Solid 3.5 - had the pizza and chicken parm, the chicken parm was prepared perfectly. Could've used a tad more flavor. The fry, sauce, cheese ratio was the parm was an easy 4/5. The pizza is good. The crust could be a bit more firm how I prefer. Highly recommend the chicken parm. We ordered catering from here twice in the last few months and I can't stop hearing from all of our guests how much they enjoyed everything. I spoke to the same woman on the phone each time to place the order. I'm sorry I don't remember her name, but she made ordering painless and was so helpful. Each time we ordered 8 pizzas and a 4 foot hero half Italian half grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers. Each time the sandwiches were gone in minutes and all our guests couldn't stop complimenting the quality and taste of the food. The pizza was exceptional as well and the least expensive in the area. Be warned this review is coming from an OKIE! I was on Long Island for work and my co workers wanted some NY pizza. Mario's was up the road from our hotel so we popped in. I understand there is a large chain of these but it didn't feel like a chain when we went in. Personally I like that. I was happy to see this is a walk up order kind of spot. Makes me feel like I'm getting a true NY experience! I also LOVE how big the slices of pie are! Again, makes me feel like I'm getting a NY experience! I had a slice of the buffalo chicken pizza and my goodness I wanted to get up and two step in the isles! Also, I am not one to dance, but this stuff make me want to! The crust was amazing and crunchy and the buffalo chicken was all over. There was a LOT of it! Though the restaurant was busy the staff were all super friendly and I saw them field a lot of questions from patrons asking about different types of pizza and what was on them. If I get back to Long Island and am close to one of these, I'll be sure to pop back in and try some of the other delectable looking options they have! read more

Solid pizza place in a small strip mall. All sorts of slices and other food, as well. They are definitely practicing social distancing. Tons of tables and chairs roped off but still quite a few available to sit at, including booths. They bring everything to your table if you're dining in and they also clean up once you leave so the next group to sit has a clean table. Staff is friendly, prices are typical for the area. My kids love the pizza here I thinks is pretty good too. When we go I always ask them to please make the pizza warm for the kids. It's less messy and not too hot for the kids. They dropped off fresh pizza right out of the oven. For me that's ok what's better than fresh pizza. Not for kids. Cheese slid off and was a mess. So I brought it back up to them and said I asked for the kids slices warm they said they only have fresh pies. Wish they just said that to me in the first place. I understand I Would have just come back another time. Waited another 5-10 min. What happens next is why this is a 2 star review. They brought the same pizza back to me. Cheese half off and everything. I was shocked and asked for my money back and a manager. Manager said sorry the pizza is fresh I said ok i understand I would have waited for you to let a new pizza cool down. But you let the pizza cool down and gave me the same messed up slices back ? You couldn't even cut me some new slices of the cooled down pizza. I gladly took my money back and left. Such a simple fix. So sad that local places don't care to make it right when they make a mistake. My job always orders pizza for this place. Solid spot for pizza, this review is based on very large orders, so individual small orders might be better. Wasn't the freshest but that's understandable considering it was like a w 25 pie order. The slices I liked alot were the vegetable and vodka slices. The margarita slice was just ok. The slices I didn't like were the buffalo and meatball. The buffalo was very dry and didn't have nearly enough sauce on it, and the meatballs on the meatball slice just tasted strange, almost a bit sweet even which is weird for meatballs on pizza. Again this review is based on a very large order, so individual orders may differ, but all in all I'm always happy when my job gets pizza from here. read more

Delicious pizza place right by work. The Sicilian vodka slice is a slice of heaven. Garlic knots are the best I've ever had. The counter girl on the other hand needs a serious attitude adjustment. I worked many years in food service and retail and I know most of the time you have a million things you'd rather do. BUT you are at work so you have to be professional and have a positive attitude with the customers. She was so cold and not friendly at all. Which is just not an appealing factor to this place. The reason I will tell people about a restaurant is for two reasons. The food itself and service. So food 10/10 but service 2/10. So I bought the 2 for 12$ and I got the penne ala vodka with 1/2 of BUFFALO chicken roll first time it wasn't spicy second time I tried to give them a second chance for redemption but the second time was EVEN WORSE first of you can call it a BUFFALO ROLL and have no buffalo sauce on it second of all the roll is 50% bread 40% cheese 9.9% chicken and 0.1% sauce save your money and stop buying the non buffalo roll they might as well only sell chicken roll BUT they can redeem themselves by making it more spicy and adding more sauce and less grease I will be going again in 2 weeks to see if they have made any changes until then... read more

