Lol - How difficult is it to quickly order a mocha with whip here? Well, first navigate a lengthy kiosk menu and place your order completely on your own since the humans walking around don't want to interact or take your order, then have the barista tell you there is no whip and the other barista chime in that there is, it's just somewhere else, THEN the proprietor keeps telling you to basically go somewhere else to wait for your order and THEN find that we, the patrons, are paying for their healthcare - see receipt. I tried coming here a year ago during business hours but was turned away on that visit because they had "run out of bread" by the same young gentleman proprietor. Clearly this place isn't for me and that's fine. The mocha was average at best.

    Bahn Mi Sandwich

I was quite pleased with this little sandwich shop in Carmel. I was impressed by their wide variety of sandwiches. I ordered the Caprese sandwich (and added turkey to it), and a friend ordered the Bahn Mi sandwich and we were both happy with our choices. The burrata on the Caprese was fabulous, paired with the balsamic reduction and tomatoes was delicious. Liked adding turkey for a little extra protein but definitely didn't need it. I appreciated that they had good indoor seating if you are wanting a quick/nice lunch in, or also very easy to take to go or eat in the outdoor area. Nicer than your typical sandwich shop, and yummy combinations.

    Purist Sandwich with Wagyu beef

At first I was a bit taken aback by the price of a sandwich at Breadsong, even though the restaurant has a great rating and reviews on Yelp, which I usually use to help guide my dining options. BUT, I was craving a really good sandwich, so I decided to splurge and treat myself to The Purist: a Wagyu beef sandwich made on sourdough bread. I used the restaurant's online ordering feature, since I wanted to do takeout. I'm glad I did, because the in-store model is fast-casual, and I'm not a huge fan of that type of service. I did notice a couple dining-in for lunch at an adjacent restaurant space. I took my sandwich along on a day trip to Point Lobos, and trust me when I say - that sandwich held up nicely in my backpack for a couple hours before I stopped to take a lunch break. It was worth the wait, and SO satisfying. The bread was amazing, the flavors of the meat, cheese, onions and mayo all complimented each-other wonderfully. I can't wait to come back and try some of their other sandwiches :) I recommend you treat yourself and give them a try!

You order at the kiosk, they don't take orders at the counter. They have seating, if you do dine in they find you and bring your food to the table. We tried Turkey sandwich and wagyu roast beef. They were both really good, highly recommend. I also had the lavender latte and it did not disappoint.

Very satisfying lunch stop! We sat outside with our dog but think inside tables were open as well. There was a musician playing, not sure if he's a regular. duck fat fries - delish although our batch wasn't crispy hot pastrami and cheese on sourdough - too salty for me, even for pastrami, but lovedddd the sourdough wagyu burnt ends on featherlight roll - not very meaty, but enjoyed the mix of flavors and textures. The roll didn't impress, I just kept thinking about the sourdough.. Very intrigued about the CBD, though afraid to commit to a whole sandwich.

Highlight of this place is quality over quantity, that said... plenty to fill you up. Went with the chicken Parm on the recommendation of the worker, so glad I did! super flavorful. Bahn Mi was amazing too. Perfect location for lunch and then a drive along the coast.

Still my favorite sandwich in town, especially the classic Turkey or the classic roast beef. Grilled cheese with tomato bisque is my kid's favorite now. Delicious bread and homemade aiolis. Fries extra dark is my preference . Filtered water and cappuccinos are my standard drinks. We usually eat in but also get it to go (no fries to go as they get soggy)

It's pricey but I suppose you should know as you are in Carmel. I would say, if you are starving and are looking for volume, be prepared to pay for it. But that being said, what I did order was great. You just order at a screen in front and they bring the food over to you at a table you can just pick and sit at. I went for breakfast with my boyfriend and split the fries with him , which was a struggle since it felt like a small serving. We also got the donut holes which I would not get again personally but it was cool to say I tried a duck fat donut at least. Didn't see that different from a general donut. My boyfriend said the sandwich tasted much better than it looked - and no complaints on coffee.

    Not very much meat!

We stopped by while driving along the coast and ordered a cappuccino, a latte, and a tiramisu. The café itself is small and has a nice atmosphere, but it definitely feels like it could use some renovation. The biggest disappointment was the coffee. Both drinks were watery, bitter, and tasted more like regular drip coffee than something you'd expect from a café with such high ratings. The tiramisu was also much smaller than expected and much sweeter than a traditional tiramisu. There was also a small outdoor patio, which could be really charming, but it also looked tired. The wooden tables were weathered, dusty, and in need of some care I know this café is known as an old French café, and I really wanted to love it. The first thing they brought out was bread with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and, no joke, that ended up being my favorite bite of the meal. I was still thinking about the bread while eating everything else, which probably says more than I intended. The clam chowder was good and comforting, but if you've had chowder in Monterey, you know the bar is pretty high. The calamari was the bigger disappointment. It was chewy instead of tender and didn't have that light, crispy crunch that makes calamari worth ordering in the first place. By the time we finished the chowder and calamari we were full, but we still looked through the menu to see if anything tempted us. Honestly, nothing really stood out. The pasta prices felt steep, and there wasn't a dish that made us say, "Okay, we have to come back and try that." The only thing that really took away from the experience was how close the tables were. I could hear the people next to us whispering and accidentally became invested in a conversation I was never invited to. Overall, it's a cute place with great service and a nice ambiance that's worth checking out if you're visiting Carmel. I don't regret going, but I also don't see myself going back. On the bright side, at least the bread gave me something to remember. Someone in that kitchen deserves a raise for that basket alone.

When we arrived they had a small parking lot but busy because they do a lot of Door Dash and Uber Eats business. Once inside I took a quick look at the menu and saw they had breakfast burritos of either Chorizo-Sausage-Ham-Bacon or Veggie. I chose Chorizo breakfast burrito($10.39) The shop is run by the owner-he was the cashier and the cook. In talking to him,he was telling me that his family owns multiple Mexican small shops like this in the Juarez Mexico area and El Paso Texas area.Says that all the shops use the same recipe for their hot sauce that is served with the burritos. Once the burrito arrived,it was both heavy and warm.Once I cut it open,I was able to appreciate the craftsmanship of this burrito in all its chorizo, egg, potato and cheese glory-it was beautiful. As pretty as it was though,it tasted even better,I had planned on only eating half of it as I had a tee time in less than an hour but one bite led to another and then it was gone. I've had many breakfast burritos in my day and as unexpected as this is to say, this may have been the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Also the aforementioned family-recipe hot sauce that came with the burrito was so spicy yet so tasty--perfect combo to a perfect burrito. In closing,if you ever find yourself in the Monterey area and you want to treat yourself to some upper echelon breakfast burritos-do yourself a favor and stop at 3 Mundos sandwich shop-a top tier food experience awaits.
