Food: I've never been to France but I assume this is what French brunch would taste like, warm soft and heavenly! Starting with hazelnut capuccino, it was generous amount of foam on top with sweet gold liquud of coffee on the bottom. French toast was yummy and drenched in syrup and ooey gooey just like how I like it. The egg in sandwich was super pillowy and mixed very well with subtle taste of brie cheese. My personal favorite dish was steak eggs benedict, cooked to perfect medium rare and melted right down in my mouth with it's juicy tender goodness. They accidentally made an extra creme brulee, which we fortunately got to taste and it was amazing with crunchy sugar top and soft vanilla cream filling underneath! Price: see attached brunch menu for detailed pricing. They offer half portion and full portion options, which I really liked, so we can try out more food items even with less people. I'd say that the pricing was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food/drink we got here, I was way too full when we left haha Ambiance: cute little corner cafe with only about 4-5 tables inside and 1-2 tables outside. Clean and cozy vibes, great to come with friends or partner for great brunch. This place is reservation only! I did call early in the morning, on the day of, and was able to secure 12:30pm spot. I showed up a bit early around like 11:40am, but they graciously seated us without having to wait too long Service: great service, the owner was a nice lady with cute French baret, she explained the specials and took our order. Other waiters including a young woman who got our coffee and tea was very patient with us and friendly and welcoming too. We were told initially that food may take a while, but honestly it didn't even seem like too much of a wait Parking: lots of free outdoor parking lot right next to the cafe within the big mall complex, had no trouble finding a spot!

You would not beReve that such an amazing French cafe could be found in Riverside but here we are, at Cafe Le Reve. First thing you should know is that you HAVE to make a reservation to dine here, almost no exceptions at all. So call ahead of time (even if it's day of) and see if you can snag a spot. Couldn't think of a better place to treat my girlfriend out without breaking the bank (but don't tell her that). Anyway, onto the food and drink: I opted for a hazelnut cappuccino and phew, it was amazing, not too sweet, but still rich, and gave me my caffeine fix for the day. The Brioche french toast was so good, you don't need to ask for syrup. It was so sweet as is and honestly the cheaper, smaller, portion is more than enough for brunch. It was so subtly sweet and yummy I inhaled it pretty quick. The Egg and brie croissant sandwich was amazing too, namely because the egg is so fluffy, the brie is melted so wonderfully, and the croissant is unlike any croissant I've had before. The croissant is bun shaped! It's simple but works so well. Our favorite was the Steak Benedict though cause who wouldn't want filet mignon on eggs benedict with a croissant bun instead of english muffin? Yeah. The filet mignon was cooked so tenderly, the entire benedict just, phew, can't describe how much I couldn't stop eating despite being so full. The pave potatoes and tomato provencal are a nice, flavorful side to offset all that protein you're taking in. So you think we've had enough? Wrong. The cook made a creme brulee that was to die for. My girlfriend and I had to compete and eat as much as we could before it was all gone. Best part is that the creme brulee was originally a birthday item for a different party but they decided to kindly gift it to us anyway. Anyway, I've rambled enough, but this place is definitely a must try cause the food is amazing, service is precious, and the overall vibes are just so cute and cozy. If you eat here, be sure to just soak in the atmosphere and eat at a steady pace, no one is rushing anybody, not even the wait staff.

Food: I tried the sliders, and I liked that there were three different types to try. The beef slider was definitely the best, while the vegan one was still good but my least favorite of the three. My friend had an omelette with fries on the side (sides are a dollar extra), and both were tasty. Nothing mind-blowing, but everything was enjoyable and fresh. Service: The service was great! They are really friendly and attentive. One thing I appreciated was how they explained menu items that weren't listed but were available to order, which was super helpful. We didn't have a reservation, but since we came early, they seated us right away because there were open tables. Ambiance: The restaurant was clean, small, and had a nice interior. It wasn't overly fancy or overdone, just cozy and welcoming. It was perfect for a casual meal.

If I could do 4.5 stars on Yelp, I probably would because I'm so conflicted! Cafe Le Reve is undoubtedly my favorite brunch in the Riverside/Moreno Valley area, BUT the prices are steep. I am obsessed with the truffle fries and everything we've eaten has been perfectly cooked--from eggs to omelettes to hollandaise... The cafe is tiny! I love the flavors here (and have been here several times to try different dishes), but have found it hard to comeback because of prices.