This review is a tad late and forgotten but after Super Bowl Sunday, now I remember why. I remember being so happy about the now chopped salads and cauliflower pizza but now eh. Super Bowl we decided to order in a Pizza Pie and a salad. Nothing to complicated and we already knew it would probably be a wait because obviously, Super Bowl Sunday, who isn't ordering in. Thats when it became an hour and a half and I decided to just call to check in because we ordered directly from a third party- Seamless. Call up, very understanding to only be told, "We don't have seamless". That's funny because I've ordered from them through seamless a plenty of times before, so how is that possible. Also why would I be calling you and why would your restaurant information be attached to the Seamless profile. Then after being put on hold, "OHH are you 725 and not 735." Well obviously or I wouldn't be calling to see where my food is. Apologized, to then explain the Pizza was delivered to the wrong house. Now..WTF. Who just takes someone else's food. Also where was the usual phone call with seamless ?! Not there. So he offers to quickly make a new pie with a salad. Fine, but at this point it's near 9. I'm losing patience, 1/2 hour later we get our pie and salad. Salad was a great chopped salad. But the Pizza. The pizza looked rushed, the cheese not fully set and some of the dough was honestly not cooked through. It was not even cut into slices, I had to do that. I was not even going to bother to call and complain, 1) it was too late and 2) frankly I was starving. A little disappointed with this and how it seems like they should train their WHOLE STAFF to know that they do have seamless.... and also I hope to never ever get a Pizza Pie that looked like this one ever again. Been a fan of this place for years, so today I chose it as the first restaurant I actually ate inside of since February 2020. Won't be going back anytime soon - it was if the pandemic never happened. Some tables were taped off from being used, but many others were too close together; patrons whipped off masks as soon as they entered. Staff does nothing to attend to any of this. My husband has been insisting that Mario's is by far the best pizza that he's had compared to any other pizza place he's been to on the Island. So, last Wednesday I was off from work and decided to meet him there for lunch to decide for myself. I already had my favorite, but I have to be totally honest. After eating a slice at Mario's, I now have a new #1. I hate to admit it, but I think he's right. This is really GREAT pizza!! Mario's pizza is family owned and has 6 other locations: Syosset, Plainview, Oyster Bay, East Northport, Seaford and Great Neck. The staff are really friendly and I love this unique system for ordering that they have, I give alot of credit to whoever thought of it. One guy at the counter takes your order/money and gives you your receipt with a number on it. Then you sit down at a table and wait, and not too long a wait it is at all. An older guy prepares your food (he must have been around for years because it seems like every customer there knows him well) and soon after another guy brings out your order. Nobody is hovering around the counter, it's a very efficient system and it works well. I ordered a regular slice, which I was kind of annoyed at myself for ordering after I saw the other incredible slices that came out. I unfortunately also have the type of husband that refuses to share his food with anyone, so I couldn't even taste the White slice that he ordered!! But, I really enjoyed my slice anyway. It was absolutely delicious!! The crust is made thin and everything they use you can tell is of the best in quality. It's loaded with Mozzarella which is made so it's reaches the top of crust (not like some other slices where you get too much crust) and there was so much of it that it was actually dripping off the sides. These slices are HUGE, almost like you're getting two for the price of one. As for the White pizza that I didn't taste, you have to eat it with a fork and knife, I never saw anything like it. Definitely the one I'm going to try next time!! There are so many other variations of pizza and specialty pies at Mario's. The meatball and sausage pizza had huge chunks of meat piled on and I was so tempted to try a Grandma slice but I was barely able to finish the one that I had. Another thing I noticed about Mario's is that it's super clean. As soon as someone leaves their table, it's cleaned immediately. They have to make room for all those customer's waiting for their number's to come up!! I am definitely hooked on this place and I know I will soon get to know the older pizza guy behind the counter well myself!! Did I mention anything about their full menu?? It's also new so everything looks nice and clean, and doesn't look like your typical cheap pizzeria. The plain cheese slice is actually pretty cheesy. As for the pineapple topping, they were pretty generous with it. They gave us lots of pineapple chunks. Ordered a grandma pie on new years day. Worst pizza we've ever experienced. It looked like it was recooked three times. One of the pieces was so soggy it couldnt be removed from the paper and just fell apart. The sauce tasted off, like it was old or just burned and used anyway. I had to leave and then went back up to get my money, which he give us back. This is the worst service I have ever had in the world. Do yourself a favor and never come here. Most of the food I've ordered from Mario's has been delicious for the past 15+ years, but lately when I get a caesar salad (to be made with ROMAINE lettuce which is predominantly green and leafy) I get a LOT of chopped WHITE stuff; the tail end, tasteless part. BLECH. Tonight it was the worst!!! 95% white crap to 5% green. At $10 a salad?!??!?!? Where's the quality control here. This was a sad, sad dinner. Me I do not regularly eat pizza, to me most pizza places are the same. However the kids love it! How can I complain? Unique to Mario's is their Pasta Pizza. Why not add more carbs I ask myself, but to be honest it was fun and worth it. Also my wife and daughter are hooked on their Penne A La Vodka which now everywhere we go has to be measured against Mario's Penne A La Vodka.
