Friendly , lively Syrian food. Lots of beautiful dates and baklava. Grocery store with deli restaurant. Service is slow because the food is prepared with care

As a middle eastern person I find it hard having authentic or even decent Mediterranean here in NM... this was by far the best place I've tried here overall. The hummus 10/10. The falafel 8/10 (which is good for me, I'm picky). Overall I has impressed and will be coming back. The prices are good and you get a lot of food. The market side has a lot of options and they even carry Nabulus cheese. :)

My daughter and I saw cafe Istanbul and had to stop in. It's a nice Mediterranean market and cafe. I had a chicken shawarma and my daughter had the beef kabobs. We also shared the cabbage wraps. Everything was great. Full of flavor. The service was good. It's basically a takeout place with some tables and chairs. Many folks ordered food Togo, but we chose to eat in. We will definitely be back and take some time to shop in the market. Thank you for a great meal.

The food here is delicious! I got the chicken shawarma platter twice at this point and I highly recommend it. I've gotten it later in the day before and the chicken was dry but mid-day it was super fresh! The rice, salad, and sauce are also delicious and incredibly flavorful. I recommend, if you're getting to go, to order your food then shop around in their store and buy the time you're done your food will be ready! All of the desserts are homemade and also very delicious. I highly recommend trying some of their baklavas. The owners have been there for decades and are very nice. It's a nice space where you'll feel like you're in a restaurant somewhere in the Middle East. Definitely felt at home here and will be back for more.

    Chicken Schwarma Plate

I had the chicken schwarma plate. It came with rice, chicken, hummus, pita, Greek salad and tzatziki. I added a side of garlic sauce which was delicious!! It was my favorite part of the whole meal. My entire plate was really tasty. We also had the falafel and it was made well but could have used more seasoning/spices. We loved the pickles on the salad. We had enough food for leftovers.

Best hummus I've ever had in my life!!!! They were so friendly here, this place was INCREDIBLE I told everyone I know about it. The attached shop is full of goodies, everything you could possibly want. I would have lunch here every week if I could!

Amazing market place that was next door to the restaurant that had a variety of foods and household essentials. We picked up grilled olives, tea, tea biscuits, pistachio baklava, kanafa, and an orange basil leaf drink. Then we ventured into the restaurant and I ordered a chicken and beef shawarma, hummus with pita and feta and olives. The restaurant was clean, and the service counter took our order as we sat down to nibble at the dishes we ended up ordering more pita and a hummus to go. The restaurant was family oriented and service was great!

In an effort to try something new, I stopped by Café Istanbul for a gyro. I don't know why I was expecting a sit down deli situation, but it was just a deli where you can order and then shop around for groceries while you wait for your goods. I just went with a standard gyro sandwich and let me say it's fantastic. Also, the prices were very affordable. I grabbed a drink from the cooler and back and a baklava to go. I definitely wanna come back and check out the grocery more in depth. They have a ton of staples for all kinds of recipes and Middle Eastern cooking. The staff was very friendly and quick with our order.

Fantastic mediterranean food in a cozy environment. I went back after they expanded to add a full kitchen. The food has definitely increased in quality. The garlic sauce now tastes house made and the meat was very tender and seasoned well. You get a huge portion of food for the price and I had plenty leftover for the next day. They still have their grocery store with a large selection of grocery items, including some high quality organic dates and various desserts. Cafe Istanbul has gotten even better over time!

What a treat! We have been wanting to try this place since we got back from our recent trip to Turkey. The food was excellent. Prices were great, and the people were extremely nice and helpful. Will definitely return to sample more of their food.

