[[HIGHLIGHT]]This was a beautiful spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner is delightful. I had a pasta dish with a creme sauce. If I were to make a critique, it would be about a third less crème. We ordered seafood mix, and a beef Asian fusion dish. We had an appetizer with calamari. Do not leave without trying a piece of tres lèche cake.

An impromptu trip to Peru is absolutely within reach, and shockingly affordable! We had a last minute opportunity to go out for dinner and decided to make a reservation for Cafe de Martin because they had availability for our semi "early bird" time slot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We chose to dine on their colorful outdoor terrace, and when I tell you that we were transported to another country.... I mean, it literally took us out of Tally and dropped us in a tropical paradise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]As the sun went down, the lights began to glow. The ambiance was surreal. I repeatedly told my husband I felt thousands of miles away from home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Was it the cafe lights or the Sangria? I can't be sure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The live music began and it was a whole vibe. Heads turned, ears perked up, and an entire terrace just exhaled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The sultry atmosphere was only overshadowed by the savory food. Dear Lord we ate far too much. What is that saying? Ask forgiveness not permission. Sounds about right. We started with cocktails and Fried Yucca. The Jamaican Margarita was a perfect blend with a sweet sugared rim. The Sangria was a full party in the glass with fresh fruit. The Yucca portion was hefty, but we ate it ALL. In hindsight, we should have saved more room for our actual meal. We ordered Lomo Saltado Beef that was so tender and rich, and it was accompanied by another hefty portion of indulgent carbs. See? That's where moderation in our starter would have been wise. Ahh lessons learned. If we had saved half of the Yucca for leftovers it would have reheated in an air fryer beautifully. We also ordered the Escabeche which was a beautifully fried , snapper filet served with sweet potato and rice. The sauce was simple and elegant with that classic tart vinegar bite. We looked at the dessert menu. I repeat, looked. We simply had no more room. We'll be back soon and promise to make it to the dessert menu and coffee.

Fantastic food- great waiter(Cristian)- true Peruvian food! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the outdoor patio area and the inside is very nice too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thanks for a great dinner!

This trip did not start out well. My wife ordered tea and I ordered water and they told me that they do not have tap water. I asked how do they make the tea, how do they wash the dishes? She, defiantly, said we don't have tap water. We should have left at that point. We ordered salads and the salad part was great but, as you can see from the attached picture, the chicken fingers, that I ordered, are not chicken fingers at all. They are chicken patties cut up to look like chicken fingers. It tasted like it Tyson frozen chicken patty. We will not be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of the place was super cute and well put together. Ambiance is perfect for a date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was honestly one of the best overall meals I've had in Tallahassee with all things considered. But, and it is a big one, the service here was pretty bad. The staff weren't rude or anything, but when we were seated no server returned to the table for over 15 minutes. We were literally greeted by the owner (really nice dude) and still no waiter. Eventually a random server came up and asked if anyone had already taken care of us, and she took down our order. The food also took a while to come out, but I didn't mind that as much since the food was so good. The only flaw to this place is the mid service but if they lock that in it'll be an easy 5/5 rating.

Aaarrrrgg. I come here a lot and the service seems to be slipping. The fish sandwich (which I chose when I sent back my other sandwich) was not as spectacular as it once was. I don't know if they changed fish or what. This visit was atrocious. I don't think an experienced person was in the kitchen on this visit and certainly not an experienced server. I returned another time for dinner. The fried yucca was good and the spring rolls were on point. However, both owners were there. Our service was great.

Just recently heard about this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. My daughter and I decided to have lunch there. It took a minute for someone to notice us when we got in. Love the decor, especially the outdoor area. Very colorful/lively. It was a nice day, and we initially requested outdoor seating. However, because our table wasn't one with an umbrella, it became very warm, very quickly and we then requested an inside table. In hindsight, we should have stayed outside in that it took an extremely long time for someone to come to take our order once we moved inside and was seated. And once the order was taken, it also took a while for the food to be served. Of note, we noticed that a gentleman who was seated next to us about 30 minutes after we had been there, received his order within ten minutes and way BEFORE we received our order! For starters, we ordered the veggie rolls, which were delish! My daughter had an expresso, which she said was very good. She also ordered a mimosa. She had the beef dish and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Chicken Pesto sandwich with sweet potato fries; however, the order was served with regular fries. When I mentioned the mix up, my order was taken and brought back with the sweet potato fries - all six or seven fries! The chicken tasted a bit bland. Definitely not worth the money I spent on this particular order. We both had salads with our meals. Still, we didn't want to leave without sampling some of the desserts - dulce de leche cookies and crema volteada (flan). I may return to sample other items on the menu. If so, I hope to encounter better service next time!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Delicious food, delightful service, and a wonderful patio ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cafe de Martin welcomes you in hungry and intrigued then sends you out with a full belly and contented heart. While they don't take special requests, go ahead and try. The meals are a gastronomic pleasure! A must try for Peruvian cuisine. Be sure to ask for Aurellis. She and her team will keep you smiling and well cared for!

