Everyone knows that pizzerias are a dime a dozen here on Long Island, but Cafe Gino's truly stands out amongst the rest. First of all, the food is amazing (that's really why you're reading this review, isn't it?). Everything I've ordered at Gino's has been fantastic, from the pizza to the entrees to the chicken rolls. And let me tell you, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET A CHICKEN ROLL. You will devour it, and then probably order another one for the road. The decor is beautiful, and there is plenty of room to kick back and enjoy your meal while watching some TV. Maybe even enjoy a little espresso when you're done. The staff is also very attentive and friendly to deal with (and quite attractive if I must say so myself!). This is my new go to pizza place on Long Island. Whenever I am visiting from California, I like to get some New York pizza, and I have most often Gone to Little Vincent's in Huntington. As I am staying in Westbury this time I decided to try something new, and this place came up with really good reviews. I've been going to Gino's for years, even when they were at thier different location down the block years ago. Great pizza, great pasta, great appetizers too and the staff is always friendly! One of my favorite things to get from Gino's is their Rainbow Ice, which I've been getting from their since I was a little kid. Gino's is a staple pizzeria in Westbury and I'm not sure why they have so many negative reviews! 10/10 suggest you try it for yourself & I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

I've been coming to Gino's for years. Honestly I find their pizza to be just ok. Only pass by when I'm near. Found some of their pasta dishes to be a bit bland. Service is pretty quick and the staff is friendly. Atmosphere is pretty nice. Plenty of seats. If your in the area and in the mood for some Italian, I would say to give it a try. read more

I started going to Gino's because they closed the pizza place down the street and I had nowhere else to go. I kept going back because the pizza is delicious. Unfortunately, they do not deliver. However, their arugula and prosciutto pizza is so good, that I can finish the whole pie myself. Even better, they will make any pie a "personal" pie. My fiance always gets the buffalo chicken pizza, and loves it. I can't speak to the other entrees, as we usually stick with pizza. My friend and I were going to a show at the Space, Gino's was close and had a good rating. We arrived at 6:20 for a 6:30 reservation and were seated promptly. But after waiting 20 minutes with NO service I went to the pizzeria side and asked the manager/owner for assistance. He replied in a nasty tone "hey buddy can't you see we're busy the waitress will get to you soon!" She finally took our order at 6:55 we ordered appetizers, main course and 2 soda's. I had to ask a passing busboy for bread and water. By 7:15 the appetizers came and the order was wrong, my friend canceled his dinner order. My main course came at 7:30, show started at 8:00. I ate a few bites and had it wrapped. The food was decent but the service sucked...I'll never go there again!!! We would have been better off just ordering from the pizzeria side read more

Bought a $5 slice and it was inedible. Not sure I ever met a slice I couldn't finish before. Didn't have time to go looking for a different lunch option, so got a $4 Margarita slice and it was also sad, but edible. I won't be back, unless someone tells me there's been a change of ownership, management or ingredients used. Had another delicious dinner here at Café Gino's complements of a Christmas gift cert from my mom! Ialways liked the ambience here, they did a nice job with the renovation, really comfortable seating, Italian music playing overhead,nice lighting, although was a lil bright for my liking but I digress,old pictures of the neighborhood hanging throughout were a nice touch , Service is always great here, they treat you w professionalismqre very friendly & offer thier undivided attention ,tonight was no exception,So,we started off with the fried calamari which was very good, all rings,perfectly fried with delicious homemade marinara, next up was a side order of meatballs, they were good but not great surprisingly,a little rubbery and I think I'm just used to my grandmothers style, she always used the 3 meats(chopped meat, pork,veal) I could tell these were just beef only which is standard for most restaurants, for dinner my wife and I had the shrimp francese & i had the much talked about penne alla vodka w grilled chicken, both great portions and very tasty! By this time we were both full but had to go with 2 of the delicious bindi desserts, because after all there's always room for dessert right?Lol i went w the amarena vanilla & cherry gelato with real Amarena cherries on top!it was outstanding! Nice presentation and just so tasty!she went w the hazelnut chocolate gelato with chocolate drizzle ,i had some and whatever like more but next thing I knew it was devoured! Expensive as Manhattan... uncaring counter help ... comically small slices of pizza? I can certainly deal with that. But Gino's food is some of the most jejune, bland, flavorless Italian fare I've ever had - there's not a real standout dish offered here, and boy, will you pay for it. A couple of slices and a soft drink here can set you back more than eight dollars. Sure, if it's good - but even Subway's mock pizza sold down the block is better than this stuff, thrown at you like the morning paper by counter help that openly doesn't care that you walked in the door. Post Avenue in Westbury has become legendary by Nassau County residents for its crappy delis and restaurants and dirty bodegas. In that light, Cafe Gino's fits right in perfectly. In a county with such standouts as Umberto's, Valentino's, and Anthony's Coal Fired, Cafe Gino is like a parody of a real Italian restaurant. read more