Seriously, Tully's is a great place to get lunch, pick up ready-made meals to take home, indulge in sweets, or listen to opera (did he just say opera?). Yes, opera with real Italian dinners ... stay tuned to their social media for the dates. We love coming here for all of the above. I've been going here for almost 40 years - not sure what it's going to take to get it through my…read morehead that Tully's just isn't to my taste. Over the years I keep going back, about once a year: I've had their sandwiches, their pastries, their pies . . . all kinda "meh" and all priced pretty reasonably but not inexpensively. Sandwiches give you a lot of everything . . . except flavor. Pastries are . . . fine. Pies are . . . fine, and kinda small (and not inexpensive, maybe reaching towards pricey); it's the kinda thing you are willing to pay for in order to bring it to a gathering, only to find almost no one bothers to eat it. And so you don't bother. The cookies are pretty good, actually. (And, yes, I know Italian delis - my Italian grandparents brought me to them in New York when I was a child. However, I'm not judging Tully's against these (as in "it's not as good as Back East"), I'm just saying it never really turns my crank.) Today I had a hot chicken, cheese, onion and pepper sandwich, the Carmela. It was a lot of food. But . . . not a lot of flavor. A whole lot of drippy mess in the bottom of my basket, though: water absolutely sopped through the (completely unmemorable tasting) bread loaf and pooled at the bottom of my basket as I ate in. The potato salad served alongside was fine - like what you'd get at Albertson's. The chicken was tender and . . . essentially without flavor, not even salt. There had clearly been a little marinade (I could sense some oregano and maybe garlic in there) but man could this thing have used about five times as much seasoning and then a healthy dose of a vinegar/garlic/oregano dressing on top of it. Bland. Lots of food in that $17 (almost $25 with tip) sandwich, but not a lot of enjoyment. I've had other Tully's sandwiches (both for here and to-go) that were better, but I can't really recall any of them . . . and I _never_ rush back. Like I said, this is a place I think about ("Hey, I'm right nearby; I should try Tully's again!") about once a year . . . and then, meh. To be fair - I believe that I am pretty out in left field on this take: Tully's is popular and always hopping. Get here early unless you want to stand in line. I only had to wait about three minutes to order, but by the time I left at noon this Friday there was a line to order all the way from the counter to the door. In terms of the room, it's a deli. Reasonably well set out with a decent amount of seating set out well, as well as some outside seating that you might want to try when it's not in the nineties. You order at the counter, pay, go get your own fountain drink (they also have some beer and wine, which they will serve you), find a seat and they'll bring it to you. When you're done, you bus it yourself. Pleasant staff - I don't regret tipping, although they don't do much. (As others have mentioned, if you get a cup of water, Tully's generously gives you a decent sized Solo cup - another plus.) It's fine. If you go, at least get yourself some cookies - they're pretty good.

This restaurant has maintained a high level of service, cleanliness and food quality. This morning we met our kids for breakfast here as it was closest to a central location for all. We arrived as they were opening their doors, and we followed the early queue in, were rapidly seated. Drinks were served quickly and refilled often. My wife and I split an Ol' Traditional with hash browns, bacon and pancakes for the bread. Our son had the same except with sausage and white toast. Our daughter had the Huevos Rancheros with papitas and Christmas chile. One thing that sets Hello Deli apart is their egg preparation. Most restaurants in NM fix over easy eggs with the whites fully cooked. Hello Deli follows what we find in most other places. The whites are just a bit runny. If you don't like that, be sure to order over medium. The hash browns weren't very brown, but were tasty. Next time I need to remember to order them crispy. The bacon was ok and the pancakes were very tasty but a bit doughy. Maybe being as early as we were, the griddle hadn't fully heated to the proper temperature. I know we've had better in the past. Our daughter raved about the red Chile sauce. Overall the food was good and the service was fantastic.

For the record, I'm talking about a true handheld breakfast burrito--not one served on a plate and smothered in red, green, or Christmas chile. Hello Deli in Albuquerque's Journal Center is one of the homegrown New Mexico spots I happily recommend when the craving for a handheld breakfast burrito hits. My go-to order is the "Pronto" with sausage and green chile. Just tell the kitchen that's what you want, and they'll take care of the rest. Wrapped in foil and perfectly sized (and priced) for a good breakfast on the go, the Pronto delivers a well-balanced combination of eggs, cheese, potatoes, sausage, and New Mexico green chile. As you peel back the foil, you're greeted with warm, satisfying goodness in every bite. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, the Pronto is reliably delicious and remains my go-to handheld breakfast burrito in Albuquerque.

I also ordered an iced Americano since they didn't offer cold brew. The Americano was refreshingly strong and very tasty. The espresso didn't taste burnt or like the machine hadn't been cleaned in a while (you can tell). Sadly, the breakfast sandwich was underwhelming. There was a large quantity of eggs and not enough cheese, and the flavor of the red chile was overpowered by everything else.
