I think I'm officially done with this place. It's always a 50/50 shot of getting a good pie or even the right order. The guy on the phone made me repeat what I wanted 3-4 times. It was a simple order: half with light cheese and extra sauce, and half regular. When the pie came out, even my friend said it couldn't be ours; it looked like half extra cheese and light sauce, and half regular. I didn't enjoy it at all! I even asked the employee in the front if this was correct, and he lied straight to my face he knew that they messed up. To top it off, he gave me a 4 oz cup of marinara sauce on the side meant for chicken rolls like he was doing me a favor Next time, don't be cheap--just remake the mistake you made. read more

The new ownership claims the recipes are all the same from the previous ownership, but one bite of their cheese pizza, to anyone who grew up eating DiMaggios Pizza, immediately makes it obvious that SOMETHING is different. Maybe they're using a different oil to rub on the dough to get the sesame seeds to stick to it, or the dough itself is made slightly differently, but its just not the same. It's new ownership so it's honestly fine if they've incorporated their own way of doing things, but just admit it. I've been going to DiMaggio's for as long as I've been eating pizza, so when I come in (I'm not local anymore, so less frequently now), the goal is always consistency for nostalgias sake. ANY change at all immediately ruins that, even if they think it's an improvement. I can't even say it's a bad slice of pizza, because it's pretty great. But it is NOT the charming hole in the wall it used to be. Now the new ownership cares about trying to being a Billy Joel shrine, which is just NOT the vibe anyone cares about when going to their childhood pizza place. Just put things back the way they were, that's all anyone going to DiMaggios wants. If they were gonna change stuff, they should've changed the name too. If you want it to be your own thing, then commit to that. But if you're going to claim all the recipes/ingredients are original to the original owners, then you better get one of the previous cooks to come and do a review with your current cooks, because, again, SOMETHING is different. read more

Terrible place...sent us two old and wet on the bottom large pies. Called next day and guy pretending to be a manager, offered me something for the mistake. Called again to give them another try and the owner refused to honor the exact words of his so called manager. Then explained to me that it was his driver who I was talking to. With one person in the group having never eaten a real slice of NY pizza, we were hoping this place would live up to the hype. Fortunately, the pizza here really is delicious and offers that classic NY flavor we were hoping to find. Di Maggio's is a small pizzeria but that doesn't stop the folks here from serving up a tasty slice of neapolitan or sicilian. Among the 3 pizza-eaters in the group, we ordered a plain slice, sicilian slice and bbq chicken slice. My wife claims it was the best bbq chicken pizza she had! Meanwhile, the pizza-newbie LOVED his plain slice. I also really enjoyed my slice of sicilian. It was doughy with just the right amount of crunch and had a great sweet flavor between the sauce, cheese and crust. Yum! Otherwise, Di Maggio's really is your traditional Long Island pizzeria. I am so disgusted with the customer service I received while trying to put in an order for my office. and Once I finally got the order placed after 10 minutes of trying to give the information I was informed that the delivery person could not come to this building. I asked to speak to a manager to find out the reason because if it was legitimate I would have picked it up but I received no reason except that he just could not come to this building. My all time favorite pizza place . One of only 2 pizza places I ever go to. It's a small place so you aren't having a dining experience but who cares . The pizza is the best. This used to be my go-to pizza spot! Sad I don't live closer to this place. They have the most delicious pizza, the crust is not too thin and not too thick, simply perfect!! Their specialty is their sesame seed crust! Such a simple addition but it really does amplify the entire pie! You don't have to order anything special, the pizza is just made that way. Can't believe there aren't more reviews for this place but this spot is a must. Take out and delivery is great here. It is definitely a small spot, only 4 booths in the inside so it's hard to eat there but the food is stellar. If you haven't ordered pizza from here do so immediately! The pizza is best right out of the oven and of course the full pie is the way to go when ordering but you can also order by the slice here. It's hard to imagine that such a small place packs so much love into their food. "Di Maggio's Pizzeria" exemplifies what good pizza is all about. I came here to grab a slice, or two, before the game. It was a well lit place so it attracted me like a moth to a street light. They had outside seating which was a nice touch, I almost felt like I was in Brooklyn again. Going in the place was small, but very nice. They went for a modern look and it fit the area. A very well to do spot. They had a great staff working but I had the privilege of talking to the owner. What a wonderful man. Very friendly and he loved his business and more importantly the food. I can't lie I was nervous. I asked for a Buffalo Slice and they got a regular slice. They slapped a ton of chicken on it, some buffalo sauce and tossed it into the oven, the blue cheese was free of charge; nice! Then I got a bacon chicken ranch slice, that slice looked serious. The lady that served me was great too by the way, just wanted to say that because I enjoyed the staff there. But the important things about Yelp is the food. Did it taste good? Was it hot? How did the buffalo slice turn out? Yes, Yes, and amazing are my answers respectively! Those slice were amazing. There's a place in Suffolk County I frequent a lot because the pizza is outstanding. I must say "Di Maggio's is right up there. I couldn't believe how good that buffalo slice was! Will I be back? In a New York minute! I strongly recommend this place. Picture this scene....You walk into a new pizza place you've never tried before. First impressions are it's a bit old fashioned and no frills but sometimes some of the best joints usually are. You think to yourself... "this place has potential." There's only one other customer inside and he just began eating his lunch. You walk up to the counter and place your order for pepperoni pizza and then you take a seat and begin to fiddle with your phone. You loose track of time and the other customer is now giving you strange looks as he clears off the remnants of his devoured lunch. No one has approached the counter for quite some time yet you hear chatter in the back room from afar. You begin to wonder "How long have I been sitting here?" and just as the thought crossed your mind the other customer exclaims "I think they forgot about you" just as he walks out the door. You promptly stand and march towards the counter with conviction as your hunger grows stronger. The employee gives you a wave as you can suddenly see in his eyes that he realizes that he just burned your pizza. He apologized and threw a new one in the oven this time he stayed up front likely so he would not be distracted a second time. This time the pizza was pulled out of the oven promptly and it was on the house since the first one burned. A very nice gesture indeed. Once I actually tasted it I must say it was pretty good. It was sesame crust but a lot of the sesame had fallen off but enough was still prevalent for me to get the flavor. The sauce is on the sweet side. The cheese and pepperoni are both tasty. It's quite oily however. You can tell by the amount of oil on the plate in the pic and I hadn't even folded it yet. Is it worth driving to? Probably not, but it's still a solid spot for a slice overall. Just be sure to make your presence unforgettable. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE We work at a local hospital and we ordered delivery from this RUDE small "pizza parlor".... The delivery guy called to say he was "nearby" we asked him to come up to floor, (we were busy) he gave us a nasty attitude about bringing the order to our unit and NO he cannot come up, but to meet us in the lobby (NO OTHER delivery place gives us a problem; DiMaggios claim they cant find parking, every OTHER delivery person parks without a problem and delivers the food to units) so a Nurse went down to meet the ORNERY delivery person and he was NO WHERE to be found; we called the restaurant and was YELLED at.. They claim the driver received a ticket so he left; we were then told they are NOT EVER DELIVERING to us again and then was hung up on....NO PROBLEM we wouldn't order from this unprofessional RUDE "pizza parlor" again.