    Ribs and fired yuca

[[HIGHLIGHT]]My husband and I went here for lunch and sat outside on the beautiful patio enjoying the weather and some drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered a number of food items but the one that really stood out for us was the rib appetizer that comes with yuca fries. Absolutely delicious! Our waiter was awesome as well! Definitely one of our favorite spots. Can't wait to try the dinner menu!

This was a very busy restaurant. It's perfect while traveling through. We were in there from start to finish for an hour and a half. So if you are in a hurry. I wouldn't suggest eating here. If you have the time, this is a very good restaurant. Everything was fresh, just extremely busy. It's kind of noisy inside and out but they had live music outside which was nice for Father's Day. We both ordered the ceviche. It was fresh and good. I wasn't use to having large pieces of fish. I didn't eat the fish hardly. My husband liked his. I would order something different next time. Food was fresh and tasty. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of our food but it was 50 minutes before our food came to the table.

This dining experience was fantastic! Visited Tallahassee with a friend for her graduation, and nobody in the party had ever had Peruvian food, but this is the place she chose for her graduation meal and I'm so glad she did! A quick ride from the university, with plenty of off street parking, a small and quaint dining room with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and were taken care of by Daniela and Christian, who were both incredibly attentive and very friendly....GREAT service!!! We ordered a carafe each of mimosas and sangria for the table, and although I didn't partake, I heard that the fruit in the sangria packed a strong punch. I think everyone enjoyed their meals, but I absolutely loved mine!!It was the best thing I ate while I was in Tallahassee and I'm so glad I read all of the five star reviews about it that particular dish before hand I ordered the Pasta Huancaina with Lomo Saltado and substituted the steak for chicken, and it was absolutely delicious! It was a large portion, and I took the rest of it home and had it for dinner. I also had a taste of the passionfruit cheesecake and the peanut butter cheesecake, and the passionfruit cheesecake was so good. I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter desserts and I thought it was a little hard for cheesecake. This is a place. I would definitely return to, just to have that dish again!

Loved the cocktails. And the food was even better. A live mariachi band came out to the patio area which was beautifully decorated!

We ordered the guacamole dip thinking it was the one on the menu, for $4.99, but it ended up being the $8.99 bowl that we could not find on the extensive menu. I had Ñoquis Gratinados with steak. it was good, the steak was okay, but would have preferred all the cuts of meat be the same size, and bite sized. Spouse had the Churrasco a lo Pobre, a taco, and a tamale. The taco was good. The tamale, although large in size did not have much pork in it. The meat on the churrasco a lo pobre plate was really tough, unless you really like to chew, and chew, and chew, think twice about ordering the churrasco a lo pobre plate. If you do order it, bring your dental floss. Although we spoke to the waiter about the tough meat, and the waiter admitted he tried cutting the meat and it was tough. After that, there was no attempt to replace the meat with a more tender piece nor was my spouse asked if he wanted to try a different dish. When paying for the meal, there was no discount offered for the tough meat on the plate. The eggs on the plate were also kind of over cooked and brown and crispy around the edges. Customer service is lacking. Unfortunately for the restaurant, we will not be patrons.

The place has an indoor bar with seating, just outside of that is some covered porch seating, and beyond that is a huge patio on artificial grass with a bunch of tables and lounge seating. The bar has a menu ful of tropical adult beverages and cuban food favs. Their food menu includes: wings, churrasco, parrilla, salads, steak, empanadas, fried queso cubes, croquetas, yuca, street corn wraps, burgers, sandwiches and plantains. I came here at night and I had to pay a $10 cover charge to get in and all I wanted to do was eat. They had a DJ pumping hits, but I did not see why a cover charge was needed. This place was empty. The bar has a lot of security floating around and I had to get patted down before I entered which I took as a sign of prior issues. The staff there was friendly. It was a nice night so I sat out on the patio. They have a full bar with an exquisite menu that includes signature cocktails, mimosa, mojitos, and daiquiris. Of course I had to try some. I had the Son of a Biche and a Miami Mojito. They were bot great and I would definitely recommend them. The menu is full of tasty fufu drinks though and you probably could not go wrong. I ordered the churrasco with chimichurri sauce. I got a side of fries, fried yuca and sweet plantains. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my food. I really liked the steak it was perfectly seasoned and flavorful. The plantains were not the best that I have had, but they were good. Fries are fries. It is hard to mess them up. The yuca was good. I do not normally eat yuka, but I ate all of those. This spot is very colorful and bright and has a lot stuff going on. Probably a bit too much for me. It was like a club like atmosphere, but with a few people. I would probably recommend coming to this place for lunch unless you are into the club vibe.
