My friend and I ate at Jason's Deli at 21 0 5 Louisiana Boulevard. In Albuquerque, New Mexico today, June 15, 2026. This was the first time my friend had ever eaten at the deli, and it was a belated birthday celebration. After sitting down, my friend took a couple of bites of food and noticed there was a foreign object on her plate. We weren't sure what the source of the object was and immediately contacted the manager. I didn't get her name but I want to commend her for exceptional customer service. She was polite and concerned about our feelings and gave us options to rectify the situation. I felt bad because it was my friend's first experience. However my distress was certainly mitigated by the managers response. I will definitely be eating there again and again. Really nice clean establishment with so many offerings at the most affordable prices and fast and friendly service! We had one of the most delicious French Onion Soup ever and Thick Tasteful Reuben and absolutely amazing Mixed Salad with so much fresh fruit and other combinations of delicious fresh garden offerings that I couldn't finish and lastly Gumbo. Only reason for deduction of one from the most deserving Five Stars is because of the Gumbo! It was probably good in the earlier hours but as the time went on and not too many patrons ordered this dish, the liquid became thick, salty and ingredients dried up and hardened. Lots of people are inside, place was clean actually enjoyed the experience. Food was really good. You can get half sandwich and soup. The drink is kind of expensive. I got iced tea and it was $3. It's ice iced tea come on. I didn't get a salad so I kicked myself because the salad bar looked really good. I did get a Reuben and a cup of soup I asked for chicken noodle, but I got chicken rice, but it was still a good soup, so I ate it. They will bring you your food. How did it take me 5 years to find a great deli sandwich in Albuquerque? Went to this location and I really thought beginning to end a great experience. Sandwiches are big and awesome. I had a spicy Italian sub. My first visit to Jason's deli was on June 10, 2025. I met a friend there for lunch. The outside signage is excellent and there is plenty of parking. Very friendly staff and a clear and extensive menu. I decided to go with a 1/4 muffaletta special that included potato chips, and a side of macaroni and cheese. I forgot to take pictures of the food! My good friend has been here before and loves their salad bar, and I can see why. Now, I have been to New Orleans and had a muffaletta at Central hardware, This is as close as you get! The next stop on our series was Jason's Deli, an old favorite stop for after class and pre-meeting sandwiches. I'm happy to report that they brought back my favorite sandwich (the Caprese) for the summer. The dining room was clean and service was fast. When I ordered my sandwich, I requested for them to make it extra hot (I like my cheese melted ) but it came out cold. Not wanting to make a fuss I enjoyed it as is without sending it back, finding it to be refreshing and the ingredients were fresh! Checking the receipt on the way out, I could see that the kitchen didn't get the memo... which happens! (If you haven't worked with a POS system before, it's not as easy as customers think!). Although the staff was nice, my grilled cheese on sour dough was dry and there may have been 1 thin slice of cheese in it. They also cut the bread for their sandwiches oddly so one has to have anaconda-like jaws to take a bite of it. As we were leaving we walked by the area where the food is made and I saw two of the condiment squeeze bottles, one looked like mayo and I do not know what the other was, but there was a fly in the top of the lid, and all you could see was the back end of the fly's butt and tips of the wings. I wanted to vomit. This is the second Jason's Deli we have been to, the first in Florida was so dirty that we left and did not order anything. We've frequented this location for years! In fact, my husband and I have each respectively gone to this Jason's location since before we met. The salad bar is incredible and so are the sandwiches. The chicken salad with the pineapple is my favorite - especially on a croissant! My husband and father-in-law love the pastrami! I loved the French Onion soup but they recently removed it from the menu, which is a big bummer. I love that everything from here is so fresh and wholesome. The breads from the salad bar and the ice cream are free if you are eating in, even if you don't purchase the salad bar. If you purchase a drink, the flavored teas are a must try! They are fantastic! If you have room for dessert other than ice cream, their cheesecake and cakes are pretty tasty. My only reason for docking them a star is that we order by phone often and my husband always asks for extra of the stone ground mustard on the side and they keep forgetting or giving him regular mustard packets.