Average quality food that's hardly "Italian" (unless you frequent strip mall restaurants regularly) is accompanied by friendly service and decor and furniture that were likely selected from a 1992 pizza restaurant catalog. The bread sticks at Olive Garden have more flavor but at least the beer was cold, although don't ask for a beer mug. They serve it in wine glasses! Cafe Gino's is great to grab a quick slice or to sit down and eat a whole meal. The interior is spacious, very clean, and warmly decorated. The service is cheerful and attentive. Dinner starts with a hot (like burn your hands hot) basket of dinner rolls that are delicious. There's something about their bread/dough at Gino's that's irresistible and addictive. Speaking of dough, their pizza is great. The personal "pizzettes" are actually big enough for 2 people in my opinion. I ordered your standard margherita but with extra cheese and garlic. Notable features: the crust is thin, the cheese is fresh mozzarella and they drizzle olive oil on top. Also, order the lemon pomegranate ice (it comes in an actual lemon shell) for $3.50. Fresh and sweet, it's a great end of meal palate cleanser. If you need to stay awake, get their cappuccino which has like 1.5 inches of delicious foam on top. I have been getting my half sausage take out pies their for years and have never been disappointed. I ordered a pie there once and was late picking it up by about an hour. I made a Yelp just to review this place. This is the most expensive mediocre restaurant I have ever been to. Why is it 25 dollars for a regular cheese pizza?? My margerita pizza tasted like someone dumped a can of tomato sauce on a piece of bread and added tasteless cheese. Oh and dont forget the random olive oil dashed on the pizza as well. read more

We have been going here since moving to Westbury last summer. We have been there for lunch, dinner and had them cater a party of 30-40 people and the food has always been fresh, tasty and never any complaints. It's a nice homey seating area and the staff is very friendly. It's one of the better Italian eateries in the area without a doubt. read more

We get take out from Cafe Gino's all the time (I won't say how much, but it's embarassing). Their pizza is delicious - my favorite is pepperoni & meatball, the Panini Classico is delicious (grilled chicken, fresh mozz, roasted red peppers and balsamic vinegar), and any pasta or entree I've ever had from there is great too. We can always count on Gino's for a good meal. And we never get sick of it! In fact, I just polished off a Penne with grilled chicken and garlic/wine. De-lish. The staff is always friendly and quick to serve, from the guys behind the counter, to the wait staff, and the owner. Their sauce is really good, and I'm pretty picky about it (nothing's as good as my mom's). The only thing I'm not wild about is their garlic sticks, but my bf loves 'em. I really love an old fashioned gooey garlic knot, and the sticks just don't cut the mustard for me. But that's ok, there's plenty of other stuff to choose from. Whether you grab a slice and go, or sit down and have table service for your meal, you're sure to walk (waddle) away satisfied. You can park in front on Post Avenue, or, there's a bigger parking in the back, where you can park and enter Gino's through the back door under a little awning. read more

Easily some of the best pizza in Nassau County, if not the whole Island. Not greasy at all; excellent sauce; perfect crust (never burnt, perfect balance of crunchy outside/soft inside).
