I am extremely disappointed with the service in this place. It is genuinely one of the worst experiences I have had. After finishing out food I ordered a coffee while my wife finished her wine and before bringing it out, the waiter brought the check. I reminded him of the coffee I ordered, and after looking at the check he turned around and left. After several minutes he came back with a $5 bill and told us we could now leave, as there was a long wait and it be best we wouldn't leave other customers waiting. read more

I've been trying to get here for ages. Their operating hours don't work well for me. If I do go back it will be for dine in. My first order was a pick up. And it was just ok. When we arrived to pick up our pizza was sitting out on a table with 3 other orders. By the time we got home, most of the heat had dissipated. It was tasty enough, but I can't see how it measured up to the high reviews given. While this was pretty good, There are other local pizza places that are better. read more

Maybe the dinner-in experience is better, but holy hell was the carry-out trash. Maybe I've just experienced so many other genuine Italian restaurants from chicago ect, that my expectations were a bit higher. But the pasta tasted as if the cook doesn't know the meaning of al dente or too much butter. The flavor was as exciting as a can of generic butter/poor renditions of alfredo sauce. This place has been on my Yelp bookmark list forever and I'm glad we finally got around to trying it! It's pretty small and intimate inside, but we got lucky and were seated immediately on Friday night. Must have been perfect timing because there was a line when we left. The servers are very aware of the limited seating and do an excellent job at turning tables over in an efficient manner. You can tell they all work well together and everything is well oiled machine. The bread they brought us while waiting for our order was the perfect blend of crispy and chewy and the herbed butter was divine! We ordered the shrimp linguine and a pizza to share. The server was kind enough to have the linguine split into two bowls when she brought them out. The pizza came out at record speed and we are it as an appetizer which was perfect! Having just returned from NYC where I had some of the best pizza in the country, this one fell a little short, but I realize that's a little unfair. I also wish they had a soda fountain and a full bar. They do allow you to bring your own wine though and only charge a $5 corking fee. Too bad we aren't wine drinkers. Patio is nice but there's no heaters. Service is ok. Menu is basic. We had to pay for bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar when it's part of the meal in Italian restaurants. The bread and the olive oil were mediocre. Food was ok. Very basic. They didn't have black pepper and brought red pepper to eat with pasta (what?). They also brought store bought grated Parmesan cheese which is not something they do In good Italian restaurants; in good Italian places, they have the Parmesan shredded in front of you. Cafe Italia in EPT! Pizza!!! I ordered the House salad: fresh organic greens, pears, cherry tomatoes, walnuts, parmesan, and a house vinaigrette which was delicious. I then ordered the Gracie's pizza which had roasted fennel, mushrooms, handmade mozzarella, and parmesan cheese. It was hot, bursting with a mixture of flavors that worked so well together and of course it was so good. The prices are bit on the high side for the amount of food I received. My foodie partner was a bit upset over the prices but I may want to go back again because the dishes had such memorable flavors. read more

Absolutely the best pizza in town! The atmosphere is quaint and enjoyable. The service is always friendly and above par compared to other restaurants. And the food is supremely amazing! Go Early! and Check hours. They are crazy busy. It is possible you will have to attempt several times to eat here as it is small but very good. What I like it you can bring your own bottle of wine and they will uncork it for you. They serve no alcohol. The pizza is absolute yummy. I would recommend the Smoked Pizza. Cheese and the fennel sausage is made in house. There are photos on the wall of the owner making the cheese. It is one of best pizzas I have had in my adult life. Atmosphere is quaint in this little strip mall setup they have an nice, comfortable outside patio weather permitting. The patio has a beautiful view of the sun going down. A great first date when the weather is warm. Or when you are in need of a romance booster. We ordered the spaghetti. It was good but for $14.00 it was in my opinion small. Cafe Italia is easily the best brick-oven pizza spot in El Paso. Many restaurants in the city offer brick-oven pizza, but this is the only place that properly creates a crust that is delightfully crisp without completely charring and losing its fluffy texture. I come here almost weekly to enjoy the slices. If this is your first time, don't order take out! The pizza loses its magic as it cools in the car. Your best bet is to eat in, but be warned that the Mesa location is a bit cramped. read more

The calzone I ordered I asked for additional pepperoni. $3 charge. The calzone looks absolutely enormous when it's served, but I was disappointed to find it was mostly air and deflates significantly when you're digging in. The inside left much to be desired. Came to this restaurant on a Friday night with my girlfriend - we arrived a little later than we wanted to, about 9:10PM, but still plenty of time before close so we figured "no big deal". I've worked food service before and while I wouldn't always like to stay a little later than closing time I was aware that it comes with the territory. Here, though, I got the impression that they wanted to rush us out the door as fast as possible, and it was uncomfortable to day the least. From the beginning, the staff made it seem like they might turn us away because it was too late - again, at 9:10PM, 50 minutes before close. While we were dining they did turn away a couple who showed up at 9:28. While we were eating they were rushing to close everything down, checking up on us in a way that was clearly meant to rush us out, and acting rudely in general. We were out by 9:45, still before closing time, but it felt like we were there past closing during our entire dinner. We were even questioning whether or not they closed at 9 or 10. Our server was nice and the food was good, but this is the first time I've experienced something like this at a restaurant and the first review I've ever been compelled to write as a result. I took a customer for dinner here. We order the rib eye was just ok at best pizza was good. But right when we were finishing our food we were rushed out, the owner came to ask us to sign the credit card bill because they had people waiting this was when we were enjoying our nice wine. I told the owner that we were enjoying our wine not rush us he got an attitudes saying he was the owner and he wanted us out. This is one of the best restaurants in El Paso! Always consistently good! My favorite is the Andy's, Gracie's, and the one with Aragula on top. Grilled veggies are fire too! Oh and the house salad too. One of my favorite places to go to. I love this place! This is my go-to for pizza and pasta in town. It's also BYOB with no extra charge at all. They use a brick oven and each order is prepared as you order it. I got a pizza with half Andy's and half Gracie's topping. The Andy's pizza has a delicious salami pepperoni topping with jalapeños. It has a wonderful level of slight spice to it. The Gracie's is a white fennel and mushroom pizza that is a great contrast to the Andy's. I love it that I was able to get a tomato-based on half and a white pizza on the other half. Really recommend trying their house salad. Often, people don't add veggies to their meal and this is a great option. The salad is always fresh and has pears on it! Nice touch for sure! The patio was beautiful with the view. No alcohol here. So bring your own bottle they charge a corkage fee of like six dollars . They provide the glasses. It's a good thing that Cafe Italia is in the business of making brick-oven pizzas and not in the business of taking group reservations because they are really good at the former and not so good at the latter. We were supposed to have the Yelp holiday dinnner, our proudest tradition, here, but they told Tanya that we didn't need to make reservations because they aren't very busy on weeknights. Gathering time comes around and sure enough place is packed and our proudest tradition is cancelled, sad face, but nothing we can do about it, no big deal, or so I thought... Tanya and I were already there and a small table is available, so we decided to grab dinner there anyway. Halfway through they put together a large table next to us, nobody is sitting there. That table, we would later find out, was for a large group having their gift exchange. It would appear that a reservation had taken place after all! SHOCKED FACE! Oh well, that doesn't detract from the deliciousness of their food, we had the Gracie's pizza, which was terrific and the Panne Rustico platter was a great appetizer.