I ordered the Benedict, one of each of above. Both were perfectly delicious and needed no other seasoning or sauce. All the pastries were fresh! This place is by reservation only as space is limited. All staff were attentive both over the phone and in person.

You cannot find many restaurants that offer this sort of experience around here. It's the chef and his wife and daughter along with a small staff who serve and cook the food to about six tables. So you have to have a reservation because it's always in demand. The food is fresh and all French. I can't say that it actually reminded me of being in France, but the brunch was good.

A delicious French breakfast spot in the Mission Grove area. I was really impressed with their croque madame and their brioche French toast in particular. The food is fresh, very well done, and full of flavors. Service was good but one thing to note is that reservations are usually required. Restaurant is a bit small but was clean and nicely decorated. Can't wait to try more of their menu!

This is a very small café and reservations are required. 9 of us came to celebrate a birthday for dinner. The owners, Ludovic and Tammi along with their employees, Alexia and Santos, were our servers and chefs. They were extremely personable and it felt more like we were at a home. The food was very good as well. Our family had a great time. In addition to what you see in these photos, we also had and a chicken dish that was delicious.

Le Rève translated means "The Dream," and indeed it is. First, it was their dream...to open their own authentic French cafe. And they did, two years ago, in May 2021. Secondly, it was my own dream to find a delightful French bistro with great food and equally delightful owners. Tah dah. My dream was realized. Perhaps we should now call it "Café La Réalité"? Prepare yourself for an un-rushed, friendly, gastronomic experience here. French chanson music such as this, https://youtu.be/NilqH1UjR6Y in the background is the final touch that will tease you into wondering if you have been teleported to France. We were unaware that they strongly advertise as "RESERVATIONS ONLY". So we innocently drove 30 miles only to gasp when we saw the shocking signage. The good news was... we got very lucky this day, and one table for two was open. And they welcomed us with open arms. Also, for you newbies, be forewarned. They have only 6 tables inside and can only accommodate around 18 people at any given time. However, once the weather warms up, there will be more outdoor seating available. Café Le Rêve is run by 3 people. Ludovic (Ludo), the chef, is Corsican and has a delightful French accent. His very American wife, Tammy, and daughter, Alexia, are the ones who "manage" the front, with one caveat. It appears Ludovic loves to escape the kitchen, take over the hospitality role, and chat with his adoring customers whenever possible. He is undeterred, and his good-hearted, understanding wife gives him some lattitude, within reason. But back in the kitchen, he swiftly goes to work to produce very fine meals with alacrity. A talented and self-declared passionate chef, Ludo has many years of cheffing. His wife mentioned he had worked at the Mission Inn and also UCR as a chef, but I suspect there is more. He originally started as a pastry chef, hence still makes his own pastries and mouth watering desserts. The delicate croissant rolls used for his Benedicts, sandwiches, and burgers are his, too. La Mer, a crab cake Benedict, was my choice. I found it unusual that you could order either a one - or two-Benedict breakfast. The price is split exactly in half if you choose the smaller portion. The made-to-order hollandaise is perfect, the poached egg(s) perfectly runny, the crab cake(s) generous, fresh, and clean tasting, without bulky fillers. And yes, it is real crab meat. I chose the Tomato Provençal as my side, two lightly baked tomatoes with a butter and herbed, crisp bread crumb topping. Our other choice was this morning's steak special, a huge, thick NY steak, cooked to a perfect rare/med. rare temperature. The grilled flavor was outstanding, but unfortunately, this NY steak was not the most tender one. However, it came with a large cube of their famous Cafe Pave potatoes, a layered, baked, potato dish with gruyere, cream, and a secret ingredient, (similar to a potato au gratin) that was simply wonderful. Not to be missed! Great coffee, btw. It is a French roasted coffee bean. This first experience was so delightful that it has compelled me to return. I am looking forward to trying more on his menu, particularly his French onion soup and quiche du jour. His breakfast crêpe, also a Spéciale du Jour that Sunday morning, looked extraordinary, comparable in size to a humongous burrito, but with that incomparable French flair. Sometimes, they do a Friday or Saturday night dinner. Have them add your email address to their list, and they will notify you when and what is on their special menu for that evening.

