takeout. They forgot the rice. The chicken was not grilled and was the blandest thing I have ever tasted next to the beans. The beans had no flavor whatsoever. The only thing that was fine was the maduros or sweet plantains. But you can't really mess that up. I won't be coming here again anytime soon. read more

I used to come here at 1-2x/week... A great mom and pop shop. Not sure what happened but the food quality has gone down significantly. The last few times I was there, I was served grilled chicken breast that was still raw on the inside and another time had a lunch meal that was so salty. The soup special is cheap and wonderful it comes with salad and avocado, plantains as good as Grandma used to make and rice. They have several steak meals at or around ten dollars, and giant fried potato balls. They make their own hot sauce, and have Columbian sodas.