visit My wife and I recently moved into the area and were so excited to try Café Le Rêve for breakfast. We brought our dog and were happy to see they were very accommodating to let us sit outside. The servers were wonderful -- genuinely kind, friendly, and attentive -- and that's the main reason this review isn't lower. The staff truly made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, the food experience didn't match the service. We ordered the Steak Frites, the Filet Mignon Benedict, and the Brioche French Toast to share. The flavor of the rosemary garlic butter on the steak was great, but both of our steaks came out completely cold -- so cold, in fact, that the butter didn't even melt. We both ordered medium-rare, but the steaks were closer to medium when served. We politely sent them back, assuming new ones would be made. However, the same steaks were returned to us -- only reheated. Sadly, they were still barely warm and now cooked to a medium-well. My wife's Benedict had lost most of its sauce, and the bread underneath wasn't even re-toasted. For a dish priced around $38, it felt disappointing to receive reheated food that was still cold. We completely understand that mistakes happen, and cooking steak can be tricky -- but serving food at the right temperature is something that can definitely be controlled. Despite this, we do plan to give Café Le Rêve another try, because the staff were truly wonderful, and we love supporting local spots near our new home. Hopefully next time the kitchen execution matches the excellent service. Also, to add to the review they forgot about the brioche French toast and brought it at the end and never apologized or anything. But I know they forgot, we got the bill after we finished eating but haven't received our, French toast:( I think the most important thing with any customer and any job is to always be 100% transparent.

A quaint family run cafe with a lovely brunch menu! We're not from Riverside and just walked in hoping to get a table even though the sign on the door said "Reservations only". Luckily they were able to accommodate our party of 3. The service was friendly and attentive. Our food was hot and delicious! A very nice first visit! Our advice, plan ahead & call for a reservation to enjoy this beautiful little restaurant.

Just left the parking lot. It's my first time coming here, I saw the sign on the door saying it's reservation only. I called the number and asked the girl who answered, "this is my first time at this restaurant and I see you require reservations. Do you have an opening for 3 right now or should I reserve for later?" She said... can I place you on a brief hold. No prob. We then watch her make and pour coffee, took about 4 minutes, then come back to the phone to ask if we can continue to be on hold. I said "ok.. I'm right outside.." she put me on hold again and stood behind the counter, doing nothing. So we left. read more

Even though we didn't have a reservation they welcomed us in because they weren't busy, you can tell they make the their food fresh so it makes sense they do by reservation. The food was absolutely delicious. My sister ordered a tea and they kept coming to refill her cup without needing to for us to call them over. We just found and tried this French cafe - what a gem! Family owned and operated; the service was impeccable and the food - wow. I had the Croque Madame sandwich, with savory herb-and-crumb-topped Provencal tomatoes on the side; it was SO delicious, and so generous, I took some home. My husband ordered the Brioche French Toast, which is served with FRESH berries and cream; it was heavenly. So delicious - vive la France! We cannot recommend this cafe highly enough! (Be sure to call and make a reservation in advance, because it is fairly small and some book groups meet there.) read more

I never write reviews but I feel this was a unique experience. The staff is very friendly, almost too friendly. If it got out that they were just robots pretending to run a cafe, I'd say "yeah I knew it." They watched us eat the entire time and sounded like AI trying to communicate. Great omelettes. read more

I saw this cafe and thought I would try it out. Once I entered I approached the kitchen area to see if anyone could help me. It was very odd since I had to ask them for a table and they took a moment to look around for a table which I laughed about because there was only two tables with people there. The food looked amazing but unfortunately was very bland. Tasteless. I found a sticker in my food. The chef apologized. The two servers would non stop come to the table asking if I needed anything else. It was kind of annoying. I ended up getting sick from the food. Definitely not coming back. read more

Our first time eating here ... and let me tell ya ... it was ok! My fillet mignon sandwich served with French fries was cooked to perfection and tasted so delicious! However, the chicken sandwiches both my children had, was very very DRY as in swallowed a piece of flour ball with not enough water to flush it down. Other than that, the friend service and hospitality was exceptional! read more

Probably the best breakfast I have ever had! The food is so apparent that it is prepared with a master chef who studied in France. Cant say enough about the quality and presentation. But I don't quite understand their business model. Only about 8 tables in the whole restaurant, and you absolutely must have a reservation. If you show up and there is an open table and you don't have a reservation it appeared to me that they still leave the table open vs filling it. Perhaps I missed something but I saw it happen several times when we were there. Play by the rules and simply make a reservation you WON'T be disappointed. read more

We went for Mother's Day and had reservations for outside. Our table was facing the parking lot with cars a few feet away, but when we asked, they graciously moved us to the other side which was slightly nicer. The food and service made up for this. We all loved our meals: French Toast, Salmon Benedict, and a Savory Crepe. They were well-staffed with very attentive waiters, and moms were presented with a beautiful long stemmed white rose and dessert. Definitely recommend this cute, tiny restaurant. This place is bomb.com well worth every minute and every penny. Reservations are recommended but we were able to sneak in before it got too busy. The food seriously is amazing and the staff was very personable every time I ran out of water the waiter refilled it. Their food is great but I didn't have a good experience. I have a special needs toddler who can be loud, make certain noises or faces, and usually I'm used to other guest staring and making comments, this time I caught the servers making faces to each other. I'm very sensitive. I know we're loud, I know we're different, but don't make me feel anxious. read more

It's reservation only! We showed up at restaurant and only 1 table was occupied and they turned us away cause we didn't have reservations. We drove over 30 mins to get here so don't waste your time if you don't call ahead. read more

Very cute French restaurant (pretty small with only a few tables and requires a reservation!) but the vibe was cute classic French with just a touch of modern, the staff were all very friendly, helpful and prompt. The food was SOOOOO GOOD!! 10/10. The breakfast banana split was just the right amount of sweet and healthy, and the Croque Madame was savory and luxurious and sooo yummy. And the dauphinoise potato side was creamy and delicious. Wish we lived nearby because it would probably be our new breakfast place. Would definitely recommend. read more

Staff was not friendly or hospitable. Party of 5 celebrating our birthday. After waiting for 30+ minute we were finally seated just to wait even LONGER without ever being offered a menu or even water. Not kid friendly, no kids meals on the menu. When we finally ordered, they were out of what we wanted. We love to support small business, but we decided to just go to IHOP. Maybe I'll try again with a party of two? read more

first off, i wasn't gonna make a review until i heard the owner say "she just wants to eat for free" after i complained about my food. me and my boyfriend wanted to eat here today cause it's been a while since we've been here. we've been coming here the 2 years we've been dating and this place has not been improving at all. Cafe Le Reve has always been on the pricy side but today was the worst. I'm usually a dessert person, so I asked if there were any sweet crepes today- after talking to the chef, the server (who is also the owner) came back saying they could do a mixed berries crepe. I said yes thinking the crepe was going to come out with berries on the inside and top. But as i'm cutting into it a mountain of jam decides to slide out. The crepe just had strawberry jam inside and mixed berries on top. The entree came with two of the berry crepes for 16 dollars??? really????? to me this wasn't worth the asking price, after my complaint the server went back to talk to her husband (the chef) and they were nice enough to just take it off the bill. but obviously they weren't happy they had to do that tho as an argument ensues right after in the back. if you're gonna complain about customers maybe not yell to the point where they can hear you. it was just really awkward after that- my boyfriend really didn't like his meal either. he complained that there's just a whole block of mustard in his sandwich. even tho we didn't like the food today, we still tipped 20% on top because they were willing to take off the berry crepe. but we already agreed to stop coming here after today's experience. read more

Wifey and I love this place. Best breakfast around here. The potato cube thing is soooo good. Eggs Benedict can be a little too undercooked if you don't like that fyi. Benedict on steak filet Minon is to die for. Good stuff and friendly staff. They can get a wait time as it's a small place so plan on busy days taking longer. Thanks for the yummy food! read more

Never did we expect that a small cafe style restaurant like this would be "reservation only" but we found out upon arrival. Given it was 80% empty we thought we'd enquire about walk in's. The look of fear took over the hostess' face as she glanced at the guy behind the counter. To say this "gentleman" was unpleasant is an understatement. He is just a downright jerk. Without even addressing us but definitely glaring he tells a different person while pointing at us "Can you go deal with these people?". So, it may be true that the food is awesome as some reviews state. Too bad I will never consider patronizing this establishment after that encounter. I am hopeful it was just a bad day for him but I doubt it. read more

We came for brunch - Absolutely delicious! They are currently reservation only, so be sure to call ahead. I think in doing this, they really preserve the quality of service and food. The service was attentive and kind, and the food was SO good. My husband and I shared a latte, the brie and egg croissant sandwich (added bacon) with a side of pavé potatoes, and the French toast. It was fun to share so we could have savory and sweet and try more than one dish. Every bite was delicious! The sandwich was hot, fresh and generous with melt-y Brie and the pavé potatoes were a tasty, cheesy stack of thinly sliced potatoes. The French toast was like crème brûlée in French toast form, topped with whipped cream and fresh berries - decadent! The portions were hearty so we have some leftovers to enjoy. I've had multiple things here and everything has been AMAZING. It's a very cute cozy place. It reminds me of a restaurant in Europe. The French onion grilled cheese was one of the best foods I've had. I also had the French toast too and it was sooooo good. The bread was so sweet and the custard was perfect. Ooh la laa i'm hooked..The foods délicieux, staff friendly and owners stop by the table to say hi! We try to come by for breakfast cuz the tartines are bomb. I had the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The sauce, fresh bread and a lot of crab cake were so memorable! The tomato provincal and potato pave were perfect compliments as well. Rude staff. We called for a reservation and they told us to just come in and when we got there with no other customers inside, they gave us dirty looks and told us to leave because we had 2 kids and "not enough" room with ALL open tables. Very rude. We were so hungry we would have been in and out in 20 mins. Do not recommend and will not be back! read more

Yelp led us to Cafe Le Reve this Sunday morning and this small family owned business did not disappoint! I had the tomato and spinach quiche and my Husband had the Mediterranean omelette. The portions were perfect, the food was delicious, and the customer service was personable, attentive and gave off purely happy vibes! The chef came out to see how we were enjoying our food. My clean plate was my testimony! Hearing we would return and we live all the way in Fontana, he gave us a little treat to make our trip home sweet! We highly recommend! read more

One of my favorite parts was the fresh tortillas. They come out hot and fresh from the oven, and you can literally watch them being made right in front of you, which made it even better. And the best part is they're free. We ordered the carne fajitas and chile relleno. The fajitas were incredible, the meat was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, with that perfect smoky sear that comes from being cooked fresh on a hot skillet. Everything came out sizzling and stayed flavorful with every bite. The chile relleno was also really good, with a nice balance of savory and slightly creamy filling that paired well with the sauce. We have not been here since the 90's and I have to say, it was much better back then. All in all, there is just no flavor. The salsa tasted like watery tomatoes, our waitress gave us a little side of habanero salsa to incorporate with it but that heat is the extreme for me. We ordered the Mesquite chicken and steak fajitas which were less than average. Not sure if it was just a bad day, but the taste of the protein did not match up to the wonderful smell of BBQ outside the restaurant. The tortillas were just ok, first batch was not even warm. My Michelada was good though. Bummer visit after being away for so long. Looks like the interior could stand a makeover.

"We had dinner here last night--my wife, granddaughter, and I--and everything was excellent. I had the duck with orange sauce, which was outstanding. My wife enjoyed her steak, and the chef even made special sliders for my granddaughter since she's a picky eater--such great service! For dessert, my wife had cheesecake, and I had crème brûlée, both delicious. The prices were very reasonable, and we'll definitely be coming back often now that they're open for dinner. i visited Riverside with my family and made a last minute dinner reservation to cafe le reve and we were completely blown away with the quality of the food, we decided to pick multiple entrees, the bouillabaisse was fraîche and typical southern France flavored. we also shared the cornish hen cooke in wine and the kids had a crepe florentine that was out of this world. we did appreciate the fact that it is a family owned and operated business with a warm welcome. thank you Tammy and Alexia in the dining room for a memorable evening. read more

I ordered a Caffè latte and their server Luke refused to refill my cup with a free coffee. Coffee refills are almost always free everywhere in the US. A decent server won't let you see the bottom of your coffee cup unless you ask them to stop but here in this French cafe Luke will ask you about a new charge for adding regular coffee to your Caffè latte . I don't like cheap places and I will not go back there. read more

Absolutely devastated about Café La Rêve closing. This was one of the best restaurants in the area--the food was amazing, the service was always on point, and the owners were generous and attentive.
